  1. I have not seen it in Oklahoma City, anywhere. (I know I am nowhere near a coast.)

Consider adding in support characters. I know Cyclops and the rest were trained in martial arts but I never got the feeling that Professor X was the tutor. Who was training them in all that paramilitary stuff? Maybe some old soldier from the Howling Commandos?...
  3. That may have been his meaning but he used a bazooka where a fly-swatter would have worked.
  4. You can go way too far with reductionism, you know, the ATTACK power that you have to buy advantages on to give it ANY descriptors besides xd6 damage. I like having my powers a little more differentiated than that if only to keep the page length and reading time down on character sheets. There are other sins that can be committed though - like Mayfair DC's Bio-energy blast, Lightning, Heat Vision, etc. that seemed like they were arbitrarily chosen to represent a limited number of aspects of ranged attacks. I like the Hero take on this far more than anything else I have seen.
  5. That is a good one but, if I were the Gm, I would try to use my simplistic balancing method to keep my work down to a minimum.
  6. This meta-rule just stinks. The most valid way to build a power is the most BALANCED way to build it. How effective is it compared to a 10d6 energy blast. Then, maybe it should cost about the same if it is about as effective. Thus, find the method closest to this cost. The most expensive thing seems to be an poorly thought out overreaction to point-mongers. Based on answers to rules questions, I think Long has pretty much backed away from this one. In electronic "person," he is much more flexible than his rulebook.
  7. I personally wouldn't be offended. Still, if events get too depressing, I believe I would move on. I like fairly upbeat games. If I wanted to be depressed I would watch the news (Oh wait, I do watch the news. ) Anyway...
  8. Re: Mr. Duncan stays Well, I have seen it and it made me be interested and actually like Elektra, something Miller could never do. I thought Duncan's acting was adequate. I can't say much more about it because Bullseye was really the star villain in this movie. Kingpin was used as a plot device and a not-completely-satisfying climactic battle. All in all I liked the movie and it was fairly loyal to Daredevil's background. I have two quibbles [do not read if you don't like spoilers - though I wonder how you wouldn't have heard about the movie by now] 1. Daredevil's dad did not have to be a thug for the mob to make this movie work. 2. Who the heck informed on the Kingpin near the end of the movie? If it was Urich, they should have had a scene showing him making a call or something.
  9. I always thought Kingpin was an Irish mobster. Since they were going for a comic book non-ethnic mob I had no problem with it. I would have preferred for them to have Daredevil take on the Irish Mob though. I like it when action films maturely address the ethnic nature of organized crime.

Kewl! Do you think by January, it might reach 10,000!?
  11. The greatest sin of ethnic stereotyping, IMO, was the reversion of a complex, mature character to a one-dimensional angry black man. Luke Cage in Power Man and Iron Fist had become one of the best written, fully developed CHARACTERS, regardless of ethnicity, in the DC/Marvel Universes. The boom happened and somebody thought they needed to "Youthanize" and "Gangstafy" Luke Cage. It was a horrible hack job.
  12. C'mon. There have to be more versions of Cap that you guys have cooked up. Show us your Captain.
  13. Re: Captain America I would use the top end of the Legendary Stats that are describes the scale for what is superhuman and what isn't in the rulebook. That would place him higher than many people on these boards would want to put him - but, I at least, think they are still stuck in older editions of Hero.
  14. Not to mention that it's just a crude concept.
  15. Re: Re: Re: Re: Im not that easy Would it be a DCV of 3 or 0? If you have an area affect attack the dcv at melee range is 0. Incidentally, I am about to make my 1000th post over on the Agent X thread.
  16. Re: Re: Im not that easy I get the feeling he has plenty of skill levels. Plus, if you miss by two hexes, does it really matter that much with an explosion that size?
  17. Re: Im not that easy I wouldn't care if they were all that high powered. Pretty cool. I remember the old Dr. D giving our team fits. I sat down and plotted for two hours the tactics that would allow us to beat the guy, IF nobody rolled really bad.
  18. Re: Hmmm. THAT sounds like a mighty character.

  20. I don't really know what happened. I just got a little... "obsessive" and had to write about anything and everything. My wife and I both work and she goes to school (actually I do to - I'm a teacher) and we have a toddler so I don't get out much.
  21. I brought up on another thread that I used the COIL mutates as the leadership of Viper in my campaign and ditched the King Arthur connections with King Cobra. It got some positive reactions so I was wondering: What have you done to any of the Organizations that you thought were improvements?
  22. I wouldn't point that out in front of Dr. Destroyer if I were you. That wouldn't be smart.
