Guest Celt
A home of your own I've been looking for a Sears catalogue online contemporary with the period, for reference on the myriad of little things one might want prices for, and came across the Sears mail order home listings. Yep, you could mail order a home through Sears, with easy payments. Here's an image of the Easy Payment Plan.. Here's the page with an extensive article on Sears Kit Houses. Sears itself references their product in their archives here, sorted by year, with images of the advertisements including rough floor plans. Steve Long
Re: Pulp Hero Resources I don't know about online, but you can find plenty of period Sears, Montgomery Ward, etc. catalogs on eBay for reasonable prices.

Cominius
Re: Pulp Hero Resources I found a list of web links in today’s Minneapolis Star Tribune that had retro as the common theme. Several of them seem like they might be useful to a Pulp Hero GM. For creating realistic looking telegrams: http://www.retro-gram.com If you want to spend money you can have a telegram mailed to you (or somebody else), or you can follow the ‘via e-mail’ link and have the telegram e-mailed to you (or somebody else) in a PDF file. They have styles ranging from late 19th/early 20th century, to 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s style telegrams. For 1930s and 1940s radio shows: http://antiqueradios/shows/ The shows are available in a mix of streaming audio and downloadable files. You can also purchase shows on CD. For recordings made between the 1890s – 1928 on wax cylinders: http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu They have a searchable archive. The recordings are available for download, and as streaming audio. For newsreels: http://www.archive.org/movies/ They have a searchable archive. Just searching for the key word newsreels gave me some 280 different files available for download. They have a lot more available then just newsreels. Enjoy.
Air Pirate
Re: Pulp Hero Resources Here a nice page! It has a series of bird's eye view maps of American towns and cities from the 1860s to 1920s. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/pmhtml/panhome.html It's from the Library Of Congress's American Memory site. a great site in itself, full photographs and the like. I been wandering around here for over a week and still making cool discoveries like this! (I feel like I'm wandering around that government warehouse at the end of Raiders of The Lost Ark)

st barbara
Re: Pulp Hero Resources New York City Subway maps ! I could REALLY have used this a few months ago when the players were searching for missing persons in the subway and had an encounter with ghouls (as you do !). Still, thanks for the maps, i'm sure I can use them at some time in the future. Because we were unable to play the last session we are still waiting for the P Cs to break into the Vatican Library and do a bit of book theft. Next session should cover it nicely ! I could REALLY have used this a few months ago As much as I hate to pimp my own stuff, there are a lot of great resources like this on the Pulp Project 1557 wiki... I'd love to have some good feedback on how to make it more accessible.... Thanks! Hank

st barbara
Re: Pulp Hero Resources I don't know whether anyone has mentioned it or not but I got hold of a reprint of two "Shadow" novels ,"The Chinese Disks" and "Malmordo" $12.95 U S (or $aus 29) published 2006 by Nostalgia Ventures Inc, They are also reprinting "Doc Savage" (and I have ordered the first issue from "Amazon") only 128 pages including writups on both "The Shadow" and Maxwell Grant (very SHORT writeups !) It also mentions a website inside the front cover http://www.nostagiatown.com Might be worth a look !
