  1. I wanted to build Invisibility to memory, with delay about 5 minutes. So you meet the character, interact, then about 5 minutes later you have no recollection of his presence or interaction. Mind Control, way to expensive and impossible effect to achieve. Transform, same as above Psionic surgury, same as above Invisibility is the best way, right?
  2. Now with the new 5th ed. of Fantasy Her and the introduction of the Armorsmith and Weapoinsmith modifiers, variations are encouraged. Here is what I do, in addition to Armor rules DEF pts. in Armor = - pts to wearers DEX Every 2 pts. of DEF = - inches of movement

  8. Eosin" Thanks. It was fun doing the write-up Say, can you narrow down for me where in the series good description of the character is? Really help
  9. Cyclops does not possess the power Missle deflection What he does is, attacks objects and destroys them with his optic blasts. There is no citiation in marvel cannon of cyclops deflecting energy attacks. Scott just saves his phase and waits for incoming. personal Immunity, Cyclops immune to his and any attack with the same special effect, his brother Havoc If anything Cyclops is the poster boy for Variable Advantage. A weird property of the optic blasts is that they gain power at distence, close up they have les force.
  10. I read the first 7 books. Refresh my memory, was he the guy in charge of training that during the uprising was defeated by Galad? Book 3 or 4 , I think. I'd have to go and re-read the sourrce material before I attempted to make the character. Have to dig up my books
  11. fixed that naked modifier
  12. Alright, this is difficult, given that Elrond is a fan favorite. I tried to preserve th esub-rosa nature of magic, and gave it a more skill flavor rather than straight out powers. In my concept "magic" exists in it's raw state in nature and those aware can shape it to their will. Really a hard character to bring alive as Elrond is that hybrid of supernatural Immortal, warrior-King, Wise council. Forgot to edit the -1 for knowledges into each skill.
  13. List as many or as few parameters for an NPC you'd like And I will include the .hdc Edsel: I am offering to build Eosin: Elrond Bladesman PhilFleischmann: Cyric Fallowspaik Aiden
  14. Re: Noble Families of the Terran Empire My pbem is just starting, couple of months now, PC's are not quite there yet. But here is a couple Adjudica’s full name is Adjudica Voss Deveraux. Her mother is Zephyria Margrave Deveraux, chairperson of Regent, Filliope & Decapilier, an Imperial bonded AI entity. Adjudica was tutored and has degrees in Computer science, Econmomics and Material Science. Adjudica is CEO of Digital Rote Inc, a provider of inventory management software. Diabios Corsair seems to be well educated and matriculated on Minerva in the Imperial College. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Art History, his father knows a Senator, who pulled strings for his admission, Diabios made extra scratch as a male model for a designer, one Villia de’Amythest. He also was training to become a medical practioner, but bailed on that career in order to get a “doctorate in recreational therapy.†Diabios’ father owns a research group that studies Terraforming projects for the Imperial department of Colonization and Development. Very wealthy. Diabios is here on a “fact-finding†mission and “Ecological balance and similarity of multiple Biosphere, same orbit Terrestial Bodies.†Diabios figures he can milk this for about another three years before returning. Can't give away to much

  17. Re: Re: Re: GL style Endurance Batteries? No requirement that a focis is on a character Although to be fair it is not really a focus, as it never really affected by plot, so maybe Only in Super ID. Incantations can be bought, "only for power activation"

  21. Re: Giving Experience My basic approach has to do with the campaign structure. ie I am running a 250 pt. Star hero: TE PBeM. I wanted strong weell defined characters to start, and experience would be metered out very slowly, 1 xp per n sessions, then jump by 10 or 15 at a stage in the campaign where characters solve / fix / identify villians and or antaginists. But awarding xp is a task fraught with problems. Do you reward "role playing" as a subjective criteria? GM as final arbiter seems to "cult of personality" to me. As are situational xp rewards. Players are more an indication of this reward than actual characters, and I have found most of these light hearted moments are off camaign, having more to do with Star trek/ Star Wars / B5 or Monty Pyth'in. Creativity and description of character actions is what I like to reward. These are admitedly subjective but I look for players who help with maintaining story or bringing in new ideas or doing things not solely to advantage the character but disadvantage them. I am still looking for a way to turn hero disadvantages into powers or afvantages. And fidelity in dusadvantage meaning. Codified. So bith player and GM know what is meant by Coe of Honor. I digress into disadvantages because some people I talk to feel xp should be awarded strictly on play of skills and disadvantages. Like most I like players to play what is "on the sheet" and what is not "on the sheet." I know a player who can role play interrogation and has done so in a situation with a character that does not have the skill. That leaves plot xp. I have seen some GM's that treat this like jumpinhg through hoops. Xp awards for characters that go to the right places, talk to the right people. Bah! I say, reward the player who finds his own solution. I think the above agrees with most other posters, that is my 2 cents.
