The most recent edition of Champions Universe (for Sixth Edition HERO System) was printed in 2010, and covers events in the CU from distant prehistory through 2009. That may make it slightly dated, but not to the extent that the background info would be inappropriate to use today.
 
Champions Universe lays out a pretty detailed and coherent timeline and universe survey, but Hero Games has published dozens of other books, for Fifth or Sixth Edition, delving into more focussed portions of the official setting. However, this book is the foundation and broadest overview.

Just learned about the Wat Ron Khun temple in Thailand, a contemporary privately-owned (but freely open to the public) art installation based on the form of a Buddhist temple. It would make a spectacular backdrop for Oriental-themed fantasy or sci-fi.

My hope is that in 2015 I will be able to spend a lot more time working on MH. I was making really good progress until I had to put it aside to focus on the Odin book, and one thing after another kept me from returning to it all year. In 2015 my plan is to avoid taking on so many little assignments, or things I don't really want to work on, so I can devote my time and efforts to several larger projects that interest me -- one of which is MH, of course. So hopefully 2015 will be a year of much mythic progress!

I have to admit, it's a bit disconcerting to see all these cute pictures of animals that Cygnia posts, with *shank-shank-shank* diretly underneath.
