Longest Running Thread EVER

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

I got woken up about 15 minutes before my alarm clock went off by a kitten sneezing in my face. Yuck.

Momcat went back home Sunday after getting spayed; we'll have the kittens another 3 weeks plus because of the vet's schedule. So the immunological boost they were getting from mom's milk is gone. Several of them seem to have the sneezles.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

I expect they will be. With protective momcat gone, they now have the run of the house (as opposed to being cooped up in the master bed & bath) most of the day. Two of the three resident cats like playing with them (Siegfried is a stuffy old fart and just cusses at them), something that wouldn't happen when momcat was still around: she'd hear squeaks of protest during the play-wrestling (or Siegfried's hiss) and become the avenging demoness. Their running and general vigor is clearly improved by several days of being to gallop full-out the length of the house.

We've seen this pattern before.

What's funny is that the all-black litter (and mom was all black too) have been fascinated by Hobbes's white paws. They seem to try to go for those almost as much as the feather toy wand. So Hobbes spends a fair amount of time in high places the kittens can't get to.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

Snow again this morning. And school's delayed two hours. Grumpf. Ah well' date=' at least it's not all Southeast Australia, burning up and blowing away.[/quote']

The irony being that north of Australia (where I am) it has been raining buckets -- lots of good strong rainstorms, but it Victoria it is burning right through the state.

so far nearly 200 dead, lots of houses destroyed, some townships wiped off the map so to speak. Vast destruction.

And to think some of the bushfires were deliberately lit.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

... and on the other paw, I had someone so desperate to get in front of me this morning that she turned against the light, floored it to keep her lead, and then nearly spin out on an icy patch during her lightning-fast lane change. Then, of course, she had to brake and come to a stop. She failed in her prime purpose, though; she wasn't sideways enough across the street, so I was able to move around her on the right without stopping.
