  2. Re: The NGD at 28/6/04 ? It could be the plate in your head...
  3. Re: The NGD at 28/6/04 ? You lost it, found it, lost it again, found it again, then leveled it, and it's starting to look good? This teaser brought to you by Those In The Know
  4. Re: The Longest Running Thread EVER Heh...atta boy
  5. Re: The NGD at 28/6/04 ? Cuz I'm smart, funny, and have a big... No, wait. That's why my girlfriend is with me. What was the question again?
  6. Re: The NGD at 28/6/04 ? Okay, how 'bout now?
  7. Re: The NGD at 28/6/04 ? Geez! This was down in the middle of the second page! The first page is 3/4 political. C'mon, people. I can't do everything!
  8. Re: Run! Live Action Sailor Moon! Yeah, yeah, nice review. Where are the pics of the girls?!
  9. Re: Answers & Questions Q: What's the best pickup line you've heard at an S&M bar? A: I gotta tell ya, so far I'm unimpressed.
  10. Re: I Got It!! You'll love it, dude. There's a reason it's the "Holy Grail" of the Champions world.
  11. Re: The cranky thread Tell them you're out of that type and would the blue bills be okay?
  12. Re: Suggestions for Brick power Gosh, I've never done that...
  13. Re: The cranky thread Okay, that's just funny
  14. Re: "Grond smash!" and other Grond plots Unfortunately that campaign died a good six years back, I think. It marked the end of my FtF gaming era, followed shortly by the demise of my twelve-plus-year D&D campaign. For about eight years we had a great group that did round-robin GMing. I had just seen whatever that movie was where the guy got really smart, then lost it all again. I think Jack Lemmon was in it. Anyway, that and the "Intelligent Hulk" storyline of a decade+ past gave me the idea. I was originally gonna use The Monster (remember him?), but another GM already used him for a different story line (which itself was a rip-off of Phantom of the Opera).
  15. Re: Is "evil race" an intrinsically rascist concept? Explain to me how you play in any RPG without a stereotype of any sort? Play short, dumpy, flat-chested women, do ya? Aging black men missing teeth? Not a single cop/donut joke to be found? All lawyers are morally upstanding and let their conscience dictate their actions? Never had a Jewish doctor? Never had a black gang-banger? How about a Middle Eastern convenience shop owner? Racism is a fact of life. It can be positive or negative, depending on how you take it and how you dish it out. Personally, I'm not racist. I generally assume everyone's an a$$hole until proven otherwise regardless of race, creed, religion. Sex is another matter, but only if they're hot (and female, and not sheep). I have no idea what the point of the original post was, but y'all are taking this way too seriously. You'll suck the fun out of gaming. Geez, I'm takin' my Irish/English/American Indian butt and goin' for a pint and crumpets, and I'm takin' my horse to do it. So there.
  16. Re: Suggestions for Brick power Just a guess, but... Absorbtion linked to PD/armor/whatever, only to provide defense against similar attack (-1/2). This presumes that no defenses exist prior to the first attack; i.e., the more you hit her with a particular attack, the harder it is to hurt her with that attack.
  17. Re: I've brought you all here today because... 1. A great supervillain contest (generic, not copyrighted) is about to commence. The Ultimates are lookin' for a new member and all the unattached big-hitters are on hand for tryouts. 2. Someone finally managed to convince all these heavy hitters that a "Masters of Evil" style group is better than anything else they've tried. One villain, probably smarter than the rest but not necessarily more powerful, has convinced all these villains to hear him out. He wants to put together a dozen (or more) of the meanest baddies ever to take over MC. 3. Unionizing. The villains are getting together to discuss how they're going to divvy up the city/region/country in terms of crimes. No more stepping on each other's toes. Put a percentage of profits into a shared account from which legal and medical expenses can be paid. It also provides job matching services. 4. Someone real big and/or important person (in the villainous community) died and they're all there simply to pay their respects. An aging villain from the previous generation who may have had a hand in the origins of many a villain and/or villainous organization. They just want to pay their respects in peace and leave. 5. Blackmail. Someone has something on each and every one of the villains, and they're being blackmailed into carrying out certain jobs. It's all part of some master plan that no one person knows (except the Puppetmaster, whoever he is). Maybe they each have to steal something, or each have to kill someone, or whatever. They might be willing to work with the heroes in return for getting them out of their blackmail jam.
  18. Re: Make Your Escape! I haven't captured a PC in a long time, but it always depended on their actions. Sometimes they were just stupid and capturing was the preferable solution to killing. I usually tried to make it a plot device, however. The captured person would always get a good lead on the bad guys' plans, or a good clue or whatever, while awaiting rescue by his teammates. Sometimes the captured player met an important NPC. That sort of thing. I've used it, but I try not to do it often.
