Lord Liaden
Re: Russian Champions Universe For anyone reading this thread who is looking for info about Russia in the current official Champions Universe, these are Russian characters from 4E and earlier Champions books, which did not carry over to the new edition. Almost all the current official 5E CU heroes and villains from Russia are written up or mentioned in Champions Worldwide.

Lord Liaden
Official Russian heroes and villains for current Champions Universe Full Sixth Edition character sheets and backgrounds Champions Villains Vol. 1 : Slun ("the bishop") CV Vol. 2: Durak (member of Eurostar), Red Winter (Soviet Guard, Drago, Hammer, Red Dawn, Sickle, White Wolf), The Alcedama (member of the Vandaleur family -- mentioned and briefly described, but no character sheet) CV Vol. 3: Spektr Champions Worldwide: Full Fifth Edition character sheets and backgrounds Heroes: Gyeroy Vedun ("hero wizard"), Stalnoy Volk ("steel wolf"), Vulnapyezdka ("wave rider"), Zemletpyasenee ("earthquake") Villains: Beek ("ox"), Eretsun, Molnya ("lightning"), Slun, Technyik ("the technician") Mentioned and briefly described, but no character sheets Heroes: Russkiye Zashchitniki ("the Russian defenders"): Stalnoy Volk, Zemletpyasenee, Syeryebro ("silver"), Mamont ("mammoth"), Kapitan Ukrayina ("Captain Ukraine") Past Russian supers mentioned in Champions Universe for Sixth Edition Heroes: General Winter (first Russian superhero), Red Eagle, Checkmate, the Swan, Spartanyets ("the Spartan"), Nyepobyedimiy ("invincible”), Bohdan Stanislavski (former Archmage, killed in 1908) Villains: Gorbun ("the hunchback" -- semi-active in Russian underworld due to age) Another hero, the shape-shifter Taiga, was believed killed in 2004, but Champions Worlwide described how he was merely discorporated, and took years to reassemble his body and recuperate. Champions Universe 6E confirms this for current official continuity. EDIT: The history of the member of Red Winter called Sickle, in CV Vol. 2, also mentions his grandmother, Golden Sickle, who with her partner Iron Hammer were members of the "Soviet Super Patriots" during WW II. tkdguy and death tribble

Lord Liaden
Another interesting note about CU Russia: Champions Universe 6E describes the independent city of Larisagrad, in the Ural Mountains. Established by the Soviet government during the Cold War to conduct classified cutting-edge scientific research, including superhuman creation, Larisagrad's funding dried up after the collapse of the Soviet Union, so the scientists turned to selling their services to anyone who would meet their price. The book outlines Larisgrad's history and current operations, and names and describes several prominent scientist-citizens, including Shturm ("onslaught"), the superhuman who leads the powered-armor corps that protects Larisagrad. megaplayboy
For the name of the Russian super agency, how about TROIKA? It's a very Russian term.
Lord Liaden
I just used SAT from the old "Super Agents" sourcebook. I liked its smaller size and narrower scope compared to the likes of UNTIL or PRIMUS -- it felt like an agency created by a rigid centralized bureaucracy. SAT was originally supposed to stand for "Special American Tactics," but when I used them as Soviet super-agents I always implied it stood for one of those arcanely-complicated Russian agency names, like KGB, or "Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti." Lord Liaden
The Red Winter team started with Cryptic Studios, who came up with the names, broad power descriptions, and looks of the new characters. From those Steve Long developed their histories and HERO 6E stats for CV Vol. 2.

death tribble
I was under the impression from my reading of Mass Reaction that Flower was American and the rest were all Russian. Certainly Meltdown, Bomb and Fallout gained their powers at Chernobyl. Ringer was a pet of the Kremlin and Echo was assigned as a telepath working for the Central Committee.
