Darren Watts
Today is the 12th anniversary of the street date for the original 5th Edition book. Just thought I'd point it out. dw
Ndreare
Cool, I had not realized it had been that long. I remember seeing the 5th write ups in the Fuzion books and waiting for it to come out.it seems like not nearly do long though.

TheRealDeal
You should have waited until tomorrow to post this, and people would have wondered if this was an April Fools joke:)
Darren Watts
Well, that was the unfortunate gag at the time. The original printers gave us the date of April 1st sometime in February, and without even considering how it would be taken by Herodom Assembled (who, if you weren't around at the time, were understandably touchy about having been promised a 5th Edition for many years and had gone through the whole FUZION crisis), we just went ahead and started advertising that date. We got an avalanche of "Hey, that's not funny!!" emails and calls, which baffled us at first. Then we realized what had happened and changed the date to 3/31. Which was a Sunday, IIRC, and nothing was shipping that day anyway, but it calmed down some of the crowd. As it turned out, the printer shipped the books like a week early anyway, so the first people had copies somewhere around the 26th or 27th. But it was DOJ's first encounter with the, ahem, occasionally prickly nature of our fanbase. We got a bit better at it over the years, I like to think. dw
