  2. for an up coming story arc the heroes are going to explore parallel universes but each new universe will correspond with a comic era. first stop golden / pulp age comics only change i want to move the the time line to the current. so hears were i need your help how advanced do you think this world tech would be. what features do i need to acknowledge to make it feel golden these are the assumptions Ive made so far morality is still black and white racism is still common only now its more softened there are few if any extreme radical racial groups at least in the us people tend to flock together in groups of similar mind sets or racial groups there is a lot more pride in being american or english french in short who your people are is very importent ect

  9. Re: Variant types of damage? I don't know if this will help you but in our game we have a mental attack we call terror/ dominate its the killing attack of mental powers cost 20pts per d6 and drain's ego or presents decide at creation other wise its just killing attack
  10. Hello everyone I'm working on a time line for an up and coming game. The game is based in a world based roughly (very roughly) marvels. As I went throw my stack of old and new comics I noticed some things redundant story lines ex. Civil war/ mutant reg. Phoenix saga and onslaught old characters that have yet to age standing next to young characters that are now fully grown and well just some really bad story arcs and patch works. So hear is what I need help with what story lines seem like there just rehash of an old story so should be combined what current characters should be retired or if they died once should stay dead are there any story lines you liked but just got ditched just to bring you to speed on what Ive done so far the first shield agency was formed in 1943 there task black ops missions overseas using meta humans this is not known to anyone outside of nick fury last mission exterminate all known meta humans collect all meta tech this mission started in 1945 and finished 1951 most ww2 metas wiped out some went into hiding they did not know there was a gene if you showed power you were hunted during ww2 Germany had the largest force of meta humans they just weren't very powerful japan had some of the most powerful but were few in number other nations had very levels in these scales only the us had high numbers in both your input and ideas would be appreciated

Maybe tie in a neutral organization to act as a over law force my name for this group would be the Leviathan* counsel and maybe add a neutral ground say a small island out side of Rio *name coined from the book of the same name by Thomas Hobbs summery: In Leviathan, Hobbes set out his doctrine of the foundation of states and legitimate governments - based on social contract theories. Leviathan was written during the English Civil War; much of the book is occupied with demonstrating the necessity of a strong central authority to avoid the evil of discord and civil war.

I live by the rule that when all else fails take what you know and tweek it to your liking. What if the csa conquered Canada how would the social climate change for that matter What if the south still lost but subverted its self in the union government and throu there influence the slaves were sent to reservations to live. sense they had there own nation the government would be in the right to expect a form of passbook (these books note whether you are a citizen or a resident being a member of the Negro nation your just a resident of the us) if that is what national security wanted maybe all immigrants have them making America much more couscous place. To take it farther the old confederate gained a foot hold in Canada. Now that the us is changed enough to let you take as much license as you like plus you can use Canada somewhere you are more familiar with. What do you think this is just a crazy idea i thought id throw out hope it offers some help

  15. OK so movement has always eluded me in hero it just never made any sense. So I bought 6th ed and the same problem remains the real worlds fastest athletes can be out run buy a small child hear ill show you let us assume that every one has just one action sense the small child only has one and is already runs a faster time than is humanly possible Usain bolt of Jamaica holds the mens world recored in the 100m dash time 9.58 so in hero terms he moves about 1m every segment ill give him 2 more sec to give him a all out of 12 move 6 full 3 half move the small child in hero has a all out 16 full 8 half 4 move did I mis add this? I guess what id like to know is has any one made a fix for this in there games

Re: chaos hey Sean thanks for your time. the control idea comes from a note in the ult. speed book that said an uncontrolled increase of speed required a control roll. to periphrasis (my gaming group applies a control roll when any power is altered logic is your power is now a new power but you have experience in the power type so you just need to get use to it example changing from a low caliber gun so a high caliber weapon would take getting use to.) do you think this build would work for a champions game Chaos Multipower, 20-point reserve, all slots any power one at a time (+1/4), Based On EGO Combat Value (Mental Defense applies; +1) (45 Active Points); all slots No Conscious Control (Only Effects cannot be controlled; -1), Side Effects (gain a control roll; -1/4) Drain BODY 1d6, Can Apply (Remove) Adders (+1) (20 Active Points); Aid 1d6, Can Apply (Remove) Adders (+1) (20 Active Points);

Chaos (adjustment/attack, duration instant, line of sight, cost end) idea: character has the power to make his opponents power work in strange ways mechanic: roll to hit on success roll xd6 active points are added to the opponents (must make immediate control roll lose control of power) power either raw extra power or an advantage. plus the attacker adds hindrances of the same amount rolled (round up) example of use capt speed is attacked by jinxy the hex girl. She has this power at 4d6 and roles a 12 these points are added to the capt's run ability raising it from 30 to 36 in return jinxy can now add a ¼ hindrance to this ability that will last till the bonus points fade completely in this case she added concentration to the power. Not to mention what happens if he loses control of his powers (which in this case involves a brick wall) with the capt out cold she moves to lord of the flame she hits for 20 pts this time and that adds 2d6 to his 4d6 fire blast energy blast making an 6d6 radius attack she gets to add a whole -1 hindrance to his attack in this case she chose no range and extra end now my question how would you cost this power (im guessing around 10 to 15 points per 1d6) and do you see any changes that should be made to make it work more instep with the game also douse this power already exist and I just over looked it
  19. Re: New Mechanic: Movement I think you have a great idea hear. Thou I run movement different in my games. I have a house rule in my games that makes all movements (save for teleport) turn based ie you can move x amount of spaces per turn in a strait line if your character has more than the common 2 actions per turn he has more control over his move options he can acetate faster ,turn more often ect. As a result if superman and the flash of my world had a strait race (both having a 60 move rate) in a strait line they would most likely tie but if they had to navigate a course with turns and twists the flash (8 actions per turn)will win hands down against superman (5 actions per turn) conversely the amassing worm hole man who has teleport can move faster then both of them as far as distance goes because teleporting can be used on every turn so his 60 space move x his 4 actions equals 240 spaces covered! In a single turn (to bad there is no velocity) as you might guess teleport cost more in my games.

I simply found his opening post insulting I don't speak for all black people . Just for myself. Ive sense asked for more imfo about the setting to see what he wants to build. My first post was a knee jerk reaction.

Re: Confedrate Comics Odraude <-- yeah REALLY when you single out one group and justify it under you breath as well that was just a part of history and its over now it applies to every sub-group that has had a grievance in the past. And if you look in history you will find countless examples. That said lets drop the topic or if you want to explore this sort of setting do so with a more mindful representation then the common one found in pulp. Did the industrial revelation have any notable effect on the south. Are there more black sailer types in this setting (this was the most common trade in Negro colleges), did the south expand to full us control did they conker more land? In your setting was there even a world war 2 and did America side with or appose the axis is America a true confederacy. Did all states rule in favor of slaves. As you can see there is a lot to this setting there is no reason to think it would go to any of the common extremes media loves to create maybe a surf culture come to fruit in the us. The first post struck me as just an excuse to bother people (it worked it bothered me) assuming that wasn't the case id love to hear what you had in mind.
