While all of the other test subjects died (or vanished), Rory gained extensive superhuman powers, which enabled him to escape and attempt to bring the executives of TransGene to justice. Unfortunately, he couldn’t prove anything and only ended up charged with breaking and entering TransGene property. Jailed, he promptly broke out and went on the run, drifting about the mid-west. Personality/Motivation: Despite his experiences, Roustabout seems to still have a strong code of right and wrong and still believes in the rule of law. He seems to be on good terms with the local law enforcement community of v and will turn over captured law-breakers as soon as possible. Quote: “You enjoy your evening now, hear?” Powers/Tactics: Roustabout has a fairly typical suite of superhuman powers. He can fly fast enough to catch up with a speeding car, rip the engine out of said car (with one hand), and can take bullets to the chest and not blink. He also seems to somewhat faster than the human norm, but not excessively so. Appearance: Roustabout stands 6’1” and weighs about 200 lbs, with a muscular build, blond hair, and blue eyes. He wears boots, blue jeans, a extremely wide belt with mirrored “R”s on it, a white shirt with red trim (open to his waist), brown work gloves, and a bandanna worn over his eyes as a mask. Designer's Notes: Roustabout’s pretty much a generic superhero, powers wise, but hey, he’s Caplinville’s superhero, and they’ll back him to the hilt. Many people in Caplinville seem to know who he really is, but they don’t care. He keeps the town safe and helps out where he can. In turn, they ignore the $250,000 bounty TransGene has out on him. (Roustabout created by Kurt Busiek, Brent Eric Anderson and Alex Ross, character sheet created by Michael Surbrook)
Pattern Ghost
Re: Astro City: Roustabout rip the engine out of said car (with one hand) Is 35 STR sufficient to pull that one off? Seems like the leverage would make it tricky. Anyway, nice write up. I need to catch up on Astro City.
TheQuestionMan
Re: Astro City: Roustabout You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Susano again. I love Astro City, found it through San Angelo: City of Heroes QM

Anyway, nice write up. I need to catch up on Astro City. Considering he can fly and all that, not sure if leverage is all that big of an issue. Kenn
Re: Astro City: Roustabout I agree with Pattern Ghost. I think the 35 STR is a little low for him. I'd have gone 40 or 45. But still, a fine write-up.
csyphrett
Re: Astro City: Roustabout How much does a ferris wheel weigh? He held one of those up with one hand. CES

Doctor Agenda
Re: Astro City: Roustabout How much does a ferris wheel weigh? He held one of those up with one hand. CES Depends on how big, but a couple of hundred tons would be in the neighborhood.
Susano
Re: Astro City: Roustabout He didn't hold up a ferris wheel, he held up a length of support tower or some such. But a 40 STR seems to make more sense.
Pattern Ghost
Re: Astro City: Roustabout Considering he can fly and all that' date=' not sure if leverage is all that big of an issue.[/quote'] I was just picturing him flying and reaching down into a car engine. Seemed like he'd be using some of his weakest muscles. No biggie, your adaptations are usually spot on, and I'm not at all familiar with the character. AlHazred
Re: Astro City: Roustabout He seems to be on good terms with the local law enforcement community of v Perhaps here you mean "Caplinville," the setting for the issue "Pastoral" that contains this character? And I agree 150% with TheQuestionMan, I love Astro City, and can't wait for the conclusion for "Dark Age!"

The Arc
Re: Astro City: Roustabout No biggie. I only mention this because when Cammie goes to Herocopia.com to check out Roustabout it lists his powers, and at the end is Regeneration (superhuman class 2). So on a scale of 1-10 it's not that powerful, I guess.
