Had a collision of searches on Amazon the other day. I was looking at sci-fi books while my wife had been looking at Lego sets for the boys earlier that day.

My sons were watching an episode of little House on the Prairie. Pa was helping a young widow with home repairs in exchange for her unneeded china. This was to be a surprise. However, the girls saw him at her house, and Pa was very evasive.
 
One of the girls described her (after Pa left) as "a Black Widow."
 
My youngest said, "Natasha!"

My wife ordered zinc oxide the other day to make our own sun screen. I didn't get a good look at the bag and thought it was a bag of salt (a real quick glance was all I took). The company had Essential in the name. I honestly thought for a moment someone had the bad taste to send "Essential Salts."

Saturday night, I told the boys we had an Avengers cartoon for them to watch. My eldest asked if it was a VeggieTales version. The image that came to mind was Iron Larry and the Incredible Bob.

The children's program at church involves superheroes this year. I was uncomfortable with this because it mixes Marvel and DC characters. But that's beside the point. It's also beside the point that the Hulk player will wear a savage Hulk costume but have a style of speech closer to the Professor and Joe Fixit.
 
Yesterday, my wife, who is directing, was talking to the kid playing Cap.
