My excel spreadsheet has NAME-DEX-TIEBREAK-END-STUN-BODY-REC-SPD-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12 The END/STUN/BODY/REC section is just for my villains and NPCS. When you type a number into SPD, it automatically puts an "X" in each of the correct number columns for the character's speed. And I've written 12 macros (Well, 1 macro that I made 11 copies of and modified slightly). So there's a toolbar across the top. When you click the "12" on the toolbar for example, the spreadsheet grabs all the rows of characters sorts anyone with an X under 12 to the top, orders those by DEX, and orders any ties by the number in the TieBreak column. One of the better things I've made. However, the one thing I've never done successfully is transfer it to someone who wanted a copy. Each time they do it doesn't work for them. Otherwise I'd put it up on my website. Maybe once I've figured that out... EDIT: I should mention that on separate worksheets in the excel workbook are the figures for the villains I'm using and the heroes. So come time to change enemies, I go to the other page, select the villains, Copy them, go back to the combat page and paste them in, sort by segment 12 and off we go!

  3. Re: WWYCD: It's time for the Megaman KidZ Show! No one would write Uncle Slam as dumb or cruel; He's an American icon. The public would get up in arms about it. Anthem would only complain about the "cruel" part. She'd mind the "dumb" part, but she'd live with it. If it helps kids, she can deal with some hero thinking she's dumb. Besides, it might give her an edge against villains.

  6. Re: Movement Question You'd think, except for the height. Which means you're mixing movements, Which is what raised the question. I think I've got it close enough at this point to make it work. It'll come up in game again I'm sure; One guy is a speedster who specializes in move-by/through/flying tackle.
  7. Re: Movement Question Thanks for the responses. I think I may end up adjudicating some of this based on if the person has purchased a flying tackle, grab by, etc. martial art maneuver. Otherwise I may let them do it with an acrobatics roll and some of the base move-through minuses. I figure that's (part of) the benefit of buying MA.

  9. Let's say an enemy is 3" off the ground and 12" away. A player has 30" of running and a STR of 25 (Enough to get 2.5" off of the ground on a jump) and he's average height. This means the bad guy is about 12" away, but in order to reach him the player would have to do a half move run AND a jump, then do his grab. Is this a legal maneuver or is running a half-move and jumping a half-move. Now the jump in the book is basically a "running leap" it says. But if you include it for free as part of the half-move run, where is the apex of the leap? Is it anywhere along the half-move run?
  10. Re: QuestionL Would you consider this unfair or rail roading? I think it's an interesting quandary, and if I were playing I wouldn't resent it at all. I know how as a GM my players would react. They would split. You'd have a few who have DNPCs, who would break away and leave the rest to deal with the villain. I would only run something like this myself if it wasn't "no win". If I could look at their characters and see a way to orchestrate a win if I were them, I'd do it. And knowing them, they'd come up with yet another way on their own!

I imagine they wouldn't be too high on the idea because of the ease to copy such a thing. But I know if I heard buzz about a good comic, though i love to have and read a copy, I'm not willing to make a trip to the store for just one comic.

I was thinking: -1 BODY/Turn for -1/4 -1 BODY/Phase for -1/2 -1 BODY/Segment for -1 I'd leave out DEF for limitation purposes because once it hits 0 BODY it's gone anyway. Now I'll have to see which I like better

  16. I recall from one of the previous editions (probably actually from one of the villains in an old supplement) a limitation that simulates your Entangle breaking down over time. I'm having trouble spotting it in 5ER, if it's there. Can anyone point it out? I'm not referring to Vulnerability or Susceptibility, but rather an effect like a Block of Ice melting. I could model it myself, but if I can find the actual limit somewhere it would help keep things consistent. Thanks in advance.

Marvel is making way more off of their movie productions than they are off of any individual title. The industry will evolve. Heck, last week I bought the DVD "40 Years of X-men". It's something like 480 issues. That's something they'd have never done years ago; Gotta exploit new markets and media.

I believe it's probably 4 or 5D6 (Don't have a copy of the character in front of me) and thus 4 or 5 DEF and limited uses; Certainly enough to stop a "talented non-mentalist" (EGO 15 or so). I will allow pushing. It makes some sense; Straining to break free. I wish I'd built the timestop differently (A SPD drain like in USPD is what came up during my later research) but that ship has sailed. It's a player who would probably revolt if I changed it for him now. I'm also trying to avoid specific power constructs to avoid this problem power. But I do think that an opponent who is the foil for this power will be showing up; A time-based villain who doesn't like what the character is doing to the timeline. He won't be in all adventures, but he'll make the player think at least.

I was just hoping there were ways of dealing with it, using existing mechanics, that I hadn't spotted already. Since per the write-up in the ENTANGLE section, it would only be subject to attack by EGO breakout or EGO Attack, and there was no specific defense for it, I was just wanting to see if there was something I'm missing. Sounds like NO. I'm not going to make him rewrite the power. However, I am going to have to be certain I have someone on hand who can do something about it, else the game get to easy for them.

Enter puberty; Track down dad's dirty magazines; Suddenly my art is improving. My original game group used to joke that I was the first guy they ever met who would take a picture of a nude woman and draw clothes onto her.
