Re: Chainmail Bikini Effects

I did something like that with the armoring ritual, the tatoo being the spell focus, and the sky clad limit being based on getting the power from Orlanth in the first place...Either use it as a focus for arom or shimmer or sac perm pow to add armor points to a location....or both...:) and of course a Hero might get pow donated by others so as to buff them up for champion battles....

Re: Chainmail Bikini Effects

In the world of Glorantha' date=' the Orlanthi barbarians use woad when fighting skyclad ([i']i.e.[/i], nude). In the game system, woad was given an armor value that wore off as the body paint wore off. On the other hand, at maximum strength, it was better than most of the armor you could buy, and weighed nothing so it didn't impact your Dodge skill. And it didn't work if you wore anything over it.

These are pretty cool effects. :)

My original post seems to have gotten sidetracked from its original intent though, talents for the sword babe in skimpy armor. :D

I was just getting back to it. :D

The Unkindest Cut: +8 Targeting (Penalty) Skill Levels, to hit Hit Location 13 (Vitals) Only (-1), Only With Edged Weapons (-1/4); Total cost: 11 points, plus +15 PRE, Only For Making PRE Attacks During The Next Turn (-3/4), Only If Attack Succeeds (-1/2), Only Versus Those Who Perceived Attack (-1/2); Total cost: 5 points. Grand total: 16 points.

I thought about adding an Entangle (observers wincing so much they could hardly walk), but decided that might be too much---I mean, too powerful. :eg:

YIKES!

You might want to add a limitation on it that it can only be used on minion types. :nonp:

Glutton For Punishment: 25% Physical Normal Damage Reduction (10 Active Points), Character Must Be Aware Of Attack (-1/4), STUN Damage Defined As Pain/Shock Only (-1/2) (Real Cost: 6 Points) plus +2 with HTH Combat (10 Active Points); Only Works If STUN Damage Defined As Pain/Shock Taken In Prior Or Current Phase (-1/2), Side Effect (-2 DCV; -1/2) (Real Cost: 5 Points). Total Cost: 11 Points.

I'm a little confused: what does the limit "STUN Damage Defined as Pain/Shock Only" mean?

Thanks

Oh, this just means that STUN Drains won't allow it to work. It has to be some kind of physical trauma. The description comes from how some defense abilities are built in Dark Champions.

She uses a new effect which occurred to me tonight, the Feminine Wiles Power. It is written up like this:

Feminine Wiles: +3 with Interaction Skills (15 Active Points); Not When Wearing Heavy Armor (-1/2), Only Works On Persons Of Appropriate Sexual Orientation (-1/4); Requires a COM-Roll (-1/4). Total Cost: 7 Points.

Re: Chainmail Bikini Effects

I'm thinking there should be another effect as well-

Change environment +1 to social skills, the environment always conspires so that no matter how little she is wearing, or how it is attached to her body, no "slightly more illegal" parts of her body show, thus retaining the teenage rating.

That's an interesting idea.

Re: Chainmail Bikini Effects

True. However, that's part of Hero's strength.

For instance, I can come up with specific campaign rules for a Fantasy Hero game, and just assume much of the stuff, not bother statting it out. And that's fine.

If I or someone else stats them out, it becomes possible to do cross-genre stuff, which is really fun and really difficult to do in most systems. So I applaud the Chainmail Bikini effects. I may apply them to Conan the Barbarian himself in my next Fantasy Hero game...

I like the chainmail bikini material overall, I was speaking more about the Change Enviornment effect that maintains the "rating" of the game and the Reputation. It just seemed to be me to more an background/enviornment thing that a power of the character. Everyone takes the girl in the chainmail bikini seriously because, in their world, there's nothing silly about it. Like how in comics everyone takes you seriously despite the fact your a adult running around in brightly colored spandex pajamas. :)

Though I can see your point if your planning some cross genre interaction, particularly if its tongue in cheek. Might be good for Torg like setting where character can take their particular "genre" rules with them and enforce them on others.

Re: Chainmail Bikini Effects

Based on comments, I have come up with a variant form of the Eye Candy ability.

Eye Candy (PRE-based variant): +60 PRE (60 Active Points); Offensive Use Only (-1/2), Only For Making Friendly PRE Attacks (-1/2), Extra Time (Full Phase; -1/2), Effect Ends Immediately If Anyone Directly Threatens Target (-1/2), Limited Normal Range (3"; -1/2), Not When Wearing Heavy Armor (-1/2), Only Works On Persons Of Appropriate Sexual Orientation (-1/4), Requires A Seduction Roll (-1 per 20 points; -1/4). Total Cost: 13 Points.
