Supernaut
Hi, i'm new to the forums and have a question. I have most of the old 4th edition books and was wondering if anyone could point me towards any good fansites/links for more 4th ed. material? I was always sort of intimidated by the HERO system, and got the books mostly for the fluff and for converting to other systems, but I'd like to give it a shot now, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
assault
Re: Champions 4th edition love? Most Champions material is compatible, or at least comprehensible, regardless of edition. This is particularly true when point totals don't matter - which is always, except for when you are building PCs or their followers and stuff. There are a zillion Champions/Hero System websites out there.
brionl
Re: Champions 4th edition love? While there are still a lot of people who haven't switched from 5th to 6th, I don't think you are going to find much 4th edition material around these days. Unless it's an archive of somebody's GeoCities page. If you're working on learning the system, you might as well pick up the new Hero System Basic Rulebook and start from there. Supernaut
Re: Champions 4th edition love? Thanks for the help! Yeah, de money she be tight right now, but maybe I'll give the new stuff a look. My superhero nostalgia fits in with the 4th ed. Champions best, setting wise. Susano
Re: Champions 4th edition love? Surbrook's Stuff http://surbrook.devermore.net/index/index.html Mostly 5e and 6e, I'm afraid. Not much 4e material... if at all.
Tasha
Re: Champions 4th edition love? The differences between 4th and 5th aren't that huge. Regen, and Instant change are done differently, but using powers that are in 4th ed. I wouldn't worry too much about using 5e stuff with 4e rules. assault
Re: Champions 4th edition love? If you ever need help with backwards conversion, ask. There's not that much difference, really. I've been fiddling around with 1-3 Edition characters recently, and there's not much difference except for their general lack of skills, and the fact that they generally used one point of END for five points of any power. It was 4th that made that change. As a result, 4e characters are much, much more like 5e and 6e characters than earlier ones. I'm still enjoying building the early edition ones, though. They modernise up just fine.

Doctor Agenda
Re: Champions 4th edition love? I sometimes go 4th Ed with those powers (Regen and Instant Change) as a house rule. They have the virtue of being uncomplicated.
