  1. Re: Which Edition of Champions/Hero System Worked Best for Your Champions Campaign? I have to say 4th here as well. It did a great job of streamlining all of the rules into that wonderful BBB. The camaign I currently run is a continuation of the 4th ed CU. The original Champions fought in the Battle of Detroit and suffered badly. Defender was badly injured and retired, passing his legacy onto his son who is the current Defender (al la 5th ed). Seeker was killed (of course) and Obsidian, guilt ridden, returned home and became a great statesman. Quantum split to form her own team (Force One) with Solitaire joining her. Jaguar "retired" and now works as a private investigator, using his powers only when necessary.
  2. Re: Page one of the V&V Conversions is up! Thanks (and rep) for the conversions. V&V is the first superhero system I played and ultimately led me to Champions. While it had its shortcomings it was great fun to play. Thanks also to Jeff Dee for the artwork and for allowing you to do the conversions.

  4. Re: Punisher Vs Batman Oh yeah, almost forgot. In response to the OP: Unless Punisher has the hot dice Bats will win.

    leftovers?

Re: leftovers? Favors, perks and contacts are always nice. Or encourage their character to have a "hobby" and buy some appropriate KS's, which helps give the character some personality.

  8. Re: A counter for Dr Destroyer: Tomorrow Man
  9. Re: A counter for Dr Destroyer: Tomorrow Man In my campaign I don't have a single "uber hero" to counter Dr. Destroyer. It kind of defeats the purpose IMO. Why bother fighting him if one phone call to Captain Amazing (or Tomorrow Man or whoever) is all it takes. The whole point of a mega-villain is that a well-coordinated hero team is what is needed to combat him. I didn't run any plot seeds involving Dr. Destroyer until my PC's were ready to handle such a threat, and even then they had to call in NPC's that they knew and trusted (ie. had worked with at some point in my campaign) to help. Even then it should take all the teamwork, wits, and cunning that the PC's can muster to defeat the threat. That's the whole point of a villain like the good Doctor after all. Just say no to Deus Ex Machina Man.

  13. Re: My Teen Champions Game Sounds like you have a great group of RPers there.
  14. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... Wow! Huge thread here so I'm Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but The Reality Dysfunction series by Peter Hamilton is great. Very sci-fi with existential/spiritual themes. Very well writen as well.

  16. Re: The Invisibles Writeups I finally got to see this wonderful movie yesterday. I had to play the "it's my birthday" card to get the wife to agree and she thanked me for it. First off: great write ups but...why did you feel the need to force Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible into 350 points? They are both obviously highly experienced and Mr. Incredible, from what I gathered, was considered one of the best heroes of his time. That's worth a few XP don't you think? Anyway, great write-ups Now. if someone would do an Edna Mode writeup....
