I had both of these kits when I was much, much younger.  Originally released by Monogram Models, reproductions are available from Atlantis Models and should be easy to find online.  It was the story Snoopy And The Red Baron that sparked my longtime interest in World War I aviation.

Aired in the States on CBS, I have the 2006 Region 1 DVD set, which had a small booklet with 3e character stats. I really need to put the series on my Plex server.

I never had any of those, but I did have (and built) this:

 

I have the old Lego sets, Sopwith Camel is sitting on the top of some shelves, the Red Baron set is still new in box. My goal is to hang them from the ceiling, being chased by a Lego Tie Fighter.

You could go for true ancient grognard status and build the TIE fighter out of old wooden Tinkertoys.

From experience as a child, it is possible to build an X-Wing from older Lincoln Logs.

Neighbor had one and actually it did.  Turns out that if you put a 3/8" layer of cake batter in a shallow dish and leave it close enough to an incandescent light bulb, it'll bake.  It'll even be technically edible.  Never saw them try to bake anything else.

My sister had one and it worked pretty well. We used it for over a year until someone fell on it and broke it. Cakes came out pretty good, so did brownies but cookies were hard.

 

And it was pretty safe. It was just a 60-watt bulb in an enclosed reflective box.
