  1. Re: Kingdom Rules - Used in Any Supplements? why not equate character points with kingdom (organisation ) strength maybe a 40 : 1 ratio this way a 400 point character is equal to 10 strength kingdom
  2. Re: Bulletproof. How would you build this? sounds like a Achilles style power am i on the right page
  3. So in a moment of nostalgia I grabbed my old copy of the old marvel superheroes rpg must admit it was a great product but these days I'm using hero 6 but I'm thinking of breeding some of the rules together has anyone tried this. Did it work out ?
  4. Re: Limitation: Random Misfires I think this sounds more like a character complication more than a power disadvantage
  5. I want to use the kingdom rules in a up coming game have any of you used them to run a modern game? what organizations have you built; can you post some examples. This portion of the campaign is play by email and will effect the table game ideally making the world come to life. At the moment the pc's are just small fish in a smaller pond so i'd love to see how the mafia might look or a corporation ive given each player 0nly 25 points to build there “personal kingdoms” and for the time being they will be beneath the notice of the world powers (unless/till they draw attention to them selves). Not that its important but the heroes will be built on heroic 175 points 50 complications so the can hold there own but some of there antagonist will be people you cant just fight face to face going for a modern birth right feel if you remember that game
  6. Re: room filled with water Squall ya it was a dickish thing to say. but I am sorry I made it hard for you to fallow
  7. Re: room filled with water my statement wasn't meant to insult you. and if it did my apologies. to clarify yes a gm has unlimited points to work with that doesn't mean he doesn't need to keep track of them. thats why i brought up the idea of writing up a location like a base. i mean even major villains have write ups don't they? to be strait with you the whole reason of my starting the post was to find a way to alter an environment drastically in this case the area changes from a land environment to a water one with all the changes to the game rules in the 6e book. my major stumbling block is the changes in movement namely water is a 3d environment( if you can swim and every one can by the way). what power will do that some sort of weird use of the fly power? my fix was to make it so with a transform power you could just transform the area to a water environment as defined is the rules and be done with it. but you still need something to meter your effect from if i change a man into a frog i roll his body right? well what is the body of a room? well if a closet is the size of a zero size vehicle then the transform body is 10 per the book, so if i use the same chart and match my sizes to each other i know how much body any space has do you see my train of thought now?
  8. Re: room filled with water well vondy if it will make you feel better call it a location or turf instead of a base. do you have to pay for a gm story created rock slide in a superhero game? no its part of the plot but could some heroes with the right powers stop the rock slide yes by building a location as you would build a base (well i guess big vehicle really bases don't have body stats) the gm knows how many guards are coming if the building has cameras playes need to avoid or could steel a feed from how good there computers are ect. at a glance. as i see it change environment and mind control achieve similar results on different scales its just me brain storming for a solution but I see your point as well
  9. Re: room filled with water makdoc makes a good point so thats the route i'm headed. this is the idea i will just stretch the concept of a base. now a base is any area were a character can take advantage of the lactation only thing i need to add is what I call base environment land(default), Air, water land: this is the basic and most common environment game rules as written air: there is no ground to speak of unless paid for characters must be able to fly or glide to make any movement water: rules as noted for water environment in hero rule book the bases body stat is used to govern if a base environment can be altered (change environment now needs a attack and effect roll just like mental attacks fully changing a base environment wood require a body x3 effect roll) do you think a house rule like this is a good fix?
  10. Re: room filled with water okey I fallow your build tips so now how do i effect the new movement options how do you build running reduced to 1/16 of normal min 2 move
  11. Re: room filled with water okey I fallow your build tips so now how do i effect the new movement options
  12. Re: room filled with water the best i can come up with is a Extra-Dimensional Movement to the same place only underwater with an area effect on it and you automatically return to the regular place when she is knocked out and a triggered double knock back energy blast to represent the water rushing away but that seemed cheesy
  13. Re: room filled with water i am going to use this with a villain with water powers her most common maneuver is to flood an area.
  14. Re: room filled with water ok i see your point Doc. let me try to pair down what i want to happen size 100 m rad 20 m deep cant breath without special considerations (breath water, air supply, swim to above water level) model mostly the combat effects
  15. fxs after power is used the room is filled with water
  16. Is this conversion correct real move to hero move 6e step 1 miles per hour x 1609 kilometers per hour x 1000 step 2 divide step 1 result by 60 divide result by 5 divide result by speed *note if source speed is top speed of creature or object divide result by at least 2 real facts Lotus Esprit model 2002 - 2004 V8 Engine. Twin Garrett T25 turbochargers 175mph/6850rpm, 0 - 60 4.8 Seconds. hero facts speed 4 movement 37 (running)x4
  17. Re: Cutting the Drama Out of Character Creation No one stays dead in comics Hear is one I like use a house rule “no body was found” the player may chose to elude death for his character. The character is taken out of play upon death but may be brought back later in a story. The player and gm must come up with a comic logical explanation for the character not being dead as was believed. Character must stay dead for at least the story arch Upon the characters return to play the gm places 60 cps worth of draw backs these can be injurys social issue or what ever seems to make since at the moment. If the player wants he can just subtract points from his character. Comic ref. Bucky is dead ---> nope he's the winter soldier and till now was brain washed Roady is dead ---> now he is a cyborg ---->(player buys off drawbacks) he is a normal human again jean gray don't get me started book ref. Gandoff dies -----> now he is the white wizard tv ref buffy died twice and well just got better the first time and was brought back with magic the second time ps this set up is even better if you keep a stable of extra characters that way in the mean time just play some one else
  18. Re: Organizations ultimate base is great. but you could just create it using a AI to represent a corp or faction on the character scale
  19. Re: Only in Hero ID ghost angel your example seam like a extra time limitation to me

    the marvels

Re: the marvels by skipping the rockies it staggers the characters a little more its not that there weren't any xmen they were just in training so any adventures they had also involved them have to sneak out so id just run them like teen champions (mutant powers kick in around 12-15 in most cases) in the 60's unless the concept had them as adults in which case they were past students who just kept ties with the prof.

    the marvels

Re: the marvels i kinda see the xmen as a 70's product there 60's run didn't take off after all i recast as a none super team just kids with powers being trained after the death of Xavier in 68 the school was disbanded. his estate was inherited by scott summers its a timeline fudge the way i see it if a book is canceled and isn't reconciled right away one has to go.
  22. Re: Only in Hero ID i use it a little different it means your not always "hero ready" and is related more like a Dependant npc than a item green lantern ring focus not wearing it well its a only in hero id power set so hope you can run home and get it 1/4 disadvantage roll of 8- you dont have it with you

    Primus help

Re: Primus help i always think about those like bonuses to skill rolls for the character and price them as such. this way the locale gang might have access to better streetwise info than say the locale police after all if the cops had any idea a crime was going to go down tonight in the alley on 4th street and main involving the east side rangers i think they would stop it themselves

    the marvels

Okay I'm brain storming a new campaign called Marvels. The concept is the marvel universe but in the real world. Unlike the marvel 616 world all the exploits have been almost completely under public notice. Shied was established to monitor and control the US born meta- humans and counter act meta- human terrorist activity affecting US soil or interests one of there first agents was Steve Rogers. (notable changes Capt. Rogers went AWOL in 1949 in response to orders he could not Morally fallow ) so I want to see how this works in creation all established marvel characters begin there careers around there first publishing unless there a retcon were they start there actions at that point. If you want a established character in a later era the character must either be older of a legacy of the hero in question don't feel bound to marvel characters if you like DC thats fine for era brakes I'm thinking men of mystery 1940's -heroes of the great war -globe trotting adventure calm before the storm 1950's -heroes are hunted and seen as a threat and must hide what they are -monsters plague the countryside new frontier 1960's -first spike of new meta- humans in years rise of the marvels 1970's -no longer being hunted down but still live in fear of the hunters war in shadows 1980's -the line between human and meta human has been drawn -gangs and civil unrest has reached new levels stepping into a new world 1990 - worlds stage 2000's - if this pans into something cool ill gladly run them on hero central just a note I use hero max rules
