  1. It's fishing, he gets cut up and used for bait.
  2. It also is the postseason of Aces not being Aces. Probably worst start of Verlander's season, maybe close to career. Cole ended up pitching well, but he was over 60 pitches in 3rd. Fried for Atlanta had shortest outing of year. Clevinger (granted, not an ace, but former top level pitcher) bombed by Dodgers.
  3. I stated that wrong. I meant that is a play you call on 3rd and 1 knowing you will go for it on 4th. On 4th, you do something that gets you the first down, run up and down the ball. to me, too high a risk play. I also think, if Waller doesn't hurt hamstring, Raiders probably win that game.
  4. My problem with that end for Raiders, that is a 3rd and 1 play. you have to get that first down and Jacobs had been running great.
  5. Wait, Winnie the Pooh was banned for talking animals but Chronicles of Narnia were banned for violence, mysticism and Gore - I guess the talking animals were ok in it.
  6. They will pitch DeGrom today, but he has not looked good in his last 4 starts and the Padres will pitch Snell, who has looked like the guy TB removed too early from a game.
  7. You could use Balder, who was immune to almost any harm. of course, then what acronym are you using to summon the power.
  8. The early morning game was purely a great pitching beats great hitting game. Both Bieber and Maclanahan were fantastic - both pitched through 7 innings - final score 2-1 Guardians. The game that ended surprising was the Cardinals/Phillies. Cardinals led 2-0 going to 9th, they showed a stat where they were 93 - 0 when leading after 8 innings. Their closer gets first out then gives up a doink single. then forgets how to throw his fastball anywhere, and I do mean anywhere, near the plate. walks 2 guys, hits the next one (2-1 cards) before the trainer/pitching coach comes out. oh, his hand is cramping (I am saying this because they only got guys up to start warming up on the batter he hit and now the pitcher they brought in gets to take as long as he wants to warm up, so I am a little dubious), so finally bring in another pitcher. single to right vs drawn in infield (not playing dp depth with 1 out and 2nd baseman almost speared it) so 3-2 Phillies, smash to 1st baseman but throw home late (again, why not try double play), single to left past 3rd baseman/SS on play probably should have been made (team looks like they have given up, fans are leaving stands to go home). Sac Fly - 6-2 Phillies. Cards get 1 more in 9th and put 2 guys on but Molina strikes out to end game.
  9. Problem is, they missed Kingston beating Jericho window, IMO. And honestly, Sammy had become so popular as a face and then a heel (when people apparently hated him for apparently marrying Tai Melo/Conti), that rejoining Jericho has only hurt him, to me. Looking forward to the Hangman/Moxley match. should be really good, but will be ruined, again in my opinion, because they will have MJF take the title from the winner right after, ala the old money in the bank thing from WWE.
  10. There seems something wrong with Old Man saying older relatives.
  11. Unfortunately, this does not preclude them trading Ohtani, especially as that $30 mil is kind of a bargain. His FA contract will be a minimum of $45+ a year. And Ohtani and Trout make back the money they are paid in spades with merch and attendance, guaranteed. Been saying that for a while Grailknight, ever since they basically fired their scouting director and half his staff and haven't replaced them. Hoping Minasian is doing so. As too next season, one thing they have going for them is they seem to have found some young starting pitching. Detmers, Sandoval and Suarez were very good this year and hopefully better next season. Chris Rodriguez, who missed 2022 after a shoulder surgery, is another young controlled pitcher who is good. Injuries and a bullpen expected to be a strength with proven guys (Bradley who missed half the season due to breaking his arm in the Mariner Brawl, Tepera, Loup and Iglesias specifically) who all blew games at an alarming rate for 2 months as the offense disappeared. Rendon's injury, Trout's injury/slump, missing Fletcher (whose numbers are never spectacular, but he is the spark plug of the team), Walsh turning out to be injured (basically had rib removed in a surgery), Stassi forgetting how to hit really led to their downfall. Also, Adell and Marsh, as decent as they played, really never played at the level anyone thought they would. So I have hopes for next year, but I totally agree they need to revamp their scouting and hopefully under new owners they will. Dodgers are a tough team to compare too. They basically have an owner who said I don't care how much you spend, they got a tv contract with that owners company to help pay for those players, so eating contracts is something they don't care about. They spent money to basically get all they top analytic guys from TB to come to them. And conspiracy people, like my brother, wonder how it is that players come from other teams and then hit more HRs and better then they did at any other point in their career, and why these ROY guys come up and are greatest ever for 3 months then disappear (see Puig).
  12. Sorry, my conspiracy sarcasm was showing. I was hinting that a Dolphins/Eagles game would be much less hypeful without the 2 QBs who already have a built in prior event between them. It was a big deal when Tua replaced Hurts in the national title game as a freshman or red shirt freshman after Hurts got them there, then replaced him as the starting QB the following season until in, again, the national title game, Hurts replaced Tua. Following season, Tua again would start and Hurts transferred to Oklahoma.
  13. OH, and I am sure the undefeated Dolphins with Tua vs the 1 defeat Eagles with Hurts (whom Tua replaced at Alabama causing Hurts to transfer to OK) and the hpye that could surround that had NOTHING to do with the decision.
  14. Just finished watching the NJPW finale of the G1 between Okada and Osprey. This was a tremendous match and I recommend it to anyone if you can find it. Osprey literally pulled finishers from almost everyone who has beaten Okada trying to win the match.
  15. I watched a lot of the series after seeing him play Bond and always felt he was just playing Bond as the Saint, but then, I suspect that is what the powers that be wanted, as a change from Connery. If you want a real treat, find the old Saint radio programs with Vincent Price as Simon Templar. He gets to really show his comedic chops in it and he had a great voice for radio.
  16. Wish it was being shown on a non streaming service. Really hoping this goes by the wayside, but probably won't.
  17. apparently same batter, not just same inning from what MLB was saying this morning.
  18. Wait, an AI Image where the bottom floor appears boarded up and the 2nd floor has broken windows? whoa.
  19. Sherman seemed to forget to catch too AND cost them a 15 yard penalty gain because he just had to come off the bench and get in a guys face for a slightly late hit on QB Idiot.
  20. The Jungle Boy vs Rey Fenix was as good a match as you would expect and want between to hyper athletic opponents, and the show of respect from JB to RF was, I believe, real. Ruined by the Christian/Luchasaurus beatdown smack talk. Again, and I don't know if was planned or because of the actual injury to Christian, but having the friend from childhood turn against you is such a tired trope. I so prefer the, you are my best friend and I will stand behind you stuff. I sort of feel this way about the Billy Gunn and his kids too.
  21. The Sydney/Collingwood prelim final ended up great. 30 point lead by Sydney going into 4th qtr and I think they won by 3 points or something, I know came down to end. Sorry to see how big a blowout the GF was, but then Geelong did the same thing to Brisbane in their prelim final.
  22. LL, agree almost completely with the exception that I would say the people who were doing the DC TV shows were actually doing a pretty good job of staying to the characters. Only major difference to me was GA becoming Batman, in effect. Snyder should never have been put in charge of any Superman or WW projects (really, I would say anything other then Batman, honestly). Why Johns wasn't in charge from the beginning, I have no idea.
  23. As if a cat would admit that. I believe it is asking where it's food bowl went and why there isn't food in it.
  24. Apparently, we should watch the stock market as the last time the New York Yankees, Mets, Jets and Giants all won on the same day was 2009.
