    The Pack

Re: The Pack The story he gave at the start. There was a Games Workshop game called 'necromunda'. On planets that were created purely for their industrial value the entire populace of a planet generally lived inside gigantic 'Hives' The rich and powerful 'nobles' lived at the top (literally) and the crap flowed downwards. Right down the bottom you had the 'Underhive' where live was hard and deadly. Gang warfare and such and also mutants and other threats. Occasionally bored Rich Kids would suit up in power armour with power weapons and such and come down and slaughter their way through the assorted gangs. House 'Spyra' I believe it was. anyway. My comment is that the Pack sounds exactly like the Spyra... And also, Goddamn my Orlock Gang hated Spyra... Cheesy bastards. Also, Edit for post I missed. yes... yes it is.

  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From the supers game I play in, Run by the Player of 'The Gunney' Random Quotes. We discover the lost ancient alien Space Craft. then we find out Dr Destroyer's flagship has just stopped over the airspace above the cave systems we're in. Radon: Crap. White Dragon: We can do this Radon! Radon: Your Right! With the extra Ablative Armour you'd give me, I might be able to hit his ship hard enough that my armour breaks and I start going nuclear on it's hull. White Dragon: Not quite what I had in mind... White Dragon OOC: Don't you have 'Over-Confidant' At like 20 points? Radon OOC: Yeh, but I don't have stupid at 20 points as well. Besides. That IS me being Confidant. Luckily for us, the alien has come back to claim the ship and his Comatose wife along with it. So HIS ship has come along and is duking it out with DD'd ship. Warlord pops up with his ship, takes a look around and pissbolts before someone notices him. Hunter: That may be the single smartest thing I've ever seen someone do. Radon: ... So why are we still here? Shadrac: Cause we're heroes. We suffer from random bouts of incurable stupidity. Radon: Oh yeah. Hunter: Not me, I just like shooting things. Shadrac: Plus there isn't anything Random about your stupidity. While this truly epic battle happens above us, we're stuck underground battling Destroyer's agents, Warmachine and Viper troops. Radon Blasts a hole in the ground. Radon OOC: How deep is it? GM: about 3 hexes. Radon OOC: neat, I move into it and use it for cover... White Dragon OOC: How much of your armour is left? Radon OOC: Lets put it like this... Don't give me a celebratory slap on the back when we're finished. During the same fight White Dragon gets MC'd into attacking his allies. he promptly starts beating the living crap out of hunter. Who keeps suffering insane amounts of knockback. he eventually knocks out Hunter and Shadrac. He turns to Radon... GM: Okay, all you have left is Radon. Radon OOC: Hey, Does White Dragon knows Radon explodes if he loses his armour. GM: Yeh?... Radon OOC: Cool, Then he won't attack me. It'd be suicide. White Dragon OOC: Fine! Guess I'll just go kick Hunter around a bit more. Hunter OOC and KO'd: Sweet Jesus. Oh! GM's Discretion how I missed thee.
  4. Re: Dr. Moreau Experiment ... Yeh, Vulcan is right. No hope of getting all of that at effective levels. Lets see what we can do though. Camoflage: Honestly. just pick up Invisibility Vs Sight Targeting. Chameleon. Nice n cheap at 10pts(20Apts). Wall sticking; As far as I'm aware, there is no limitation under clinging like 'doesn't work on certain surfaces'. Some surfaces just need a higher str or impose a skill penalty. And even if there was. An entire wall coated with Teflon is not something your character will come across often, if ever. Its a 0-point disadvantage. I'd listen to Vulcan. Pick a single species and work off that. Maybe splice it with another critter. but stick to something non-physical. Maybe a Canine with the sensory abilities of a Bat... Batdog.
  5. Re: Street Sweepers A character is only as powerful as a DM lets it be. You can have a character with 1,000pts. But he won't be a god if he's limited to 40 active point limit. Its taken a good 3 months of play time to get my DM to let me increase my Character's dex by a full point. (1 point a month. until i finally ticked over from 21 to 22. Yay) If you ever have a player complaining about not enough points, and I meand REALLY whinging or bitching. Slap them. Hard. Either they'll leave or shut up. Either is good.
  6. Re: What's your favorite Champions supplement? I love it. Mind you, I play a character with 110points in skills alone... I also yoink it off a friend whenever i get a chance for my game.
  7. Re: What's your favorite Champions supplement? Ultimate skill. Its... So... Damned... USEFUL!
  8. Re: VIPER as the Mob Pfft, now that I think of it... Who do you think CREATED OHSA and other such crap? Viper use it to keep their competitors' down...
  9. Re: VIPER as the Mob Does VIPER comply with OHS standards?
  10. Re: Wait - you punch WHAT?!? (or what would the damage from an atomic bomb be?) Not as a major part of the story, no. They did encounter a massive biological warfare ICBM. But they did the intelligent thing and let the Tony Stark rip off try and abort the launch sequence. If they go looking for nukes and trouble, I'm sure its well within their powers to find some.
  11. Re: Concepts Killed by 350 My immortal paladin build had to tone back his skill list. i think I scaled it back to 110 points, including the single 10-point overall skill level.
  12. Re: from little plot seeds, mighty games do grow: Share your ideas! Book of Tile Darkness?
  13. Re: Wait - you punch WHAT?!? (or what would the damage from an atomic bomb be?) yeh, check any of the characters for radiation immunity. Then tell them to draw up new characters as their old characters hopefully die quickly. The unlucky brick might be tough enough to have to endure a month long death as her body shuts down and every cell in her body slowly dies as he immune system attacks the irradiated cells. Her body literally devouring itself from the inside out as she is driven insane from the pain... Heaven help her if she has a body regen. because then she'd stuck in a constant state of dying/healing. forever cursed to live in pain and misery until she ends her own life or someone else ends it for her... But then again, I'm a nasty horrible person, you might just want to stick a set amount of damage on it and call it day, make it big enough that people without specific defenses Vs radiation are quite likely to be close to dead and any who are unlucky enough MIGHT die. Otherwise you could end up with the 'Invulnerable PC' syndrome. I'm of the opinion that If my players mess with nukes, I get to punish them for gross stupidity.
  14. Re: I need some suggestions Hahahaha. EDITING! Martial Arts Manuver Pool: 30 points. Invisibility: 40 points. Find Weakness: 20 points. K.O.ing a brick in one hit. Priceless! For everything else, there is Body Drains.
  15. Re: VIPER as the Mob Viper and such are all based, roughly, on the comic book equivalent. Which are all based, roughly, on reality. So there should be at least some basic similarities, even if its just 'Oragnized Crime'
  16. Re: I need some suggestions Toon is a catch-all term for character. It originates from MMO's I believe. Anyway... Either way you build your suit, just purchase characteristics from the suit. write in on your sheet with 2 entries, one without your suit/one with your suit (So, STR 10/40[suit]) This can offset the costs for your high stat cost MA, But your DM may look at it as being a bit cheesy. OIHID is a more in character way of doing it. It also has the advantage that it can't be taken off you or held from you. Your OIF based MA gets knocked out and wakes up without his suit. Damn. Your OIHID based MA get knocked out and wakes up without his stuff on... he thinks for a split second and *bam* he has it back.
  17. Re: (WWYCD) Wake Up Wanted... Radon: Wide-scale destruction. Thats pretty much it. He'll fight and fight and fight then run before his suit loses containment. Unless there is a large quantity of master-villains nearby. then he'd get as close as possible and breach his armour. Welcome to a localized Chernobyl (all the radiation, in a much smaller area). Paladin: Immediately stand up against the forces, Using his god-given powers to raise an army to scour the earth of the taint. He'd likely end up recruiting many lower-power heroes and his old team mates. He might also try and call on a bit of help from the Archangels.
  18. Re: Your FIRST Super Hero Character What else do you need in life? Oh wait, a 5d6 rka!
  19. Re: Your FIRST Super Hero Character First hero I made was a guy called Radon. Irradiated by an unknown element from space. Hans Blicker underwent a change that left him dangerously radioactive. Forced to live inside a rad-proof room. Hans got bored. Quickly. Being the genius he is he quickly found a way to use his own fissile nature to create a suit that harnessed his nigh endless energy potential. Thus was born the super-hero Radon. A flying energy projector with a huge recovery, energy blasts, a tendency to push his attacks and a suit of armour that could withstand a shot from a main battle tank... for a while (goddamn ablative.) He became infamous for 2 hitting a dragon (Pushed, haymakered, RKA and got lucky on the stun multiplier roll) and almost killing Onslaught (goddamn 'bricks' with low Resistant defenses). Got charged with Assault after he was caught on national TV kicking the crap out of a knocked out Blowtorch, stopping to wave at the cameras, then continuing. Arrogant, Over-confidant bastard with serious issues. God, I loved him.
  20. Re: Issue 2 of my webcomic I can't help but notice what seems to be bareflesh underneath the chainmail. Seriously... ow. I kid you not, the chafing...
  21. Re: How would Stronghold imprison your character? How would Stronghold Imprison Radon, My highly radioactive glass cannon in an armoured containment suit. Hmmm... Well, They could just make his suit totally immobile. Then leave him there. His total lack of the need to eat/sleep and his huge lifespan would do the rest. Of course, his energy blasts aren't based on his Containment suit so he could blast his way out of his own suit... But then his radiation starts reacting with the surrounding enviroment and he explodes himself into perma-stun... Damn, this is depressing thinking of how to shut down your own character. Also, First post, yay.
