  1. As someone else pointed out, Waller was an answer to Fury, especially after Jackson started playing him, but being DC, they couldn't JUST do a spymaster, but instead a sadistic one with a "blind loyalty" to the USA. Fury is at least supposed to be an international peace keeper. It's sad, because the idea of the Suicide Squad is great and was originally done right in the comics and led, I believe, to the Thunderbolts in Marvel which also was done well. Deni's take on Waller wasn't bad and her interactions with Bruce were great - "Mine are bigger". I actually like the idea of a squad of villains (plausible deniability) for covert operations to remove other countries ability to use supers, but Waller, especially movie Waller, is to over the top. I was surprised the post credits scene from SQ2 showed the 2 "agents" only having been demoted and not outright executed or imprisoned for treason for striking her. A big part of the problem was the first SQ movie, with her basically shooting all her support staff in cold blood setting the tone for the character.
  2. yeah, king for about 30 seconds I suspect when dealing with a pissed off Gator either from having been stabbed in the head OR someone stealing its knife.
  3. I do not, nor plan to have, HBO Max or whatever it is, so hoping there will be another way to watch. The Authority just sound like the Watchmen or The Boys to me. I liked the original Watchmen comic as a one time thing and have heard the series is good but have no desire to watch it. I have no faith that the DCU people could pull it off. I look forward to Creature Commandos, though if the one on the right is the werewolf, don't like the art style. Booster Gold could be fun, depending on what they do. I liked Jaime as blue beetle, would be even better if they do an older Ted as his mentor. Despise the character of Waller, for the most part, so again, no desire to see.
  4. I think I would somehow put enough of a pattern in it that wouldn't be truly visible until the sun shined through showing the shadow of a hand and arm on the grave.
  5. My brother was commenting the other day about how big a gap there seems to be between starting QBs and their backups. I mean, there are 32 starters of varying ages, how are there not 32 more QBs of varying ages at least close in skill?
  6. yeah, that resemblance to a young Lucy is striking
  7. I really liked this one, I didnt like the sequel nearly as much, despite adding Salma to the mix. I felt they went backwards with Reynolds competency.
  8. Is the salmon that bad it makes you want to cuss out loud?
  9. Yeah, and you can actually say probably cost them the game. by all reckoning, 8 seconds left and KC would have still been out of FG range with no timeouts. you make sure no catches on sideline and tough to make play and down ball.
  10. I am annoyed at the Schilling stuff because unlike Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod etc, his is not a "cheated in the game of baseball" issue, but more an outside baseball stance on political views - which are VERY right wing. But, again, almost all of this is after his playing days when he was no longer in baseball. They turned writers off so they don't vote for him, despite the fact that if you asked most about his career without saying it was him, they would agree he should be in. I accept the PED guys not being voted in, sort of, because it is guys like that who made the committee have to vote McGriff in unanimously because too many looked at his stats and said they weren't enough. 493 HRs, mostly prior to the PED scandals, but because of the PED guys, 500+ became a new norm for HR hitters. As an Angel fan, I talk about Tim Salmon, who did not do steroids. He averaged right around 30 hrs every year, and yet, because of the era he played in, that seems pathetic for a middle bat power guy when the leaders were all 50+ every year. I am not saying Salmon is a HOFer, but he seems pedestrian compared to league leaders. I also find it funny, when you look at Rolen who made it, how defense seems to be ignored until they can use it as an excuse. Truthfully, Kent should be a HOFer, he is the best HR hitting second baseman ever. His defense was average, not bad, but it is used as the excuse for not putting him in.
  11. great picture except the apparent broken ankle on beast's right foot.
  12. Other problem is what Matt Vasgersian calls Christmas and Easter Mass voters (people who only go to Mass at Christmas and Easter and never go to church at any other time), reporters who only come out to cover championship and world series games, but somehow still have a vote for the HOF because they have baseball credentials. They don't actually pay attention to the sport usually, but cover the end of season. Other part of this, if you send in a card with no one on it, it takes 3 other voters to offset your blank card. If you just don't vote, then it doesn't, the 75% is based on ballots submitted. I would also point out, 3 guys were above 75% going into the last week, but all the anonymous voters came in and one barely made it. This is another of those things where once submitted, should become a public thing. It was the guy who held up there ever being a 100% forever because he just didnt believe anyone should be. No real justification.
  13. I think Beltre will get in. He is the best 3rd baseman of his generation defensively and was a force offensively. He has the 3000 hits older voters like to see too.
  14. And there are some offices that heater, if it works would be nice
  15. Hmm, i remember the 2 movies individually and thought good, I hadn't realized there was a crossover movie sequel.
  16. I think what they did was replace the 3 with pure run blockers...and it worked. Purdy outplayed Prescott - I remember when everything was Romo's fault and Dallas fans couldn't wait to get rid of him for Prescott. As to SF next season, it will be hard for them to shift off Lance as his injury meant he didnt get to really showcase himself so trading him may not be an option and they gave up a lot of capital to get him, but if Purdy gets them to the Super Bowl and Lance comes out next season and looks bad fans will be calling for him. Eagles looked good and as soon as they got that lead, if I were head coach, I would have told Hurts to go sit on the bench and padded him with foam rubber, because they go as he goes. I think 49ers beat them, actually, more complete team, but should be good. Bengals are playing like a team that went to the superbowl last season and everyone said was a fluke and look how good these other teams are. Mahomes getting hurt is a game changer, changed that game but Jags couldn't take advantage. The look on Lawrence's face when the receiver dropped that ball inside the 5 for a fumble said everything.
  17. I noticed on one of our channels that there is a sequel to Undercover Brother - A movie I enjoyed and thought had some great stuff in it. So I recorded it, despite misgivings over the fact no one from the original seemed to be involved. This one has UB being frozen and it features his brother. Unlike the original, his brother is an idiot. I watched about 45 minutes and kept hoping it would show at least some of the originals humor/intelligence, then I deleted it. So, based on what I saw, if you liked the original, I can't recommend it. I could be wrong, as I said, since I didnt make it through, so if anyone else did watch and made it through and it got better, let me know and perhaps I will try again.
  18. So is the fact they just signed another kicker - as insurance.
  19. and if you didnt feel old and lazy enough, remember that Michelle Yeoh is 60 years old doing this. Not to mention Jamie Lee Curtis. Her facial expressions in the stairway fight were priceless and perfect.
  20. I don't know, I would find it hard to see Jackie married to Quan, LOL. Though he could probably pull it off.
  21. Really hoping Alcohol (or something worse) not involved. Very sad though.
  22. Hmm, good news bad news I think : Good - job SECURITY for life : Bad - job security for LIFE
  23. Saw this last night. Really enjoyed it and can say it is one of the strangest movies I have ever seen, in a good way. Ke Huy Quan, who plays the husband, reminded me a lot of Jackie Chan and I kept wondering if the part wasn't originally written for Jackie, although Quan does an amazing job. Of course, Yeoh is the star and also is incredible.
