  1. Re: Surgical Sterility Field The problem I have with this, unless your game differs here, is that most diseases in Hero are created not as creatures with BOD stats but as Drains. In which case, a RKA will not effect them. What about a Dispel vs. Drains, Only Against Harmful Bacteria & Germs?
  2. Re: Recovery and Endurance logic Using your brain to do math or physics(which would be represented by skills, not powers) is very different from using it to say, throw cars around with TK too though.
  3. Re: Non-standard mythologies Versions of the greek and norse abound, but they are easy to identify. Major personality traits, rough powers/abilities, and spheres of influence of the Greek or Norse gods are easy to find. Making sense of the names and spheres of influence of...the egyptian gods is harder. Horus, Ra, Amon-Ra, and Helieos are all gods of the sun. This is why you see less egyptian gods.
  4. Re: Non-standard mythologies Greek mythology has well documented spheres of control and personalities for the gods and heroes. it is very easy to find information. Norse mythology is a good runner-up on those points. Egyptian mythology has a lot of overlap between the gods. Celtic myth is hard to find useful information on. Pantheon.org requires a lot of footwork for a project like this.
  5. Re: Mystical artifacts And those ever annoying Crowns of Krim ...the stone crown, the dirt crown, the iron crown
  6. Re: Power Armor EC Question I see nothing wrong with it. My take is: Multi-Power :: no restrictions on theme or power types, just so long as they can be "classified" as one power. Remember, MP's get dispelled as a unit. But Power Armor, Arrows, Optic Blasts, Fire Creation, Magic, Telepathy are all good MP SFX. Elemental Control :: must have a widely recognized list of powers. the powers in an EC should require no explanation as to how they fit there. Good examples include weather control, fire powers, ice powers, elemental, demonic, classic power armor, classic super brick, telepathy, telekinesis, or matter control. Variable Power Pool :: good for any SFX that can justify a sizable portion of the power list or vast reworkings of type and modifiers. Gadgeteer, Armory, Magic, Cosmic, Mimicry, and Metamorph are good examples
  7. Re: Blown Away... Thanks...ZenStorm, however you are being ticketed for not giving humantorch101 or myself any helpful suggestions. And yes, while Champions Universe default does tribute DC and Marvel, many of the tributes are drastically altered. In fact, many heroes in comics proper are villains in Champions Fantastic Four = Terror Inc Professor Muerte = Reed as Dr Doom Giganto = Thing Feur = Human Torch Scorpia = Invisible Woman PSI = X-Men turned evil Viperia = Supergirl/Power Girl
  8. Re: one question... On the note of taking a break my group will juggles campaigns to keep things fresh. We skip between Dark Champions, Champions, and Star Wars/Hero

  11. Re: Power Armor EC Question If a player could give me a Classic Speedster list of powers. The two most iconic speedsters in comics, the Flash and Quicksilver have totally different powers. The traditional Flash power set is not conducive to a EC, I built him on a multi-power. I'd accept "Classic Super-Brick" with Strength, Constitution, Armor/FF, Flight, Energy Blast. So what your really saying is that EC's in your campaign are not available for a good theme: classic power armor, classic super-brick, weather control, fire control, telekinesis....if the character wants to limit the EC via a focus? What is the difference between EC: Classic Power Armor, OIF (- 1/2) and Fire Creation, Not in Water/Vacuum (- 1/4), Activation Roll 15- (- 1/4)?
  12. Re: one question... well, any attack (eb, rka, ha, str) is just a means of delivering stun and body damage. i focus on what fits the character concept and i have my own range markers based on the 4th ed BBB commentary of the mechanics of combat and math of stats. For example, it stated that average defense should be 2x maximum dc and max defense should be 2 1/2x maximum dc. Thus in your game (9 DC max) the average def should be 18 and the max def should be 23. I run a 12 dc game with an average def of 24 and a max def of 30. These numbers do not reflect special attacks or defenses. As for spicing up the game.... 1) character -- villains and supporting cast don't die or disappear often. thus rivalries, fueds, and recurring characters are a staple feature. make your players look forward to crossing swords with evilvillainman again. 2) continuity -- i publish a "newspaper" (which is basically headlines and 3-4 sentinces) so the major supporting cast and villains can establish a history, sub-plots can be introduced, and the campaign world can reflect on the characters. in one campaign, the editorial feature on our group was actually written by the secret id of one of the players (a shazam type multi-form); it created havoc when his id was exposed to the group. "you called me an idiot!", "what do you mean i have no sense of tactics?", "if you don't like my piloting, you fly the jet" 3) nifty places to fight -- in super heroics, you can fight almost anywhere. We've pitched battles in city streets, undersea bases, starships in deep space, floating platforms high above the city, university campus's, and villain bases. be creative
  13. Re: Power Armor EC Question I do allow "classic sfx" as EC themes. In this case, power armor types generally have certain powers. Classic Power Armor EC -- Strength -- Armor/Force Field -- Flight -- Energy Blast/RKA -- "magnetic" tk
  14. Re: Building a DC/Marvel Amalgam Universe The "pre-adolescent" or "young hero" genre is typified by the Titans. Power Pack is not archtypical
  15. Re: Building a DC/Marvel Amalgam Universe No problem. I've thought that in most universes we've seen little in how things fit together.
  16. Re: Disease? Drains are the traditional method used to simulate diseases by most GM's and HERO as seen in the Hero Beastiary and other books. A Body Drain can kill....at 0 Bod your dead
