Super Squirrel got a reaction from Old Man in Coronavirus
Somehow, I've managed to be lucky in that I haven't even had to take a Covid test yet. I need to get a booster. I tried to get one a few weeks ago, but the girl working the pharmacy counter couldn't figure out how to process my insurance card to recognize me as covered. I haven't attempted to reschedule yet.
I attribute my luck to leveraging my current job role to a permanent WFH and keeping my social engagements to individuals who are responsible. The closest call I had to exposure were at a LARP event where someone showed up with the 'VID that didn't let anyone know, but being an outdoor event, it was a low exposure risk. I was lucky, two others at the event were not so lucky.

How's this?
Luck 4d6 (20 Active Points); 1 Charge (-2), Only to help SuperSquirrel to get a job Power loses about half of its effectiveness (-1), No rainchecks or take-backs Power loses about a third of its effectiveness (-1/2) Real Cost: 4

That sounds like it works for deleted files, but not for recovering data files that were corrupted or overwritten with bad or wrong data. It was those latter cases that caused the real grief.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
You are correct, those types of problems are handled with the tape recoveries. Never had any grief from those with the exception of the amount of time it takes. The nice thing is that they are pretty much automatic once they are started. In my experiences anyway.
For the really bad problems, we have just rebuilt the server that was having the problems. Which happened to us back in July when we got hit with a rather malicious malware/virus. It was faster for us to just rebuild servers than trying to troubleshoot and 'fix' the problems. That was a fun week let me tell you.

I'd like to know that myself, actually.
The humidity levels, maybe? Or it might be a core temperature thing.
Hmmmm.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
Thanks for the kind wishes, folks. I'm not panicking - I only need 50% to pass, and even without knowing about Module 6 I was well over that when doing my practice runs! It helps that half the exam marks come from 20 multiple choice questions (2.5 marks for correct answers, -0.5 marks for wrong answers). I should get the first 40% or so just from these.
The subject matter in Module 6 wasn't that difficult either, in fact I'm now looking at it as an easy way to pick up marks!
