Agreed, I thought it was an enjoyable watch. Not crazy about the retcons to Dani and Illyana's origins ( ), but I certainly can't fault the actresses.

I may rethink getting my wreck-dented front bumper fixed before the next "Straight Pride" parade in Oklahoma... -
Makes me glad that my mother got the Moderna vaccine, but for my own sake I'll be happy with the protection of the Johnson & Johnson or Astra Zenica versions if those are the first to become available to me.

At the very least there's more hard evidence placing him inside Congress during the insurrection than anyone else except the participants who left corpses behind and that Q-shaman guy. It's probably best not to smile and pose for the camera in the midst of attempting to overthrow the government. -
VPP -1/4 limitation; "Only Magic"?
Matt the Bruins replied to Panpiper's topic in HERO System Discussion
I've used it in the past since it's listed for published characters, including signature character Witchcraft. But I'll confess "magic" is so versatile a special effect it feels like cheating in the absence of other limitations like Gestures, Incantations, Requires a Magic Skill Roll, etc.. I'm more comfortable with more restrictive versions like Only Chinese Sorcery (-1/2) that give a better feel for what can and can't be chosen as a slot. -

What'll he release it on? Parler's defunct, and isn't he banned from all respectable social media platforms? -
Very nice chest for displaying your hobbies, Steve! Going fine wooden construction rather than steel gets my stamp of approval.

Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase Three and BEYOOOOONND
Matt the Bruins replied to Bazza's topic in Non-Gaming Discussion
I thought Dark Phoenix was moderately enjoyable. But then, the movies I was comparing it to were its rough draft (X-Men: The Last Stand) and the crapfest that preceded it (X-Men: Apocalypse). I enjoyed James McAvoy's performance, the special effects, and getting to watch Jennifer Lawrence's character die on camera. -

I can maybe see it working in large cities where the intersection of high population density, nightmarish traffic/parking, and lots of disposable cash would ensure high demand. I can't imagine it being viable in small cities like my own or even smaller towns where the population density and barriers to picking food up yourself are lower once the added Covid risk factor is removed. -

I don't understand how services like Doordash and Grubhub can work. My understanding is that they add something like another 50% to the cost of the average takeout meal. I'd only even consider that much markup as an alternative to room service in a hotel when the weather or other circumstances wouldn't allow me to walk to nearby restaurants. -
On the bright side, these particular reckless young people spend lots of time largely isolated among other young, fit and healthy people rather than at home in frequent contact with their grandparents and other high risk demographics. It's sad, but not as sad or dangerous as those spring break beachgoers or the crowds at Sturgis.

The theme song from the end of WandaVision episode 7, in my head, in a continuous loop as it has been for the last six days. 🙉

More like the Fair-to-Middling Reveal, if you've seen the ones in episodes 5 and 7. I am astounded that I still have the theme song from the end of the latter running on a loop in my brain on the 6th day after viewing. ABBA Gold and the Xanadu soundtrack are two of the CDs I have in my car to listen to on roadtrips, so it's not as if I normally have trouble getting catchy tunes out of my head!

I'd think the Lone Ranger would be a natural for such a game. And essential if werewolves are involved at any point!

Is Texas facing a humanitarian crisis?

I'd be perfectly fine with starting with him and then abandoning the general trend when it becomes impractical. Then again, I also think we should get rid of him on the specific principles of continuing to spread lies about the 2020 election and support the Jan. 6 insurrection after the fact. -

So all the fighting we've been seeing in the trailers is just the lead-up to a passionate Sam & Diane type of romance? 😆 -

For any normal family a dogsitter or housesitter would be my initial assumption. But this is Cruz we're talking about, and he never fails to prove me wrong when I think he must have some spark of human decency hidden away somewhere. I wouldn't rule out him deciding that the dog should pull itself up by its leash and figure out a way to pay for its own care and feeding in the family's absence. -

Honestly, I'm surprised the family has a dog. I'd have expected any pets to be something Cruz would be more comfortable with, like say ophidians... -

I believe Cruz tried to spin it as "being a good father" by accompanying his family on a vacation planned before the winter weather hit. Nope: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/18/us/politics/ted-cruz-storm-cancun.html?campaign_id=60&emc=edit_na_20210218&instance_id=0&nl=breaking-news&ref=cta®i_id=100892330&segment_id=51939&user_id=e80884a66306fc0742e52358ae9f839b -

Is Texas facing a humanitarian crisis?
Matt the Bruins replied to Steve's topic in Non-Gaming Discussion
I've heard a lot of people making a case that those in northern states accustomed to severe winter weather shouldn't criticize Texas for their handling of this emergency. So y'all sit back and let me do it from here in Arkansas, right next to Texas at the same latitude and with the same weather. While there are the expected outages caused by power lines being down and such, we're largely doing okay despite getting more than double our average annual snowfall in the last 3 days. What we don't have are millions of people without power due to a completely isolated power grid, utility companies shutting down power entirely (and suspiciously in minority and low-income neighborhoods) rather than enacting rolling blackouts, and an overly influential Oil industry that demonizes all other forms of power production. Oh, we also don't have a US Senator infamous for opposing federal aid to other states during natural disasters skipping off to sunny Cancun on vacation in the middle of such in his own state.
