  1. Re: Sci-Fi Melee Weapons: Bat'leth, Lirpas, Lightsabres, Rykk Blades, Koltari, Denn'B Lightsabre's alone will flood the thread with this build or that build, heh..... Got a few builds laying around for some Bab5 stuff and a few things for my Firefly game as well. Will have to see what box I stuffed them in while rearranging the rooms..... ~Rex
  2. Re: Wally West/The Flash Raven has the type of Origin you could bring back with no issue, pretty much any time. Besides that in the relaunch they've already said, that Grayson's team of titans was around (as part of Starfire's little bit of back history for Red Hood and the Outlaws), albeit, with Cyborg and apparently Wally not having been members? Goofy continuity issues but then I explained all that back in another compressed timeline thread in one of the relaunch threads *shrug*..... Wally at his height, would still continually say how Barry could do stuff Wally could never even begin to think of or accomplish, and the stint when both were around, before Flashpoint mucked things up was fairly interesting but when the relaunch hit, and we got Bart, as Kid Flash again? Count me in the Wally got the Shaft camp because if there was ever a character you could have ditched it was "Impulse".... Ah well, back to topic though. Good build for 175 but that being said as well, 250 minimum for a stripped down "fx" based build, 400 in 6e for something worth playing in a game that's more then the guy that fetches Pizza for the team. ~Rex
  3. Re: Wally West/The Flash Yeah but he went from the least powerful to Barry's equal. The current writers have a plan on the desk to bring Wally back, so it should be interesting in the Flash issues to come. More of a Barry Allen fan myself but I still think Wally got a raw deal in the re-launch. ~Rex
  4. Re: Robocop vs Terminator You realize this has already been tackled very well in the comics, heh. Winner is Robocop. As for why, Because Robocop Can do everything the Terminators can, and think outside the box ala John Conner, and if you read the original Robocop vs Terminator (Frank Miller and Walt Simonson) then the win should be apparent, if not, boil it down to Alex Murphy not losing to a bunch of programming (much as he did in his own movies).... ~Rex...Robocop for the Win
  5. Re: Wally West/The Flash For a 175 point build, well built. For Wally West though, Leaves out a few things here and there (then again you didn't have the points to pay for it at 175). Sort of an odd character before the relaunch you could say other then Dick Grayson he was probably one of the most experienced Super Heroes in the DC Universe. That was pretty much his schtick. Very well built though. ~Rex
  6. Re: Differences between 5th and 6th ed Champions Universe? It builds on it with a few subtle changes here and there. If you are into settings, it's handy to have but in this case I think, the CU 5th Ed was a better book, and that's BEFORE we get into the cover art and Cryptic-ization of a few things. That being said I did buy it to have on the shelf. I don't use it to level furniture like some other gaming product I could think of. ~Rex
  7. Re: Wally West/The Flash Yeah, Mark Waid's Wally West.... Right out of the comics, all the Waid limitations and what not, you can still burn up 400 points easy. 175 is what you use for a typical Fantasy front liner or a Pulp Adventurer (though I can think of more then a few Pulp Guys that could burn up more points then Barry Allen much less Wally West, heh).... ~Rex
  8. Re: Where to find: Delta and Navy SEAL templates? I'll third the Yep. ~Rex
  9. Re: Notes on current Legion of Super-Heroes members Well they can't go into the total backgrounds of every member every issue, especially with the relaunch issues only being up to #3 or so, but you're still talking about a comic series that's basically run since 1958, and since the the current Legion guys are just rolling through with their patched and fixed version (Instead of doing a "relaunch"), it's should all be relevant if you want any accuracy in the representation at all. Toss in long term Legion Fans who remember things like "Cosmic Boy's Worst Costume Ever" and more then a few folks are going to be interested in and looking for a lot of that Irrelevant stuff. ~Rex
  10. Re: Notes on current Legion of Super-Heroes members Just to note....Phantom Girls power really isn't Just Intangibility, it's Extra Dimensional Movement since in the majority of her incarnations, Bgtzl is actually a planet in the Phantom Zone (Or Strongly Connected to it) (Exists, btw, In all but One issue basically so that could just be a writer Whoopsie). She can also See into that dimension (and communicate with it's inhabitants) from the mainstream one, and her powers are basically a function of phasing back and forth between the normal dimension and the Phantom Zone...She's got a few other tricks she can pull off as well. ~Rex
  11. Re: Notes on current Legion of Super-Heroes members Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #239 .....Got one sealed and Official like hanging on the wall. Got another bagged and boarded so I can still read it when I want. Not to hard to find at a good comic shop or con. The actual story is called Murder Most Foul. ~Rex.... Levitz on the Story for that one. Starlin on Pencils. Joe Rubenstein did the cover.
  12. Re: Notes on current Legion of Super-Heroes members Just stick to the current Legion. If you scatter out into the "other" stuff, you won't make it back intact. ~Rex
  13. Re: Notes on current Legion of Super-Heroes members Yep that's the issue, he basically flattens the Entire Legion while trying to prove that he is innocent. Since he can only really do one trick at a time, he's Really good at those tricks. Ultraboy still remains probably if not my favorite Legionnaire, pretty darn close to the top. Without digging out the issue, I want to say that's also the issue where he does some Vacuum exposure feats of Super Strength as well and some of his Use a Power Switch to another and so forth combo's are really well laid out in that issue. You also see what particular power actually got him in and kept him in the Legion, and what makes it different then similar powers Others have. ~Rex
  14. Re: Notes on current Legion of Super-Heroes members My Favorite LSH issue of all time, is the one where Ultra Boy Beats up the Pre Crisis Legion. ~Rex...Notes the Ultra Boy build should be paid close attention to, while it is just one power at a time it's more that he focuses the Ultra Energy into various parts of his body at a given time. That's why he can use "Ultra Strength" and pop a daxamite in the face without pulping his own hands. DC Heroes did a really good job stating him out once and a so so job the second time (between the LSH supplement and the Who's Who supplements...), gonna be tricky to do in HERO.....
  15. Re: Discussion: One-origin world Idea based on the Grimm TV series. Thinks on this Idea, without trying to pollute it with over a Decade of demoing things for White Wolf and others, heh...... ~Rex...can sometimes actually think. It is getting harder as the years go by.
  16. Re: Cool Guns for your Games Nothing will improve the accuracy of that weapon you would be lucky to hit water if you fell out of a boat with it. ~Rex
  17. Re: Conan: The Current Movie in Progress..... Why is LIEFELD in my Conan thread? Some things cross the line Bub! ~Rex
  18. Re: Hand Attack Power + Martial Arts Hmm....I could print those pages off the PDF I suppose and then leave them on telephone poles in Milwaukee since I'm up there every other day practically. However I'll see if I can figure out how to get it to just export a page and then set it up as an attachment, heh. ~Rex
  19. Re: Hand Attack Power + Martial Arts Yeah the SFX is the key thing there but for the most part HA stuff adds right into the Martial Arts stuff. That's one of the things that makes guys like the CU Nightwind so very nasty. ~Rex
  20. Re: Conan: The Current Movie in Progress..... REH even tells you exactly How Tall and how much Conan Weighed. Momoa was actually an Inch Taller and 5 pounds heavier. ~Rex....still enjoyed the movie, has sent off the "here is what you should have done" emails of course and is waiting for the DvD.
  21. Re: 11 Victoria's Secret models hit the catwalk as superheroines Way Way to scrawny. Someone feed those poor girls so they could at least look the part. ~Rex
  22. Re: Zip-Line Flight I know, lately though been seeing a lot of folks not use it though. For a Line Style of flight an Additional limitation would still work, on top of the normal environmental penalty. ~Rex
  23. Re: Looking for how to adjudicate telekinesis issue I require Fine Manipulation, and then practice, time, and a TK weapon Element for the Maneuver. That "Fits" with a lot of the Martial Arts Theme as well. "Here grasshopper poke your finger at this water until you can hit the Koi without disturbing the surface." sort of thing..... It's worked since '82 in my games so I haven't felt like changing it. ~Rex
  24. Re: Zip-Line Flight For this kind of thing, and a GM that seems to dislike Swining and the over all SFX of the power as built, then going with Flight, physical maifestation (swingline, web, etc), and other limitations like only half total distance at a time for going "up", and maybe twice normal for "down" would probably make for a happier DM. Me, I just use swinging, and make the player define the SFX so I can then tell them where their SFX works, and How. ~Rex
  25. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The Entire Season 3 of Top Shots. Then caught up on Rocket City Rednecks, Walking Dead, and the entire Run of Through the Wormhole and Curiosity. ~Rex
