  1. Re: Munchkinpalooza I'll let single powers go, but the entry must use 60 points and with an active point cap of 75, that makes it difficult to munchkin.
  2. Re: Munchkinpalooza Well, the vote itself will be public to anyone. But for simplicity, assume it is Champions Genre.
  3. This is a contest. I will accept that first 8 submissions that meet the rules stated below and start a vote. I'll make sure that the winner gets rep and maybe others will give the winner rep too. The Premise: Your GM has asked you to build a character. You are limited in that you can spend no more than 60 total points on a power framework. The Rules: You Must Munchkin the Design You Must Spend All 60 Points Active Point Cap is 75 Your Math Must be Legal The Catch: When the vote goes up, your framework will go up against 7 other frameworks. You want to have the framework the GM will most likely select out of the 8. This isn't a contest for the best munchkin, but the best GM acceptable munchkin.
  4. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Bah. There is a reason why I don't post here that often. People love to try and haul those that disagree with them (or even answer a simple question). So, um, I'm stepping out of those threads early.
  5. Re: Announcing — DIME HERO ADVENTURES! NEED BRAINS - ERRRR PLAYERS! I like the idea. It sounds great.
  6. Re: Two ways but which do you prefer. I'd have to say, go with #2. I don't like the idea of buying down your Running to compensate for a faster SPD.
  7. Re: Your "2005" Pet Gaming Projects My Easthaven Game can be added to the list. http://aldaric.com/forums if you want to read the story thus far.
  8. Re: A embaresing request Orgasmo?
  9. Re: Nethack Hero If it is so easy, we should have it all converted in no time then.

  11. Re: Damage Reduction Desolidification, Only to Fire Based Attacks (-1), Reduced Endurance, Persistant, Inherent
  12. Re: Can't have power defense, limitation or disad? Because there are ways of getting power defense beyond spending points (Independent, UBO) I think a 5 point Physical Limitation would be most appropriate.
  13. Re: New HG book concept - opinions requested And weapons of mass destruction.
  14. Re: New HG book concept - opinions requested "Too many cooks spoil the broth." If you want to write the book but don't want to do it yourself, get one or two people together to help. The more people you add, the harder it will be to read. I think two people should be the most working together on a book unless you have a very experienced editor who knows exactly what he wants to see and will be doing the final rewrite to give it a single voice.
  15. Re: Damage Reduction If you were building a high velocity vehicle that is designed for ramming enemy vehicles to quickly disable them and take minimum damage, I'd think Damage Reduction would be a much better, and cheaper way to cover that.

  17. Re: Nethack Hero Just to clarify, I was talking about converting NetHack (or the other ASCII game, ADOM) to Hero rules for a table top game. I think ADOM is a better overall ASCII system for the purposes of converting though as it actually featured skill improvements and talents every 2 levels. Converting the talents in ADOM over would be simple. Half of them are Combat Skill Levels. The hardest part would be converting class powers, spells, and monsters over.
  18. Re: Would you allow... In a campaign with 450+ points and the understanding that the VPP can never improve it above the DC limits of the campaign.
  19. Re: Streetwise and Contacts As I see it, you should have both if you want to have street contacts. Because streetwise you know how to function on the street. Contacts are the people you go to when you need to do stuff. But if your a suit going up to a street contact and have no streetwise, you might annoy the contact for drawing unwanted attention. However, having streetwise gives you no rep with the person and you need to either roleplay it out or do something to show your worth it. So Streetwise, imho, gets you to a contact. Contact makes the exchanges possible.

Re: Tmnt For a Progression, I'd go like this: Random Thugs Small Foot Detachment Moosers The first real battle with the foot should be an all out assault. Remember, while the foot might send a half-dozen to bring in one reporter, those who can fight get 2 - 3 dozen men.

  22. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Our neighbors were having another domestic argument outside the house today. The husband was shouting "Come on! Hit me again! Hit me again!" Then later the wife was saying something about "I'll bite your finger off!" We have Transdimensional Gateway to the Mouse Universe. The mice are invisible unless killed by cats. But of course their droppings are visible and as you all know, cats can see invisible things. I will now recount 2 AM last night. Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Cat 2: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Cat 1: Mrow? Cat 2: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Cat 2: Mrow! Mrow! Mrow! Mrow! Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Alice: You think there is a mouse out there? Cat 2: Mrow! Mrow! Mrow! Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Josh: I'll go- Cat 2: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Josh: -check. Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOM!!!! Josh: Alright, what is it? Cat 2: MROW! (Looking behind fridge) Josh: I don't see anything. Cat 2: MROW! (Peers under fridge) Josh: I'm looking, I don't see anything. Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOO- *breaks* Josh: I'm going to bed now. Cat 1: VROOOOOOOOOOOOM!

  24. Re: "I've only got one shot . . ." Introduction: Jack Town is one of the few locations that can still be called a town. Resources are dreadfully limited and survival is pivotal on the water supply. Things have been pretty good for a year or so. The rain comes, it is processed to remove contamination and the town goes on. But this year things are different. A dry spell is putting Jack Town at risk. The town figures it needs about 10 barrels of water. If the town can't get at least that much, they will be forced to have a lottery and pick five people who will have to die. There is, however, an option. Across the wastelands there is an old military bunker. Two years ago a single man set out to check out the bunker. He found that the entrance had been long blown away. At the bottom of the bunker he discovered a large pool of water. It could easily fill 40-50 barrels of water and that's assuming that no more water has been collecting in it. The town had sent out three men to bring back some water but the men never returned. Scouts found their bodies located about three miles out of the location. It seems there are some nasties in the area. Getting in and out alone is easy but big equipment alerts the nasties. The town needs voluneteers. They either need volunteers that are willing to die to preserve the water supply or they need volunteers to retrieve water from the bunker. Challanges: Any one of the following could be appropriate. The area could be littered with mutant nasty beasts. The area could have some old automated military defense platforms that attack anything it detects. The area could have some scavangers that discovered the water supply and are protecting it to themselves. Then there is the water itself, located in the bunker (its actually an abandoned Missile Silo) it is highly radioactive. That means it needs to be quickly gathered and transported back to town so it can be decontaminated. Anyone that spends too long in the silo could be exposed to critical levels. Fortunately, the team sent has some anti-rad spray so that anything that clings to the barrels can be cleared away to make transportation into town safe. Aftermath: The next time you go, make it years later. The team that went are hailed as heroes and now the time has come for a new challange.
