Michael Hopcroft
One thing I've frequently wanted to do is a game where a goup of Orcs raide the wrong wizard's lair and end up in a modern metropolis, trying to figure out how to survive in a completely unfamiliar world where their sword skills and ferocity are, to put it mildly, not appreciated. DusterBoy
Re: An Orc in New York I think the NYPD's ESU would be on the scene in seconds. I mean, big ugly guys the size of linebackers in armour and wielding swords and axes suddenly appearing in Times Square? Why wouldn't people over react? Daltwisney
Re: An Orc in New York I agree, I think such a scenario would end fairly quickly and badly (for the Orcs, and possibly for some random New Yorkers). One way to give them a 'non-fighting' chance would be to allow them to understand English, but still, Orcs aren't normally portrayed as being especially cooperative. If you can figure out a non-cheese way to pull it off, I'd be very impressed.

[/quote'] True, but why do they have to appear in Times Square? If they appear in a dark alley at night, or in the sewers, things would be different. 薔薇語
Re: An Orc in New York But if they did appear and managed to survive, I can see a whole new add campaign: "So Easy Even an Orc Can Do It." Or, can you just imagine the insights they could give to WoW and DnD developers? "No, no, no! Everything does not taste like Chicken. Everything taste like Hobbit. Mmmm.... Boiled Hobbit...." Manic Typist
Re: An Orc in New York Or, uh, if they appeared near where a sci-fi or anime convention was being held.... that'd give them some time to adjust.

teh bunneh
Re: An Orc in New York There's a book called Who's Afraid of Beowulf where a bunch of Viking raiders appear suddenly in 20th century Great Britain. It was played for humor, but it's been ages since I read it so I can't remember a darn thing about it, though.
Lawnmower Boy
Re: An Orc in New York There was a BBC cameraman who was obsessed with conspiracies involving the Milk Marketing Board. Oh, and a plot and stuff. I think. Someone something funeral pyre? Seriously, there are novels I read as a teen that I remember better.
