  2. Given that Dark Champion is on the horizon and DOJ is making a champions book centered around animated hero, do you think there is enough material to make a book centered around the Bad Girls of comics (like Shi, Witchblade and others) or would it at most be just an article in DH? G
  3. Re: Anime based games, have you done one? I have been in a couple and working on one that involves pre-Meiji samurai being reincarnated to battle an ancient evil that they seal away in the 1800s. G

    Pure Rain

This was inspired by Enforcer84 thread on Japanese Hero (If you like this character Enforcer84 feel free to use her). I would be Happy to know what other thinks and how I should spend her last 25 pts (also ideas for Disads will also be welcome so I can rid her of the 20 pts experience bonus).GReina Nishimoto is.....Puru Reinu (Pure Rain)Player: Val Char Cost 8 STR -2 30 DEX 60 18 CON 16 10 BODY 0 13 INT 3 12 EGO 4 18 PRE 8 18 COM 4 18 PD 7 18 ED 5 6 SPD 20 6 REC 0 40 END 2 40 STUN 17 10" RUN82" SWIM02 1/2" LEAP1Characteristics Cost: 153Cost Power END 13 Bullet Proof Spandex: Armor (9 PD/9 ED) (27 Active Points); OIF (-1/2), Activation Roll 14- (-1/2) 0 65 Rain Powers: Multipower, 65-point reserve 6u 1) Healing Rain: Healing BODY 2d6, Side Effect: Things get (May short out Electronics) (+0), Reduced Endurance (1/2 END; +1/4), Area Of Effect (24" Radius; +1 3/4) (60 Active Points) 2 6u 2) Rain Blast: EB 10d6, STUN Only (+0), Reduced Endurance (1/2 END; +1/4) (62 Active Points) 2 5u 3) Summon Rain: Change Environment 16" radius, -1 to Normal Sight PER Rolls, -1 to DEX Roll, Long-Lasting 20 Minutes, Multiple Combat Effects, Personal Immunity (+1/4) (47 Active Points) 5 7 Healing 1 BODY, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Persistent (+1/2) (20 Active Points); Extra Time (Regeneration-Only) 1 Turn (Post-Segment 12) (-1 1/4), Self Only (-1/2) 0 10 LS (Immunity All terrestrial diseases and biowarfare agents) 0 Powers Cost: 112Cost Skill 3 Acrobatics 15- 3 Acting 13- 3 Breakfall 15- 3 Bureaucratics 13- 3 Conversation 13- 3 High Society 13- 2 KS: Perfomance 11- 1 Language: English (basic conversation) 3 PS: Dancing 15- 2 PS: Idol Management 11- 3 PS: Singing 13- 3 Persuasion 13- 3 Seduction 13- 3 Shadowing 12- 3 Stealth 15- Skills Cost: 41Cost Perk 10 Money: Wealthy 6 Reputation: Super Powered Idol (A large group) 14-, +2/+2d6 Perks Cost: 16Cost Talent 3 Perfect Pitch Talents Cost: 3Val Disadvantages 10 DNPC: Her Mother 8- (Normal) 10 Distinctive Features: Mutant (Not Concealable; Noticed and Recognizable; Detectable By Uncommonly-Used Senses) 15 Hunted: Father's Syndicate 8- (As Pow, NCI, PC has a Public ID or is otherwise very easy to find, Mildly Punish) 15 Hunted: Kagamishoki 8- (As Pow, PC has a Public ID or is otherwise very easy to find, Harshly Punish) 10 Psychological Limitation: Aversion to Killing (Common, Moderate) 15 Psychological Limitation: Cynical and Untrustful (Common, Strong) 10 Reputation: Daughter of a Yakuza, 11- 5 Rivalry: Professional (Other Idols; Rival is As Powerful; Seek to Outdo, Embarrass, or Humiliate Rival; Rival Aware of Rivalry) 15 Social Limitation: Public ID (Frequently, Major) 5 Social Limitation: Teen-ager (Occasionally, Minor) 10 Vulnerability: 1 1/2 x BODY Fire + Heat Attacks (Common) 10 Vulnerability: 1 1/2 x STUN Fire + Heat Attacks (Common) 20 Experience Disadvantage Points: 150Base Points: 200Experience Required: 0Total Experience Available: 0Experience Unspent: 0Total Character Cost: 325 Height: 1.63 m Hair: Black with Blue Tips Weight: 48.00 kg Eyes: Brown Appearance: Reina is a willowy girl with a well balanced figure for her size. She has a sweet voice and a natural grace. She appears cheerful and enthusiastic (GENKI!). She wears her long with dyed blue tips. Age 17Personality: Reina now knows there are two kinds of people in the world, those who use and those who get used and she will never again be the latter. To this end she personally takes a controlling hand in the handling of her career and what missions she will undertake to help the other heroes of Tokyo. Deep down inside though is the little girl who is caring but for a change needs someone to care for her. As mentioned earlier most people don’t notice any change, but in her last couple of battle, she has left without calling down her healing rain.Quote:May this rain come and washes away the darkness in your heart. Background: The daughter of a former idol star and a yakuza, Reina Nishimoto grew up in a loving home. Her father would pamper her while her mother would push her to take acting, dancing, and singing lessons but not to the extent that the girl did not have a life outside these pursuits. Reina’s mother knew for sure her daughter was headed for super stardom, unfortunately so did her father. Little did Mrs. Nishimoto or Reina knew of Mr. Nishimoto’s work for the syndicate or that he knew that little Reina was a mutant. Mr. Nishimoto bided his time watching his little girl for any sign of powers, but as she grew older it appeared her powers would never manifest. Shortly after she turned 14, Reina was taken to an outdoor audition for a major musical. When the nervous Reina got onto the stage to sing her tryout song, an incredible thing began to happen, it started raining even though there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Mr. Nishimoto knew then that his daughter’s power had finally manifested. He was now ready for part 2 of his plan. He will set his Reina up as a super powered idol and use her powers to strike out at the other syndicate as his bosses order him. Acting as her agent, within two quick years, Reina’s face was will known as the super heroine Puru Reinu (Pure Rain). Things were going well for father and daughter, until one fateful night. Her father had supposedly flown ahead to Osaka, leaving his daughter alone in her apartment looking over fan emails. While she couldn’t answer every one, she always tried to keep in touch with her fans. One email caught her attention, telling her of a yakuza meeting tonight at bay side warehouse. Having nothing better to do, Reina put on one of her costumes and traveled to the meeting site. The thing she didn’t know was the email was actually from a rival syndicate who had figured out Mr. Nishimoto’s secret. So it was her father meeting with his boss that night in the warehouse. Reina’s world was shattered, the man she knew as her father had been using her all this time. She felt used and dirty. So in her anguish she called up such a downpour that threatened to kill her and everybody else at the warehouse. Luckily for her, other heroes arrived to take control of the situation and saved her, her father and the other men from drowning. A year has past since that night. Reina has gotten her feet back onto the ground and has dedicated herself to rebuilding her image. To her fans, she seems to be as she always was; cheerful, happy and willing to lend a hand to Tokyo’s hero community. But to those closer to her like her mother, there is noticeable change. Gone are the naïve girl and her optimistic spirit to be replaced by a much worldlier savvy and cynical outlook. Obvious the pain of a year ago has still to leave her. Powers/Tactics: Puru Reinu will call up one of her rains to make it harder to see and to keep their footing. She will then summon up blasts of rain water to hit and stun her opponents. After the battle, she will call down a light healing rain to heal any bystander.Campaign Use: Something is changing about Reina’s powers. Thugs are complaining that her blast now burn as if it was acid rain. The darkness in Reina’s heart has been growing and now threatens to change her into a villainous. Can the PCs help before this happens and help cleanse Reina of the last year’s agonies? Reina is putting on a concert to help the homeless. But little does she knows that a former rival of her from younger day has now also gained powers and has shown up to show her up. But when this brawl between two super powered girls get out of hand, it’s up to the PCs to save the crowd and bring peace between these two girls.
  6. Re: TUB and Anime/Manga Doh:) Didn't think about checking Surbrook's site for either char. But good idea that. G
  7. Having looked through my copy of TUB today I got a thinking. How would one design STR Reduction devices like A-ko and Maris the Chojo the Super Gal? I was thinking of a supress only usable on one self (streching the rule?) with a set effect and either OIF or IIF. Any Ideas? G PS It could also work with some one who desn't know their own STR.

  9. Re: Japanese mastervillain/hero team aid requested. One last thing Enforcer, Don't be afraid to use what is often called Engrish. The Japanese love taking English words (and misusing them) and using them for products and such. So I can see a hero/ine/villain having a name that is in Engrish. G
  10. Re: Japanese mastervillain/hero team aid requested. Ichiban is also used to denote quality and placement. For example, there is a restraunt in Omaha called Sushi Ichiban or #1 Sushi. G

  12. Re: Lady May Chiltren Koshka I have heard arguement for and against the flexibility issue and given that the data from the time period is incomplete and often biased against the corset (numerous Dress reform pamplets), I would say it is up to any GM whether to charge the flexability issue. Also people vary on regard to flexability and not wearing a corset may or may not matter. Also, the person on your list probably doesn't wear a corset 24/7/365 (After all taking someone who is flexible and having her wear a corset an afternoon is different then someone who always wearing one). But I would err on the side of caution and not add the penalty to agility, just for your arguement of being used to it (After all there are accounts of women mountain hiking in full victorian garb). Yes, if a woman took off the corset, she would no longer have the problem beathing and all. But a woman who had been wearing a corset since her early teen, would have weakened back muscles. So not wearing a corset would be highly uncomfortable to her. In fact by all appearances corsets help relieve back pain but at a cost. This is why I would consider it a full value disadvantage. G
  13. Re: Lady May Chiltren It always make me happy to make someone's morning. Glad I could be of service Shelley. G
  14. Re: Lady May Chiltren I still raised her weight a little Agemegos. What I was thinking for Corseted was this; -1 to Recovery durning any strenous activity (such as combat). -1 to any skill requiring flexability (Good Idea Agemegos). If a corseted lady takes a phase to catch her breath she would still get her full recovery. (according to one book I looked at, a corseted woman uses her accessory respiratory muscles (ie. the upper diaphragm) to breathe. This is also how pregant women and obese people breathe. So I think a corseted lady if she took a moment out of combat to have a recovery, can get it at full). For Tightly Corseted; This version uses the optional LTE Rules. All endurance is considered to be long term endurance and thus can only be recovered at her recovery rate per 5 hours of rest. -2 to any skill requiring flexability. Just some Ideas G P.s. I have noticed you using Corsetted as oppose to Corseted. Is the former the correct way? MS Word says it is the latter, but I am not about to take MS word for it:)
  15. Re: Lady May Chiltren Shelley thanks for your comment, I would like to take this chance to compliment you on your Regency site. And if I had made her the wife of an Earl, I would of used your status chart, but I came up with the Courtsey title to refect that fact that daughters and any sons of the after the first, while of the proper lineage were considered legally as commoners and generally were given the title as courtsey:) G
  16. Re: Lady May Chiltren Agemegos 1. What would you suggest for a weight? 2. You can have your profession skill as a everyman at 11- (See side bar on page 31 of the Green man book) 3. Don't know what I was thinking when I wrote nanny, of course you are right. 4. Thanks and I am still trying to figure out what it means in Game terms. I also figure there is an upper level version called tightly corseted that would have a greater chance of causing the vapor. (That is why I didn't have Vapors as a disadvantage Mentor). G

She tends to wear stylish clothes appropriate to one of her status.Personality: May is a straight forward type of girl. She will instantly dispense with the nicety of society if it allows her to get the heart of the problem. This of course has led to talk about her, from her being on the eccentric side to the fact that she has improper relations with men (not true, but people do talk). But May is bothered little by such talk and tries to live life on her terms. Once people get to know her, they realize what a good and loyal friend she can be.Quote:There are angry spirits here my friends, we must be very wary this time. Background: May was born the third child of the Earl of Thorndale. Her mother died soon after of a fever, leaving the young May to be raised by her father, brothers and the servants. It wasn’t until May’s 10th birthday that her father being prodded by sister, hired a governess to rein in the young girl. While the young May learned to be more Lady-like, she still maintains openness with men, one generally don’t find amongst young women. Her life took a turn for the bizarre when she was 16 and came down with the same fever that killed her mother. Everyone feared that they would lose May the same way. But May’s mother, who was always watching her little girl, used the powers granted to her to save her daughter from her fate and was finally able to move on. All May remembers of this is a dream of her mother coming to her soothe her brow with water. After May recovers, she discovered that she could sense the presence of spirits and even allow them to talk through her. It was during her coming out ball that, May met a group of men interested in the study of the occult (and dealing with it when necessary). May feeling this was what her life should be about took up with the group as their medium. Since then she has help in couple of cases of haunted houses. Powers/Tactics: May can channel the spirits of dead and allow them to talk through her (i.e. A medium). She is quite talented with the bow and practices every chance she gets (and loves archery competitions). In a situation that calls for battle, she will stay in the background and use a pistol if she needs one or a bow if she can get her hands on one. She will try to keep out of the way of any front line fighter and will follow order of whoever is leading the mission.Campaign Use: May works best on a team. Her knowledge of the occult especially with Ghosts is invaluable to any team of supernatural hunters. She is also able to go and be at places where it would not be proper for a gentleman to be.
  18. Re: Ambrethel Map in Free Stuff Wow Keith that is one great map. I have only one question, how much do you charge for freelance work? G
  19. Re: Heroes, healers and vigilantes... Also CKC is still a good research as it is, after all just because you are a villain and they are villain, doesn't mean you will get along. For instance if your team have stolen the Ruthford Diamond that enhances psionic powers, well Menton or PSI might come after them. Also Viper may not like the competetion or may try to recruit them or use them as tools. Just Some Ideas..... G
  20. Re: Encumbrance Well the Fleet of Foot guy did buy up his movement and thus having spent points on his movement he should have an advantage over Captain Mosey when carrying heavy things. Not that your system doesn't allow for that, but one can assume that Fleet of Foot guy have really strong legs and back muscles to still be able to move. Also what if Fleet of Foot guy also have a speed of 4 and Captain Mosey has a s Speed of 2, in a round Fleet of Foot guy will still be able to move farther carrying the same load. But having extra speed or movement is something that makes Fleet of Foot guy different when it comes to carrying the load. But I agree that it isn't that much more extra math to determine it. G
  21. Re: Victorian Wealth: Still Helping a Friend Tom I couldn't agree more on those income figure. Thanks though for the book head up. I will inter-librabry loan it and look in depth at it. G
  22. Re: Victorian Wealth: Still Helping a Friend if a Doctor or Lawyer would make 800 pounds a year then perhaps the base should be 800 pounds, $4000 =modern $75,000. Also I have hit the fact that the US dollar was actually $11 dollar to the pound through out the Victorian era.
