  1. I would be interested but I don't know if you could deal with me role playing someone from New Zealand. I am sure I would get all the mannerisms wrong.
  2. What is it with the hygiene issues some of our fellow gamers have? My wife hates to go with me to the FLGS because she can't stand the odor of sweaty, unwashed geeks.
  3. Well, you picked the right avatar then.
  4. Congratulations. You look like you can mix with non-gamers without being "detected." Umm, congratulations on your marriage too.
  5. I'm one of the guys on the forums who thinks that, if the Champions are the flagship heroes, they need to be built on more points. Icons are not average superheroes.
  6. If it was vastly overprinted they all landed somewhere far away from me. I have one friend with a copy and I, sadly, have never found one.
  7. I forgot about the Cyberknights. With a little tweaking they're cool.
  8. With a little elaboration it would work for me. I would like it addressed in the book though. I am not that hard to please I just want it covered. Why, you shaved!
  9. Sounds about right. That needs changing in the next book. I want a satisfactory explanation why every 1st world country isn't running around with the equivalent of Viper Tech and if someone wants to say Viper has more financial resources I will gag.
  10. That may have something to do with the content of the Allies book. It seemed that Hero was so concerned about overshadowing the players that they made NPCs who would prove to be of little use in introduction unless the Ref wanted to work hard at it - and some of the ideas were way out in left field. I pretty much use Executive Sanction and the Zen Team, that's about it.
  11. On a battlefield you have a point. But Viper equipment seems more maneuverable and just all around better for city combat and quick strikes. Primus had the Ironguard units and what appeared to be, for the most part, fairly conventional gear beyond that. Viper's not just a paramilitary organization, it is a criminal organization that seems to have technology that police officers and the military would love to have. So, my question IMO still stands. Why do they have all this stuff that I think law enforcement and the military would love to have and don't seem to? To the point: Why wouldn't a Silver Avenger want to have a personal jet pack or sky cycle?
  12. Oh, another stumbling block is that the newest Marvel stuff is fully of glossy color and is fairly expensive for the amount of content you will actually get.
  13. Just remember that Marvel tons are not real tons. If someone is stated to be able to lift 95 to 100 tons that can mean they can lift trains which weigh 30-40 times that much.
  14. I want to know why Viper has all that nifty, mass-produced gear and the government doesn't. It is one of the great stumbling blocks in my use of these sorts of organizations.
  15. Ah yes, Razorback from my birth state of Arkansas. Nothing stereotypical about that character huh?
  16. 1) Monkeys rule! (well, Apes and Monkeys) I love my monkeys. ahem... not in that way. 2) V'han is easily fixed by something I don't see Champions books address: Bring in the cosmically powerful entity who requires the heroes to alert it/them to the presence of the threat so they can spank V'han. Dr. Strange did this all the time; you know, Eternity, Living Tribunal, Eon, etc. 3) Takofanes not gonna get fixed by me. He's just too much work. I'll drop him because I can do without a weak version of Kulaan Gath. 4) Frankly, powerful mystical villains seems to be a weak spot for Champions. They come off pretty plain jane, vanilla - nowhere near as stylish as Baron Mordo and Dormammu.
  17. Re: Disco is Life! /You call that living? I remember that movie!
  18. My advice is don't let newbies build their characters. Ask them what they want and build it for them. The first time I played Champions, I quickly realized I should let someone else build the character for me so we could actually play - and I had already been a Marvel Superheroes and DC Heroes veteran. The first character I played in a Champions campaign was built by someone else after I described what I wanted. As I played the character for the next 6 months, I learned how the game worked and began to develop my own style of character construction.
  19. I was playing a character called the Invincible Man and an ambush had been planned for my character while one of my teammates was busy fighting in aerial combat over the city skyline. I raced to my car, being a non-flier, only to find Grond patiently sitting on the front hood of my car (horribly denting the hood I am sure). Invincible Man's response, "Hey, do you mind? You're sitting on my car." Grond got up and moved out of the way. I got in my car and drove off to get back-up. Apparently, Grond had been mind-controlled and expected Invincible Man to show up in a costume. Invincible Man rarely wore a costume and was not concerned with a secret identity. Since, I didn't fit Grond's conception of his quarry, I was allowed to take my car and go.
  20. No good name goes unused. Isn't there a Marvel character called Agent X now? My character is a quite different than his although they both share the ability to disguise themselves.
  21. Pretty cool character. Concept sounds familiar.
  22. ShinDangaoh is on to something but I think Trailblazer sounds better than frontiers girl. Trailblazer - frontier scout leading settlers in "Blazing a trail of bullets" Works for me at least. Happy Hunting.
