  1. Re: Respecing Might based on Test Server notes Correct. With only Might powers, you unlock Invuln at L8. The Character Builder is based on when skills unlock and only shows you the powers you unlock by whatever level bubble you click. Just select the power framework tabs at the top to see what powers are unlocked. If you select non-energy building powers, you unlock tiers for all sets, but faster in sets you already placed points in. For a Might build, Invuln is L8. For a Power Armor build, right after the tutorial.
  2. Re: Respecing Might based on Test Server notes Yes, you can get it. Select the Power Armor tab. Grab Champions Builder from the link in my earlier posts and start planning.
  3. Re: Hero Podcast: What Would You Like To Hear? Please do not run gaming sessions. Major Spoilers created "Critical Hit" to cover their D&D 4E game, and I am bored by it. I'd love to see power creation to meet challenges. Say maybe examples like tessuracting someone's heart directly into a nearby star, and allowing a colocated bit of the star take its place in that person's chest, with all of the wonderful AOE side effects that much heat and gravity concentrated could have. It wouldn't just be RFK 20d6, it would be MESSY MATH! Ahem. Sorry, huge colocation fan. Been hooked ever since White Wolf's Mage 2E, and fun with reality concepts keep coming up. I would also love to hear some of the behind the scenes work on projects and status updates. Perhaps y'all could discuss some of the problems encountered with Ultimate Base and how y'all came up with solutions, or more examples for converting 5E concepts into 6E (still going over Empyrean template changes to 6E and wondering about the changes to their ED/PD, easier when my hardcopy arrives than with the PDFs). Also tell us where y'all will be to meet fans, how y'all are doing, and anything neat Cryptic tells ya.
  4. Re: Arrgggghhh!!!!!! Justice and such... (gullible he is). Yes, ignore my mayhem as I set up my political enemies to look like villains and plot my own overthrow of the established order. I am so marrying Istvatha V'han and ruling at her side.
  5. Re: Abilities Discussion That bug sounds good for my non-melee toons. Never saw that as my Might toon is the only one with it so far, thinking of adding it to my dual blades toon.
  6. Re: Respecing Might based on Test Server notes I mostly ignore the rank increases and go for special effects. I only added one rank to the Uppercut attack as it is my main attack. I'd love to drop it for Cannonball, but CB does not drop me out of flight in a Death From Above move, so into Uppercut the points go. If there are many mobs, I pull with a thrown object or a ranged taunt. Otherwise, I like running into mobs (up to 6 or so) and smiting them at once.
  7. Re: How do you build Drives? Yep! Those details make me love it more and more.
  8. Re: How do you build Drives? Two more quirks to the Honorverse system regarding impellor bands.. 1) They are impenatrable. Incoming missiles and energy/mass shots can be completely negated by turning the ship to allow it to hit the band. Rotate the ship to dodge. Missiles are trained to attempt to slide/shoot in between bands. To counter, weaker "sidewalls" are generated to distort attacks, and to open "ports" to shoot through. Sidewalls cannot be created at the ends of the ships, so the bow and stern are open to attacks if a maneuver fails. 2) Wedges are nigh infinite masses of contained and focused gravity, do not let your wedge touch another. Ever. The only exception is weak missile wedges hitting a ship's wedge. Fleet formations have to keep their spacings tight but allow enough room for the ships to spin on any axis without touching another ship's wedge. If two wedges meet, they short each other and destroy the ships. And lord help you if your inertial dampeners/sump goes out. Once the ship stops and is recovered, there will be liquid messes smeared throughout the ship in place of the crew. And if your Warshawski sail is destroyed in a gravity wave, pray for a rescue before you reach the end of the line. For this reason, ship combat in gravity waves is very rare (and happens in the books).
  9. Re: Arrgggghhh!!!!!! If you are using an Nvidia card, the latest drivers are buggy with the game. Downgrade the drivers.
  10. Re: List Your CO Heroes! Best part of the game is that as soon as you leave the tutorial you can fight effectively as a L40. Just get your problem solved, and we'll be happy to sidekick you.
  11. Re: Well Rounded Heroes I have low recovery, only have 39/130 energy at the start of any fight. I just punch to build up Shockwave, and bye bye henchmen. Most henchmen can barely scratch me, and they drop powerups like candy.
  12. Re: Well Rounded Heroes Also nearly every build can benefit from CON. Endurance doesn't hurt either. In general, if you don't mind crits, you can skimp on DEX and EGO (unless your abilities can benefit from these), STR is iffy (its Knock protection is a joke, take for Invuln and melee damage), Presence is skippable until the aggro issues are worked out by the Devs (bonus pet HP is so slight, and I don't seem to heal any faster with high Presence), and Int's reductions are minor. Every build benefits from Recovery (think openers, more energy equals opening with strongest attacks), Endurance (at high levels, benefits regen even more than Recovery), and Constitution (outlive them). Recovery is the base stat for Regeneration, and Resurgence is based on Constitution, so Supernatural is good right off the bat. Defiance uses Con. The Reflexes one uses Dex. Invulnerable uses both Strength (flat damage reduction) and Constitution (scaling damage resistance).
  13. Re: Respecing Might based on Test Server notes Ah, that bug must be why I died so swiftly. I am tank speced with maxed CON and STR.
  14. Re: Respecing Might based on Test Server notes Dr. D's workshop is brutal to everyone. Went in with some friends and I'd die in 3 hits. There just wasn't a way around that. This was after the devs said they weakened the foes, but the foes seemed much tougher than before that patch. Planning to go again soon.
  15. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game Heh, it's been far too long since I played CoH/CoV(CoX) with Lemming. Years even.
  16. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game Thanks for the heads up. I might fire up my CoX client, but I am prefering CO.
  17. Re: Announcing the Crime Computer 2.0! Find those missing missions! Surprised at how many I have missed. Thought I was being on top of things canvassing all maps with each level gained. Thank you for sharing this.
  18. Re: How do you build Drives? Partial to David Weber's system in his Honor Harrington series. In a solar system, impellar bands (focused gravity planes above and below the ships) are sublight with a need to turnover the ships 180 degrees for deceleration. Fantastic sublight speeds take time to reach and negate. Outside a solar system (defined as a distance from a significant gravity well), you have your hyperspace drive punch through various bands of hyperspace to compress travel distance. The "higher" a band you can reach and sustain, the faster you travel. At least until you want to stop or hit a gravity wave. At a gravity wave (a current of intense gravity affecting hyperspace), impellar bands will destroy the ships when reacting to them. You reconfigure the bands into Warshawski sails to draw power from the waves and impart motion. You effectively sail in a river at much higher speeds than you could reach via hyperspace alone. Lastly, there are wormholes. This is where gravity waves somehow connect two points in space, allowing for instant transit via Warshawski sail. The more mass you transit in a short time, the longer the wormhole is destabilized. Jump a fleet through the hole at once, and you lock down reinforcements for 18+ hours. For the most part, there are no FTL communications (later books allowed FTL via gravitic pulses from satellite relays in a "morse code" manner in a solar system), so you send a courier ship to its destination to relay news. Intercept the courier, and you can lock out news.
  19. Re: Children of the COrn 14 is too old. Puberty is when "god" feeds on you.
  20. Re: Respecing Might based on Test Server notes This is Kara's current plan, she's still godly tough at L29. Build by championBuilder 0.3.2 Download this Build here. Kara Lokidottir: Level 40 Champion Superstats: Level 5: Super Constitution Level 13: Super Strength Powers: Level 1: Clobber Level 1: Beatdown -- Crippling Challenge Level 5: Defensive Combo Level 5: Flight -- Rank 2, Rank 3 Level 8: Invulnerability -- Rank 2, Rank 3 Level 11: Energy Shield -- Rank 2, Laser Knight Level 14: Roomsweeper -- Concussive Blow Level 17: Thunderclap -- Challenging Strikes, Punch Drunk Level 20: Havoc Stomp Level 23: Uppercut -- Rank 2, Head Trauma Level 26: Resurgence -- Rank 2, Rank 3 Level 29: Shockwave -- Challenging Strikes, Leg Rumbler Level 32: Hurl -- Rubble Trouble Level 35: Demolish -- Below The Belt Level 35: Teleport -- Rank 2 Level 38: Haymaker -- Nullifying Punch Talents: Level 1: Superhuman Level 6: Jack Of All Trades Level 9: Survival Training Level 12: Physical Conditioning Level 15: Paramilitary Training Level 18: Discipline Training Level 21: Covert Ops Training Remember, Roomsweeper and Havoc Stomp give Enraged stacks. Defensive Combo grants 1 stack of Defiance on top of Invulnerable and allows you to pull aggro off from someone, Beatdown has Crippling Challenge, Uppercut can stun and is my main attack, Demolish reduces their defenses, and Haymaker slows their healing. Hurl is mainly to shut down travel powers.

    Might

Re: Might Glad to be able to help ya, Twilight. I myself went with Flight, overall it is the best PVE power. Make sure you fly near the ground at times for your nemesis' minions to find you. Thinking Teleport at 35 for PVP. Think I will update my build in another thread on here to show what I am actually going for now.
  22. Re: Nemesis Mission Issues? The only issue I have had was with these mission where my Nemesis is building a nuke and fails as I catch her. Until the patch and reboot of the server, I could beat her to a pulp but the mission would not complete. After the servers came up last night, it completed properly. Was a bit surprised to get attacked by her minions while she was locked up. One mission I assumed was buggy was stopping her minions from stealing the crashed UFO. Slowish spawn rate coupled with many aliens who kept respawning and rushing in. Died a few times trying to get my 10 minions due to aliens. Also 2 other heroes were there "helping" me with my minions which may have slowed me down there.

    Might

Re: Might Might has been a blast to play, I really feel like a Brick. Subpar, nay, not at all. I might not kill as swiftly as the elemental types, but I can take on much tougher odds and win. For a good might build, you'll want a couple of powers from Power Armor's framework if you want constant defense. I took Invulnerability because it stacks with Might's focus on both CON and STR. Con gives % reduction, STR gives flat damage reduction. Ingame at L29, the character page says I have over 57% resistance. The other Power Armor ability is its Energy Shield for its Laser Knight advantage. Every time you punch, this shield pops up to mitigate damage nicely. You lose around 10% damage, but gain massive reduction to incoming damage. I also took Resurgence from Supernatural for my heal. It is based on CON which is my biggest stat. I can normally last more than it's 90sec CD takes to come back up. You may also consider Unbreakable for damage absorption in PA. For attacks, do not discount the ability of Roomsweeper and Havoc Stomp to build Enrage stacks. You don't even need the Enrage ability to gain it. Roomsweeper is also good for getting foes off from you. Beatdown has a small chance to interrupt/stun a foe, but it mainly taken for Crippeling Challenge to shut off blocking in PVP. I often tap Beatdown and Uppercut back and forth for an impressive pummeling of my foes. Defensive Combo is meh, I keep it solely for pulling aggro off from friends, but it can apply 1 stack of Defiance on top of Invulnerability. Uppercut is the best overall attack. Very efficient, and it has a nice advantage to stun foes who use charged up attacks within 12 seconds of being Uppercut. If you don't PVP, consider replacing Beatdown with Mighty Leap.
  24. Re: Abilities Discussion Doesn't Viper-X help the rain bead off your windshield so you can see in heavy downpour? Or was it the truck spray-on bedliner?
  25. Re: Abilities Discussion Yeah, when Kara was around L18 or so, she'd get two shotted. Keep in mind she was maxed DEF with Invuln. She's 29 now, holler later if you wish to try again with her. Heading to bed now.
