Enforcer84
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) Just to throw this out there: the official HERO system writeup for The Hulk gives the Green Goliath a calm strength of 70 and a maximum Hulk Smash strength of 130. There is no way Goldilocks is almost as strong as a fully enraged Hulk without the Belt of Strength, so I hope if/when you get around to stating up Banner's better half that into account. Oh he will be. Actually, it will be a while before I work on the Hulk but I am using Darren's write off as a jumping off point.
Enforcer84
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) Some questions for the more Thorcentric of us. Does Thor have trouble breathing in space? Does he simply hold his breath? Or does have a personal atmosphere? One thing I noticed is that Marvel has stressed that the Asgardians are not "True" Immortals. They age, and eventually die unlike, say, their Olympian counterparts. However, Thor is still in his relative prime after what 5000 years? So I give him "Full" Immortality and guess I'll handwave the rest. here's what his physical abilities look like Asgardian God 11 1) Fast Healing: Healing 2 BODY, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Persistent (+1/2) (40 Active Points); Extra Time (Regeneration-Only) 1 Hour (-2 1/4), Self Only (-1/2) 23 2) Resilient Healing: Healing 2d6, any one Characteristic other than BODY, END, or STUN at a time (+1/4), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (35 Active Points); Self Only (-1/2) 120 3) Tremendously Tough Body: (Total: 120 Active Cost, 120 Real Cost) Physical Damage Reduction, Resistant, 75% (Real Cost: 60) plus Energy Damage Reduction, Resistant, 75% (Real Cost: 60) 20 4) Supertough Form I: (Total: 20 Active Cost, 20 Real Cost) Lack Of Weakness (-10) for Normal Defense (Real Cost: 10) plus Lack Of Weakness (-10) for Resistant Defenses (Real Cost: 10) 20 5) Supertough Form II: Power Defense (20 points) 13 6) Super-Physiology: LS (Extended Breathing: 1 END per 20 Minutes; Safe in High Pressure; Safe in High Radiation; Safe in Intense Cold; Safe in Intense Heat; Safe in Low Pressure/Vacuum) 11 7) Stentorian Voice: Hearing Group Images 1" radius, +/-6 to PER Rolls (23 Active Points); Set Effect (only to amplify character's voice; -1) 2 5 8) Asgardian Immortality: Life Support (Longevity: Immortal)

What should his physch lims look like? I have both "Noble" and "arrogant/overconfiden" but is there anything else he's really known for? Pendaran
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) Thor has breathed in space a whole bunch of times, he seems to just be able to do it. (He also didn't have trouble breathing during his magma dunk, and so forth). As for his enraged, it generally seems to have to involve something like Sif being threatened, or Thor going full bore insane, but he ocassionally enters a state called "Warrior Madness" which is hard for him to get out of. When he entered it when insane, his strength actually went up. It's rare though, and somewhat plot devicish, and considering I can only think of like.. two times it happened, I don't think it needs to be an actual power of his, or requires a disad, really. If you wanted it though, it would be something of very high diff to go into, likely revolve around jealousy of something involving Sif/a threat to Sif/personal humiliation, and have a high diff to get out of. Foxiekins
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) Actually, the reason Thor and other Asgardians are described as not being "True Immortals" is that they need the Apples of Idunn to remain young... Without eating them on occasion, they grow old...

(Marvel Style) I scanned earlier posts to see if you'd addressed this already and I didn't see anything... Why no rPD or rED? I haven't yet decided to go the Wonder Woman, cinematic bleeding rout or to give Thor some legitimate Damage Resistance. His durability isn't really questioned its whether or not he gets paper cuts from bullets. I've heard from both camps and haven't made a concensus. It will be there in some form, soon. I just have to make up my mind.

Metaphysician
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) I'd be inclined to make the main function of Mjolnir, outside of the basic +HA, a bigass VPP with some limitations covering the fact that most stuff other than weather control have extra restrictions. Oh, and I'd be inclined to way up the resistant defense. Remember that any example of him being threatened or cut by Asgardian weapons, Asgardian weapons and strength and all. Pendaran
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) I second Mjolnir as VPP, or at least something to reflext that Thor has often used it to do flat out shots of cosmic force/anti force/his big Godblast maneuver, and so forth that have nothin to do with lightning, and the various time tricks and etc.

Metaphysician
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) Thats why it has "Restrainable," rather than OAF. You can keep him from using it under certain circumstances, but to take it away long term, use it yourself, or destroy it, you need a plot device. He is known for his mighty hammer Mjolnir and his mighty temper. Thor has spent the last couple of decades on midgard aiding the mortals in their struggles against all manner of evils. Noble and honorable, but proud and a bit arrogant, Thor is a staunch defender of mankind and has been an Avenger for much of his time amongst the mortals. Personality/Motivation: idealized norse warrior. A man of honor and righteousness. Thor realizes that, while he is a God amongst Mortals, there are beings on midgard worthy of his respect, and concern. Quote: "I Say thee nay!" "Ultron, we would have words with thee."Powers/Tactics: HIt it. If that fails summon storms, shout alot and hit it again. Campaign Use: An expert on Norse mythology (though not much of a myth is it?). Fair knowledge of magic, mostly defense from it. Historical lore & medicine. Oh and he cand go toe to toe with just about any being on the planet, that might come in handy. Appearance: Tall, powerfully built. Wears blue uniform with a red cape. Wait, have we heard this before? Yello Boots, silver cap with wings. Long blonde hair. I'm reasonably sure that if Thor really exists, he would have killed Stan Lee by now. Enforcer84
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) Remember that the Optional Equipment are only for Thor's own series. He never uses them in the Avengers or someone elses title

Metaphysician
Re: CHAR: Thor. (Marvel Style) That's...a lot of points. And a lot of dice. Wow. Its Thor. What do you expect?? He's the guy that has other Avengers going "So we live as long as Thor doesn't get tired."
