He has never had, until an Adult, regular Dental care, but until just the last checkup he never had a cavity and his Wisdom Teeth came in just fine. SteveZilla
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Does anybody know of a way I can purchase computer parts at "wholesale" price, instead of paying retail prices (even when on sale)?

SteveZilla
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER That's where I went to price out my parent's new PC, but I'm not seeing wholesale prices on their site (about average for what I find on pricewatch.com). Is there some part of the site that I would have to log into first?

Is there some part of the site that I would have to log into first? If you want to get true wholesale pricing, you'll need to contact a distributor directly. Most have fairly large minimum orders and will only deal with resellers. For what the retail world calls "wholesale" pricing, Newegg and places like it are pretty much it. They generally offer pretty deep discounts (depending on the product) over a more traditional bricks and mortar store.
Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I've got baseball tickets for tonight (late birthday present; my birthday, when it falls in the middle of the week as it did this year, is always during the All-Star break). But, it's rainy today. However, Safeco Field has the roll-on/roll-off roof so it will happen.
RPMiller
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Since its been nearly a week you must be subjected to the following: A man walks into a bar and orders a beer. As he’s sitting there, he hears a tiny voice, "Nice shirt!" The man looks around but doesn’t see anyone. A little while later, he hears another little voice, "That’s a really cool tie." He looks around to find the source of the voice. But again, he doesn’t see anyone. The bartender notices him looking around and asks if everything is okay. The man explains that he’s hearing small voices. The bartender says, "Oh, that’s just the peanuts. They’re complimentary."

Mantis
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER THE BLONDE FROM ALABAMA Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the crap table. A very attractive blonde woman from Alabama arrives and bet twenty-thousand dollars on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope y'all don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I play topless." With that, she stripped to the waist; rolled the dice; and yelled, "Come on, baby.... Southern Belle needs new clothes!" As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up-and-down... And squealed... "YES! YES! I WON! I WON!" She hugged each of the dealers... And then picked up her winnings and her clothes, and quickly departed. The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know... I thought you were watching."
RPMiller
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER In one of the forums I frequent a gal asked a question yesterday, "...what do all y'all think?" Apparently "y'all" is not inclusive.
AliceTheOwl
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I could've told you THAT. "All y'all," means everyone, "y'all" means "you in general." At least, according to most of my neighbors. "Yins" is apparently interchangeable with either, but I've never seen it written out; only pronounced. Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER "There seem to be some issues with table with several billion rows." Turns out they're bumping up against the 32-bit integer limit, though there's a way around the issue if you use a particular descriptor of the table dimension which is stored as a signed 64-bit integer. I am reminded of the time I was forced to move from a 60-bit machine to a 32-bit machine, and scratched my head for a while when going from 4320.0 to 4330.0 in steps of 0.01 gave 1024 steps. I was annoyed.

Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER My new friend from this past weekend' date=' and yes that is my hand:[/quote'] Cool! You keeping him/her? We caught a mantis at a roadside eatery a couple of summers back, brought it home, kept it for about 6 weeks, feeding it live insects we caught around the house. It would eat earwigs, but greatly preferred house flies.
RPMiller
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER In a manner of speaking... I believe it is a female. I moved her from the agapantha bush that I found her in, that I was removing, and put her in our front garden. I checked yesterday and she was still hanging out so hopefully she'll take up residence. I've liked mantises since I was a small boy. A guy that lived on our street had a small grove of fruit trees in his backyard and used them for pest control. He used to let us - the kids on the block - play with the mantises and taught us about them.
Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER The only reason you might lose her out of your yard is if you have some pesticide residue that you've forgotten about. We kept ours indoors, partly because my daughter really liked her, and because I've had to spray a couple of wasp nests around the place, and insecticide builds up pretty fast in the predatory bugs like mantids.
