  1. Re: Items of myth and legend You have a good point, but I am trying to keep the feel of "Indiana Jones". I realize on face value both are considered mythological. I am trying to tie in the Nazis' search for paranormal items during the 30's and 40's and things scientists supposedly created during the same time period.
  2. I am trying to find a good list of items or "artifacts". I am looking for items such the spear of destiny or items supposedly created by real scientists (Tesla's death ray). I am trying to stay away from mythological items like Excalibur or Zeus's Lightning Bolts. Anyone have any ideas?

  4. Re: Anyone else hate Wolverine? When Wolvie first appeared he was an interesting character. The constant struggle to maintain control and not give in to his "berserker rage" made the character more real (to me anyway). Then his background got changed and he got morphed into "everything that is cool in the universe guy". Lets see, he was a samurai, a secret agent, an assassin, a ninja (I think, have to go back and double check that), a shield agent, and whatever else I'm forgetting. The character just became a joke. When Xmen movies, or more appropriately the Wolverine movies came out, they just continued the joke. Scott is the leader of the Xmen, but you would never know it from the movies. Glad Whedon did Astonishing Xmen. At least Wolvie wasn't as annoying in it and Scott was a leader.
  5. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Recent Champions game: Sentinel - 70 STR Brick Sentinel and his team are meeting with some federal agents at a rather trendy restaurant with a large outdoor seating area. Viper attacks during the meeting. Sentinel gets outside first and sees a Viper five team setting up heavy "blaster" on the roof of the three story building across the street. He grabs the closest table and and flings is at the Viper five team and rolls a "5" to hit. Sentinel - "Your table is ready"
  6. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... This was a pretty standard tactic of my group as well. We just called a "put down". No roll required, just cost the PC their phase. We used 0 to -10 Stun as recover on their phase, -11 to -20 as post 12 recovery only, and -21+ as out of the fight.
  7. You and/or your team raids a VIPER (or equivalent in your world). After fighting your way through the base, you come across a hidden medical lab and find a 1 year old child in bed with monitoring equipment attached to the child. The child is obviously upset due the sounds of the fighting. You finally have the chance to go through the medical logs and discover the child is a clone of your character. Apparently VIPER had gone out after some of your public battles and collected blood, hair, and tissues samples you had left behind during these battles and used them to clone you. The child's DNA is a perfect match your DNA, even down any changes that occurred when your character acquired his/her powers. VIPER had planned to raise the child to be a weapon. Now, what do you do with the child?
  8. Re: How do you use The Champions in your campaign? I don't use them either.
  9. Re: DC / Marvel Characters in Champions Universe IMO comic characters rarely translate well into RPG game. If they are in your setting, I would make them NPC's with little actual combat involved using them.
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From a Pathfinder game. The PC's have managed to free approximately 1200 enslaved Orcs and turned them into a small army. Using the Orc army, the PC's sack a large city. The PC's want the Orcs to create banners for each of the tribes in the army and fly the banners over the city. Without thinking I decided there were six tribes represented in the army, so six banners were raised over the city. It took about 6 seconds to get this response from my group: "More flags more fun!" (the slogan for Six Flags Amusement Parks) So for the rest of the night I was treated to the theme song for Six Flags and different admissions specials the PC's were planning to offer travelers after they changed the name of the city to Six Flags. Sigh...
  11. Re: What Do I Throw At Them? You hit them with lots of drains and transfer attacks. You use images & invisibility to hide your villains, and you bring in one or more of the major villains from the books. -OR- Start a new campaign
  12. Two very powerful and opposing trios (total of six) have begun to have an all out fight in your city and they don't seem to care about the collateral damage or the innocent bystanders caught in the middle of the combat. Neither you, your team, or the authorities recognize any of the combatants. Sorry if this has already posted.
  13. Re: World Without People! Quantum - Would begin going back to the last two days people were known to be on the planet by coordinating w/the space station to review as many personal logs and recordings as possible. He would use his ability to detect unique energy signatures to see if he can detect what caused the disappearance. Of course he would help the crew on the space station too. Stone - This is above his pay grade. Not much in the way to skills to help here. He would follow the lead of the space station crew. Spectre - Not much he could do. But he would most likely enjoy the peace and quiet
  14. Re: Super powered Nation-The Gathering storm Quantum - (Option 2) "No. You still missing the point. The super-powered force you wish to create would be forced to become an occupying force. Who decides what is right and wrong? Who decides the punishment? You? You are simply replacing the current overlords with yourself." Stone - (Option 2) "You're crazy" and he would begin to try and fight his way out Spectre - (Option 2) would go desolid, blackout the room, and begin taking people out until his presence drain has worked enough to get the crazy bio-chemist to destroy the serum and send him back
  15. Re: The Golden Apple Quantum - Being a former computer programmer, would make copies of the files to review. He would then hand the original over to Primus. Stone - "Hey Quantum, what do you want to do this flash drive thing? Oh, some loser named Hammer challenged me to a fight so I'll be back real soon." Spectre - Would keep it to find out who needs to be punished and would visit them
  16. Re: Superhero Images OK. I think I figured this out. Thanks! This is a sample of my friend's work. I have been begging him to post on here and submit some samples to Hero. What does everyone think?
  17. Re: Superhero Images OK. Apparently I'm a goober. How do you attach an image to a post? I tried the "insert image" button, but it wants a URL location for the image.
  18. Re: A Super powered Nation Quantum - arrest the scientist, take all DNA samples, and destroy the all the associated equipment. Then ask the scientist, "If you could build a floating fortress, why do you need super heroes?" Stone - similar to Quantum, but would promise to visit Africa for a little while Sprectre - Would not be involved in this scenario

    Oil spill

Re: Oil spill Quantum - Doesn't need to breathe and can handle the pressure on the floor of the ocean. He would go under to inspect the damage and size up the situation. Unfortunately, his AP particle beam would be of little use. He would throw a couple of entangles (5E character) to see if that would slow the leak until a better solution is found Stone - Can handle the pressure, but has to breathe. Once he had some breathing gear and some light, he would head down to take a look. He could easily crush the pipe closed, but not sure if that would hold for very long. Spectre - This would not concern too much, although he might go after those who he felt were responsible.
  20. Re: Need helps coming up with "arm" powers Right Hand Man - creates one duplicate
  21. Re: Storn Idea to full picture Year 7 Giest: A darkness controlling & desolid "dark knight" type with the ability to induce fear.
  22. Re: Help! It's on fire! If it's a forest or major grass fire, a brick could dig a fire break. For a small fire, I would probably give a little latitude to speedsters. All that zipping around does generate some air movement and might help put out small fires.
  23. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Last night game: Player 1 (OOC) - Man, I walk in and everyone stops talking Player 2 (OOC) - Of course, we were talking about you Player 1 (OOC) - Was it interesting? Player 2 (OOC) - No, we were talking about you
  24. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Tonight's Buffy/Supernatural game Tasha - Witch, who owns the nightclub in Las Vegas the team gathers at Anthony - Med student, physic Background - a demon possessed a young girl and killed a woman in the club. The group then killed the demon...and the young girl. Tasha explaining what happened to Anthony - "I was cleaning my demon and it went off."
