  1. Re: Confedrate Comics Well to be honest I find the setting kinda a raciest indulgence but lets be objective. In such a setting not much would change sure ill grant the non-whites would need papers to be on the streets. But then women still would not be able to vote. The northern free slaves would form an organized crime ring for personnel protection this crime ring would spread like wild fire in the south and a silent war would be born then comes the riots countless white people would be killed for no good reason this would prompt the army to round up all the non-whites that can be found and first camp then execute them. After the tragic events died down all of America would be plagued with hit and run tactics the economy would fail mostly due to the fact that the bulk labor force was killed or striking different locations making them worthless and non productive ect. In the end America would polarize more than it already is..........sounds like bad 80's bronze age setting but I guess you can make it a golden age style setting and indulge more deep seeded feeling and make it a setting about how your southern heroes are fighting the good fight and replace nazi's with black people hay its your game. By the way I have family in south Africa. O and I'm black so what will be your next setting what if Germany won the war and killed off all those pesky Jews <---for me just as hurtful but again it is your game
  2. so one of my players created a missile deflect with hardened his logic was if someone had an armor piercing attack he could only block half of the attack is this right? Ive never seen a build like this but I do see his logic.

Let common sense tell you when that cant be done power deflection:For 5 points now you can block arrows. 5 more points you can stop bullets. 5 more points you can now block any ranged attack power reflection: 20points reflect thrown objects For 5 points now you can block arrows. 5 more points you can stop bullets. 5 more points you can now block any ranged attack. special extra for 10 points reflect at any target
  4. Re: new advantage im playing with you guys make a good point vpp at its basic level is just a .5 advantage that req a activation roll. i guess i jumped the gun on this idea.

Stunt power: this advantage allows a character to convert one power into another power this can not change the special effect so a Ice power is still an ice power nor can it add or take away advantages and limitations the points converted are the base power points only. Cost determines what percentage of points are converted 25% is a ¼ advantage 50% is ½ 75% ¾ and 100 is +1 advantage for an added ¼ you can pull from 1 different power category for 1 up to 4 power category example: zephyr is a speedster who's powers are defined as running she decided her character can use her running power to some extent anywhere so she buys this advantage at 50% now she can run 60 (120pts not including and modifiers) swim 60(60pts no mod) even fly 30(60 points no mod) her total base cost would be 180pts example 2: payload is a blaster with far above average skill in his power from his years at mutant U so he buys his power with the 50% option and buys 2 extra power categories +1 advantage so with all of this killing attack 8d6 create a force wall 12def and due to his advantage he can even fly total cost 240 pts what do you all think is there potential?

Re: calling for backup The concept for the character is the field leader of a shield like group before the campaign it was the job of his task force to deal with meta situations no he and his team have been added as liaison to a new super team think a more normal capt with a hint of old nick fury
  8. OK so my character can call a team of 4 solders 150 points each and the solders come in a transport of whatever type needed should I build this as a summon for the vehicle and give the vehicle a weird duplication power? Is that the right take or would you do it different

Re: Social effects well utech to tell the truth i read one of the ideas posted hear about social combat. wile i don't care for an all included rule about social interaction I'm OK with a guide line. the power i created was for a character with a way with words ,the reason i made the power invisible was that someone with mind powers wont detect it. as written the power could be used to rally frightened troops or com a normally high strong person ,you cant make someone kill but you could egg on a fight ,you might be able to convince a cop to let you go and trust that your doing the right thing ,make a jury think someone is guilty you get the idea....keep in mind this is a super skill i may have wrote it wrong

    Re: G.I Joe Its funny I always thought g.i.joe was more of a counter terrorist organization that worked behind the scenes to deal with terrorists cells that any public branch of the military or intelligence agency could not touch. Most of the funding was used of equipment for surveillance and a very small tactile squad about 10 members at most everyone else used were just specialist pulled from the standard military (or civilian life) that the mission called for. So the team would expand and contract as needed.

The capacity to play upon the desires, hopes and needs of others to influence them. Manipulation reflects your character's finesse in social situations. How well he can appeal to, gain the favor of and generally coerce others. Manipulation is applied to win smiles, to put people at ease or to gain favors. Where Presence deals in social force, Manipulation focuses on social subtlety. It's the tool and trade of businesspeople, politicians, salesmen and publicists. Your character may be a wallflower, he could frequently make off-color statements, he might have a winning smile and a hardy handshake, or he may be able to sell sand in the desert. coercion Another person seeks to turn your character's mind to her way of thinking, or tries to get him do something for her, possibly through debate, intimidation or threats. A prolonged interrogation or torture session may require extended rolls between parties, made every few minutes, hours or days, as appropriate. If successes rolled in a contested coercion attempt tie, the subject maintains his own will and does not break down.   18. Re: The Uber-Blast i may be off but how about build the hero as a normal with a multi-form when he uses his ultra blast the side effect is that it turns him back to normal and hinder him to were it takes him what ever amount of time to transform back

Re: Extraordinary Characteristic Rolls i like the idea. its a mega skill based on existing powers far more powerful than just a power stunt but i dont think you should be able to buy the ability in and of its self id make it a skill roll with a diff= -1/5 so superman wants to fix the world to save his lady it would be a maga scale heal 1d6 with reserct added a power like that would cost like 150 points <-im guessing) so the dif penelty would be -30 from his skill check or some such
  20. hello is desolidification miss priced? at 40points i mean the power has aspecs of dmg reduction and tunneling i would think it would cost a lot more am i wronge

Re: New Mechanic: Limbs to tell you the truth i can see were your going with this idea why not just leave what ever number of limbs at base alone asume 2 usefull limbs as a base for all if the extra limbs are extra usefull then pay extra for them in this way a human who can use his feet for somethis other than moving would just by it as a extra limb so now he can kick with his legs (a stronger punch ) but this ertra limb is always made to be your off hand or some thing like that i dont know what do you think
