Susano
Part two of a possible series. Incomplete as of yet, as it is obvious Leroy needs Dirty Infighting, but I'm at work and don't have UMA handy. I also want to use DC to clean him and Jim Walker up a bit (if needed). Any thoughts? Are you going to do KISS next? QM Probably not, because KISS never did a some about themselves (that I know of). Next is Rapid Roy the Stock Car Boy, then some other characters from songs. And you wanted the best but that's not so much descriptive. Plaster Caster however is about a groupie who makes plaster casts of rock stars...er...junk. And though he wrote a song about it, she claims Gene isn't one of her "models"
bigdamnhero
Re: Character: Leroy Brown This is the "before" version, of course. For the "after" version, knock his Reputation down a bit and add Distinctive Looks: Looks like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces gone. Susano
Re: Character: Leroy Brown I wonder how you'd stat up a boy named Sue. Sue's going to be a rough-and-touble brawler. Johnny Cash does a pretty good job describing him in the song. Iceman is a drug-dealing party boy. Tangled Up In Blue gives a good Pulp-era down-on-his luck wanderer with a mission. Find his red-haired love.
Michael Hopcroft
Re: Character: Leroy Brown "Dr. Feelgood", the LA drug kingpin from the Motley Crue song would be an interesting villain for Dark Champions, although his story is so similar to Tony Montana's that you might as well just use Tony (who is much more quotable). Since someone mentioned "Tangled Up in Blue", how would one do Mr. Jones, the anti-protagonist of "Ballad of a Thin Man" who is the poster child for "Clue: Lack Of". Or "Miss Lonely", the washed-up socialite heroine of "Like a Rolling Stone"? For that matter, Napoleon in Rags would be a great DC NPC concept -- a modern-day "Beggar King" living outside society's rules and laws by choice who is a sort of Guardian Angel to the recently-down-and-out, frequently aiding them without them realizing it. Teflon Billy
Re: Character: Leroy Brown Mettalica songs particularly their Load album spring to mind for good lyric/tough guy mining. King Nothing: The washed up mob boss who doesn't realize his empire has crumbled. Hero of the Day: The Hero (possibly low level Super) caught up in a media frenzy beyond his control. etc... Find his red-haired love. Your description of Tangled up in Blue reminds me of another one. "Vincent Black Lightning" I'll try to find the lyrics. hmm... "Tenessee stud" I first heard it by Eddie Arnold, but Johny Cash does a version too. The Arizona Ranger from "Big Iron" ? I need to do some lyrics searches I guess. Edit "Nowhere Man" I have thought about that one before. Imagine a Brick? who is invisible always on, If being Really nice to him, he could use the option where by paying end he can turn it off. Bad news if He is knocked out in the middle of a mass fight, fire, Giant Monster Rampage, etc.

Michael Hopcroft
Re: Character: Leroy Brown You miss the "created by Jim Croce" part? Croce told the story that Leroy Brown was modeled on one of his Army buddies who had a knack for getting in trouble -- and getting in way over his head.
