  1. If Douglas Adams was still alive I would expect him to edit his H2G2 script to say "a species so primitive they still think smartphones are a good idea."
  2. The silly thing about the jail time is not the courtroom shenanigans but the fact he was caught by police coming up the stairs to his apartment. That should have been plenty of time for post-speedforce Barry to move the body, clean the floors, remove any evidence and still be found watching TV when the police bust his door down.
  3. In the UK you can drink wine or beer in a restaurant at the age of 16 if you are with your family and they purchase it for you. I have always found it odd that America is still so puritanical about drinking. That at 19 you are not considered responsible enough to buy a beer but owning an automatic rifle is fine.
  4. I thought the LMD storyline was excellent. Current season ain't bad. Still not sure where they are going with it and I rarely like time travel stories. So there is that. It needs to acquire a direction imo. I miss Fitz :-(
  5. She goes on to say she would only be interested in directing a super hero movie if the hero had “really complex psychology”. Which suggests she has never seen a super hero movie.
  6. Communication in Startrek is a little murky. They have face to face communication but sometimes it seems to take a while for that to be established. Which is an interesting game mechanic. They also drop bouys when in danger, which kind of suggests their instantaneous communication is dependent on their relay infrastructure. So might not be available when out in the wilds. Which again might be a good game mechanic.
  7. I read that as "it was cool in Captain America, let's do that too."
  8. “If I calculate my own carbon footprint, that's a bummer,” Traer says. “But if I calculate it for Batman, things get interesting.” - I completely disagree ;-)
  9. I would not be at all surprised if that was part of the original plan but then they saw the viewing figures...
  10. Don't get me started on Titanic. We are all used to Hollywood f**king over history for the sake of a story but that one gets me spitting blood. When it is just inserting Americans into a war story we all roll our eyes but no harm done. When you use real people's names for "historical accuracy" but then have them behave like monsters then you deserve to be taken out and shot!
  11. I love the Flash. I also love the Marvel shows. Agents in particular had a strong last season and the new one is looking interesting. Flash is light fun with a strong heart, what's not to love? These shows, DCU and Marvel, get a fair amount of complaint but I find them comparable or indeed better than much on telly today. Looking at my viewing habits at the moment and it's either Super heroes or history programmes. :-)
  12. Given the number of children with powers stories people are attempting at the moment, I am more than happy to see someone try something different. If they obviously place the students at Xavier's school it will be just another X-Men movie and I stopped watching them a while ago. Ymmv.
  13. As much as I like the actress I thought she was miscast in that role. I didn't feel there was any chemistry with Bale either. Which is unusual for Bale anyway.
  14. The scariest idea is the suggestion that Murdoch's son could end up with a position of power in Disney due to the undisclosed stock exchange. That would be a disaster for everyone. Disney included. That family are (at best) toxic.
  15. And the last Nolan Batman movie wasn't that great either.
  16. As an old guard X-Men fan I feel it all went to the crapper when Claremont got put in charge. IMO his worst crime is his female characters who all turn into hard bitten warrior women :/
  17. I am quite sure the hologram knows. But is only saying what it thinks it should.
  18. I think at least part of the problem is that DCs "grim dark" isn't that great a version of grim dark either. There was more resonance to Tony Stark wanting to kill Bucky than there was with anything from the DC universe. IMO of course ;-)
  19. I would like to see the Thing start off relatively smooth but become more rocky when he goes through the cosmic rays for a second time. Like they did in the comics ;-)
  20. I am thinking of starting a society for the prevention of cruelty to shop staff. I was in Tescos at the weekend and they turned on the *kin Christmas music. They started with Maria Carey and immediately followed up with Wizzard Me and the Misses braced ourselves against the psychological attack and crawled our way to the checkout. We paid as quickly as we could (blood seeping for our ears) but on speaking to the guy at the till it became apparent that they were only playing 4 tracks! 4 tracks on a continuous loop for 8 hours. What kind of cruel and heartless bastards would be willing to subject other human beings to that? Pure unadulterated evil. Please join us in the fight against this crime against humanity.
  21. Even though we know all that it is nevertheless horrific to read it again.
