  1. Re: Review of Hidden Lands Overall a pretty good review. I do have to disagree with this though Not true by a long shot. The basic Empyrean package is 277 points, then 100 for customization. If you were to make a slightly higher powered campaign of say 400 points there can be a wide variety of PC's of Empyrean stock or an all Empyrean campaign. 277 points pre-determined and 123 left over to make a custom character. That's far from being a Very High Power campaign.
  2. Re: I have Hidden Lands! I finally picked up HL yesterday. Great content! Alas the art is a mixed bag but you can't have everything. I'll comment more after I'm done reading the whole thing.
  3. Re: Personal Super-Vehicles I agree with Hermit, the cost is prohibative unless the character is based around the vehicle. I do have one PC in my campaign who is a gadgeteer and uses his personal vehicle all the time until the villains literaly carve him out of it. It's sort of an enclosed air bike and he paid 45 character points for it so it's an integral part of his character concept.
  4. Re: Suggestion for a book I know. It's just so tragic. Fortunately I have a copy of Classic Organizations and will do my own conversions when I'm ready to use them. In that vein though, what is the official stance on Sanctuary? Anyone know?
  5. Re: Suggestion for a book Personaly I would love to see an Organization book. I would like more detail on ARGENT and the IHA and....CLOWN! Merry Andrew where art thou?
  6. Re: Dear G-D, NOOOOOOOOO!!! I hate Hollywood! Same here. Stick to the source material, it worked for Spiderman 1 & 2....
  7. Re: New Global Guardians PBEM Campaign Looking For Players The problem with "home grown" universes is that newbies don't know which hunteds are appropriate or how to construct a "universe appropriate" background.
  8. Re: Does Seeker still suck?
  9. Re: Does Seeker still suck? But nevertheless still manages to look incredibly stupid. It's kind of hard to project fear and awe when you look like a goth Big Bird.
  10. Re: Characters of "Substance"
  11. Re: Characters of "Substance" LOL, I just submitted one to Kirby for his PBEM. Since mercury is very low friction he can "skate" at high speed. Plus, of course, he's heavy and malleable. Kind of a cross between Quicksilver and Reed Richards. Of course, mercury is a natural conductor so he's vulnerable to electrical attacks.

  15. Re: GM Assistance If it's just a prop then I would disallow the Real Weapon disad.
  16. Re: Why should I play HERO? Assuming you can actualy find a copy of Sidekick this is good advice.

    Superman

To me OIHID means he actualy has to "activate" his powers somehow, even if it is only a zero phase action.
  18. Re: Could your Champions character beat... It's all a matter of benchmarks. If the villains in his campaign are a credible threat to defeat the PC's then so what? Obviously the supers in Zornwils world are truly SUPER, making normals look pale by comparison. As long as the game isn't a cake-walk for the PC's I say "so what?"
  19. Re: Real world Pulp characters Elliot Ness
  20. Re: Post your most abusive munchkin character here That's funny, but not what I'm looking for. Any kind of Phys Lim: His Very Existence causes The Universe To End does that. I'm looking for abusive power constructs.
  21. This comment was made in another thread: So true. There are some seriously creative (and demented) minds on these boards. For sh*ts and grins, post your most abusive rules-raping munchkin based on 350pts here. Are you the munchkin king?
  22. Re: Long winded request for assistance Exactly. When your campaign devolves into who can out-munchkin who it's pretty much over as far as I'm concerned.
  23. Re: Big Question: How did superpowers come about in your campaign? In my campaign superbeings have been around for thousands of years (the Red Sea didn't part itself you know, Moses was a powerful mutant). As the human genome has evolved however superpowers have become more and more prevalant. By the late 19th century extraordinary humans were more common than ever and it seems that mankind had made an evolutionary leap. Costumed superheroes followed soon after and the Age Of Heroes was born.
  24. Re: Champions Universe Combined Timeline Sure, but he took the time to cram it all together and mesh three CU's into one coherent timeline. Too bad I can't use it because my own CU has some significant differences.
