Re: Pulp Hero Resources

Help! I somehow got into a chunk of You-Tube yesterday which had short movie showing stop motion pteradactyls attacking a zeppelin. It was made by splicing together old 20'30's movies, newsreel footage and some decent edits.

But, as in all things You-Tube, and an overactive cookie / history cleanerI can no longer find it. I think it was called zeppelin vs pteradactyl. Can anybody get me a link?

Here you go:

Re: Pulp Hero Resources

I didn't see this one listed anywhere: http://www.evilhat.com/?spirit

Spirit of the Century

It is a really good pulp rpg, and it has some good characters one could add to Pulp Hero.

I just clicked on the link that you provided "Zindil". Yumm ! (We need an icon for licking lips !) As a friend with a credit card is due over today and we will be buying stuff off the net it is possible that I may think about adding this one to my list ! Thanks !

Re: Pulp Hero Resources

On the PBS "American Masters" series (local repeat broadcast) last weekend was a piece on Lon Chaney. Well worth seeing for the disguise and make-up features of the era, if nothing else.

The link to the PBS site for the show is http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/database/chaney_l.html

Re: Pulp Hero Resources

Not sure if anyone's been paying attention to Pelgrane's See Page XX, a nifty collection of articles for their games which has more recently begun to include pieces about the pulp era (tying in with the upcoming Trail of Cthulhu game they're publishing):

Re: Pulp Hero Resources

My Inbox is generally a sorry collection of commercial notices and occasional letters, but once in a while something worth a look arrives...

Today it was a newsletter from Lego pointing me towards their new Indiana Jones Lego sets. I hope these get released in the UK (not all of the cool Lego stuff does, alas).

Anyway, consider it another source of pulp miniatures :D

I owe you REP

Not a problem, I appreciate the last lot you gave :)

By the way, if you like the look of the Lego sets then you'll certainly fancy a go at playing this. Definitely one for my "games to buy" list, but then the Fedora, custom leather jacket and authentic British gasmask bag in my wardrobe do tend to hint at a slight interest in the pulp / Indy scene...

Re: Pulp Hero Resources

I didn't see it posted so I thought I'd let folks know about it.

Disney's Tailspin. One my all time favorite cartoons and pulpy to boot. They use the D6 system for the stats.

"Tailspin" fits right in to a "Pulp" campaign (aprt from the anthropomorphic animals of course !, I'm not sure I could handle one of my players wanting to play a Bear pilot !:))

The only true change would be that pants would be optional for male characters. :D

The website did inspire me to go buy the first season on DVD. Definitely worth the $25+tax I paid at Best Buy.

Re: Pulp Hero Resources

I couldn't resist this, and I don't even know if it belongs on the Pulp Hero Resources thread...

I found this link on the Terra Incognita web site: http://nagssociety.com/

Here's the Justice League, redesigned for the Victorian Era. I love the Aquaman statue... they're all a good fit into the era.

There's also a revision of the Star Wars characters...

enjoy!
