  1. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Hmm...got a few....... ~Rex.....Looks like, Angel from Marvel Comics, DC's Dr. Mid-Nite, from one of my games you have Big E (Willpower based Brick), Cold Snap (Ice Stuff), Simian (Super Strong Gorilla Man), and Sister Speed Line (Warrior Nun with a LOT of swinging.....)
  2. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Whisper does it, the old fashioned way. Sneakily, then Brutally, Accurately, and repetitively. As the team Speedster is wont to say, "Fetch me my Throwing Ninja!" ~Rex....note a few of the complications actually combine things to save sheet space. Shredded lack of Shadow also counts as Style Distinctive Feature etc ....
  3. Re: War of the Worlds: Martians I'd handle it.....this way...... ~Rex
  4. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Puck is back to being Awesome....same for the Rest of Alpha Flight actually. Great Comic but then, it's Greg Pak...... ~Rex
  5. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play White Dwarf is fine. Besides if you knock on him it would hurt. I see a LOT of White Dwarf types though. Not to many Eugene Judd's ..... ~Rex
  6. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play I'd also like to see more characters Like this..... ~Rex
  7. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Yeah one of my Nightmare 4th Ed players, Shrinking, with Transfer End to PD, Stun to ED. Nobody laughed at the Parasite very long..... I love shrinking characters, especially if they are of the mold of Ant-Man or The Atom, and one of my Favorite set of Characters of all Time, The Original Atom (Al Pratt), and Puck (Eugene Judd) are great examples of making SHORT characters.....Don't see to much of that unless said Short Character has PILES of some power like Density Increase etc ...... ~Rex
  8. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play We call him, Kid Flubber. Would count as something of a Legacy IF, he adopts the Legacy. ~Rex
  9. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play I wouldn't think that a Few Movement schticks violate the "Just a Shrinker" build. I'd NEVER, Cap the DCV of a Shrinker character though, that bonus is balanced out by some pretty hefty and equal negatives. It's gonna be harder to Hit the Ant in the room at a Distance. On the other hand, if you want to STEP on that Ant, it's not to hard. All it takes is some common sense on the GM's part of things, not artificial Cap restrictions, especially ones that just neuter certain power sets generate the cookie cutter builds that annoy me so much. ~Rex
  10. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Yeah I don't understand the inflexible types...."No you can't Have the Main Benefit of this Power, because "insert reason here", so everything then becomes cookie cutter copies of all the same blocks of stats and builds.... Probably why the only cap I care about is a soft cap during creation of whatever number of dice I want being rolled in the beginning. ~Rex
  11. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Heh, nice pick, and I second the mini brick, they tend to be nasty. Here's one for folks. The "Really Good at Something basically Mundane" Hero.....I've done this but then I like Characters like "The Human Fly" from Marvel, and a few others. Crime Fighting Stuntman!...One of the few Characters I've copied blatantly just because he's a lot of Fun to play. Especially at the 400 point 6e level..... ~Rex
  12. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Not me, I will actually make the character that "Just Flies".....and have made the "Just Shrinks" more then a few times. It's never a matter of "What Else can he do?" for me, it's a matter of "What Character is he?" ~Rex

  14. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone Some good Matches tonight. That was one of them, and I hope to see more of that though I still think Bourne/Gabriel would work a smidge better. I like Kofi Solo, kids got MAD skills. Was funny watching Punk and Nash shoot on the mic's. Will be interesting to see how that plays out. Angry Cena works for me as well too. If he can direct that apparent Rage at ADR all the time, I may come around to actually rooting for the guy once in awhile.... The Miz....damn, starting to get on board with the Mizfits..... Still....CM Punk....main man needs to bring some pain and the Camera Men need to focus more on the Divas of Destruction because Beth and Natalya were looking pretty darn good. ~Rex
  15. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play Heh, Superman has called the Martian Manhunter, the most powerful being on earth. Even got a couple of comics around here in the box where Martian Manhunter more then holds his one against the big blue boyscout and that's before planet moving stuff in other issues.... Still remains one of my favorite DC characters, hence while I'll be picking up Stormwatch even though it's, uggh.....Stormwatch Featuring the Authoritah! ....Double Uggh..... Legacy Characters would be interesting. It's one of the reasons I run different timeline arcs to see if a Player will seize that opportunity but no one has yet. Someday maybe. I've got a Legacy Character, the Midnight Avenger, that has an unbroken line in my Campaign from the Gaslight era all the way forward, but most of the players think he's just an immortal character. Only one suspects and even they ain't sure. ~Rex

  17. Re: Common superhero types you've never seen in play I usually wait for folks in my game to start with the Aquaman jokes. Then, I roll out the Aquaman sheet, and slap them around like red headed step children. After that, they Respect the Orange and Green. ~Rex
  18. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone There's a lot of rumors of that over on my MMA side of interest...... ~Rex.....thinks Lesnar would bring an interesting dynamic back......especially if he comes with Heyman in tow....leaves a link of the BEST, Worst Move in Wrestling.... http://www.totallycrap.com/videos/videos_best_worst_wrestling_move_ever/
  19. Re: Ultimate Powers Book character generation game pt 1 Everyone's having RL issues right now, heh. Got a Recall Election on my mind tomorrow so don't slam the gates shut just yet, may have something soon once the ball of yarn untangles. ~Rex
  20. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone The Fallout tonight should be epic.....it's still quiet in tweetland.... ~Rex.....Say bring the pain....but.....still a Nash fan too....Now THERE is a Manager Candidate.
  21. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone Their Wellness Policy is pretty broad. ~Rex......is gearing up for Raw tonight......Beer's in the fridge, Fallout should be good, Punks been silent on Twitter since the "event" and he normally talks more then the Bella Twins....
  22. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone Most of the time I would agree. I'm holding off on the rage though until after Raw. I want to see the fallout. ~Rex
  23. Re: More "Dwarf Planets"...... They're out of control I say! ~Rex....says...restrain your Mad Scientist today.
  24. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone Hey I'm a Punk Fan. Not happy either. This is a Power move though, and one thing holds very true. The only thing cooler then CM Punk with the title, is a really ANGRY Shoot Working Punk, on the Warpath to get it back by the next Pay Per View.... ~Rex
  25. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone Titles mean a lot down there. They take their Pro Wrestling a Lot more seriously then we do. It's a good move. Let it play out a bit. ~Rex
