Nope. Machine language is the most real programming language, except for the received traditional commentary of the Torah in Hebrew.

Actually ... en route to learning assembly, we did some dabbling in raw octal.  The assembler converting assembly code into machine language was a pretty obvious thing, actually.  Just easier for a human to read and write assembly, though I can see the attraction of using barenaked octal, as in the saga of Mel the Real Programmer.

The thing I never learned was the underlying mechanisms in implementing virtual memory.  I stopped learning close-to-the-metal programming when I went off to grad school.  At least at the time, physicists often needed extremely fast response (which you only get with assembly and, maybe, custom instrumentation), while groundbased astronomy needed high quantum efficiency (and that comes out of the solid state physics of the detectors) so astronomers generally weren't as concerned with flat-out computational speed in their instruments.  The analysis and theory codes, yes, but you aren't writing assembly then.

Imagine if they all went in a year?

Deism: a believer in god but not a personal god; he created stuff then left it.

Theism: a believer in god as creator of stuff, and personal god.

Atheism: not a theist. Still, no word on whether a deist.

A-deist: neologism, a hard-core atheist.

Roger Daltrey Says the New Who LP Is ‘Our Best Album Since ‘Quadrophenia’’
https://ultimateclassicrock.com/roger-daltrey-new-who-album/

"Earlier this year, guitarist and cofounder Pete Townshend revealed that he didn’t even get a response from Daltrey after sending the singer 15 demos. "Just silence from Roger," Townshend said. "I had to bully him to respond, and then it wasn't the response I wanted. He just blathered for a while and in the end I really stamped my foot and said, 'Roger, I don't care if you really like this stuff. You have to sing it. You'll like it in 10 years time.'"
