  1. How about buying a 20d6 Energy Blast, Variable Advantage +1 (Only Advantages Possessed By Last Attack Deflected; +1 3/4), Variable Special Effect (Only The Special Effect Of The Last Attack Deflected; +1/4), 1 Recoverable Charge (Charge Recovered By Deflecting An Attack With Missile Deflect; -1 1/4), Limited Power: Only Can Use Amount Of Dice Equal To The Last Attack Deflected (-1) ? And you could also get a RKA with the same advantages and limitations and put them both in a multipower.
  2. Warp: He wouldn't be considered a canidate to be Earth's Champion, but has a fellow team member who would be. So while Horus-Re gets ready to fight the alien champion as a delaying tactic, Warp and the others will be preparing a raiding party to board the ship with his spatial manipulation powers and gain control of it. Spectrum: Could possibly be a canidate. He is one of the most powerful energy manipulators on the planet. He's also a Colonel in the Air Force, and thus subject to orders. If he's commanded to fight on behalf of Earth, he'll do so. If he's commanded to lead an attack against the aliens, he'll do that too. Mystic: Not a canidate for Champion, unless of course it's a magical battle they want. He could however magicaly pump up whoever is a Champion though. And he'll be watching the battle and be ready to extract him when necessary. Proteus: Bioadaptive shapechanger, he'd sneak on board the ship disguised as part of the Champion's gear or clothing, and then slip away to commit acts of sabatoge, lowering the shields so an attacking force from Earth can board.
  3. Just Remebered Mystic doesn't have to stop the execution. He could just ressurect the man afterward.
  4. For Warp, all the contacts I've mentioned only know him by his Secret ID, Daniel Stone, multibillionaire playboy/philanthropist/investing wunderkind. And if the mayor is actually guilty, not only would he turn him in, but would devote major resources to destroying his poltical career as well. Whether he's found guilty or not in a court of law, he'd do my best to make sure he won't be able to be elected dog catcher. For Spectrum, he's got a Public ID, and has major pull with the Federal government. And also happens to be one of the most powerful energy manipulating heroes on the planet. The locals try to move against him and they'll find themsevles in a world of hurt.
  5. When attacking an entagled character with an Indirect attack, does the Entangle count as an intervening barrier that can be bypassed such as a fence or a Force Wall, or does it count as a personal defense the way a Force Field or Armor would? And if the answer is special effects dependent, how would you rule if the Entangle was a Dimensional Trap (Page 62 of the UNTIL Superpowers Database) and the Indirect Attack was a Multidirectional Danger Portal (Page 62 of the Until Superpowers Database)?
  6. Hmmm, perhaps the team should get some vending machines installed on base. You gotta have your snacks.
  7. Warp: Oh, this one's easy. Have his father (Franklin Stone, Champions Universe page 59) get custody of him when his parents divorced when he was five instead of his mother. When your father is the CU equivalent of Lionel Luthor, it's not that big a step into turning out like Lex. Spectrum: Hmmm, the Progenitor Probe which gave him his powers could have also driven him mad when it mindlinked with him, causing him to turn into an insane and immensely powerful engine of destruction. Mystic: Delving into the wrong types of arcane lore early in his career could have possibly driven him mad, or seduce him onto the path of darkness. Proteus: Well, he was originally discovered in the abandoned lair of an unknown super villain by a super hero team. If the super villain had never left but had raised Proteus for whatever purpose he was originally intended for, Proteus could have easily turned out to be a villain.
  8. As for my characters Warp: In his Secret ID he's a billionaire playboy, investor, and philanthropist who has both Mayor Calvin Bisselle and Congresswoman Shanna Armbruster as contacts with good relations. I think he might be able to finagle a stay by talking to one of them. And if for some reason that didn't work, he could always swallow his pride and ask his father for a favor. Who happens to be ACI founder and CEO Franklin Stone. He definitely would have the contacts and influence to probably get a stay. Spectrum: He's a national hero with important contacts such as the Head of DOSPA and the Secretary of Defense. He should be able to arrange a stay pretty easy. Mystic (Dropped the Mr.): As a canidate for the office of Archmage, he probably has enough mojo to spirit the innocent away and leave a simulcrum in his place. Proteus: If contacts and politicing doesn't work, he could always get the Governor out of the way temporarily and impersonate him to issue a stay himself.
  9. Would he be so blase' if the man in question was entirely innocent? The first post did say all the crimes were in fact shams that he didn't perpetrate at all. Imagine the old remote controlled power armor with the patsy trapped inside. Armor gets damaged, patsy cut out of it, and he takes the fall, while the real mastermind who pulled all the crimes gets away scott free with no one even suspecting his existence. Now imagine Shadowhunter knowing the truth about what happened. Would he still laugh and have the popcorn delivered?
  10. Warp: The first thing he does after getting the villain squared away is conact the team mentalist to make sure this isn't some sort of illusion of some kind. If it is, then it gets dispelled and everything is all right again. If it isn't, then the next thing he does is go to Doctor Silverback to have his hand reattached and find out if whether he's just a human with a cybernetic arm or an actual robot. If the former, he goes back to the team mentalist and has him look for any repressed memories on how he got a cyberarm. If he turns out to be a robot, he'll ask Doctor Silverback to determine whether he's always been a robot and didn't know it or if his consciousness had just been transfered to a robot body without his knowledge (There should be some detectable differences betweened a made-from-scratch AI and an actual human consciousness). If the latter, I'll ask the entire team for help in investigating how and when this could have happened, as well as recommending that the all be checked out too to make sure the same wasn't done to them. If, on the other hand, I found out I had been a robot all along, I go pay a visit to my "father" Franklin Stone, CEO of Advanced Concepts Industries, and demand to know what the hell is going on. Spectrum: Reports what happened to him to his superiors. Since he gained his powers by being transformed by an artifact of the Progenitors, ask them to investigate the possibility that this new state is somehow a new step in the process which the Progenitor Probe used to change him. Mr. Mystic: After making sure it's not an illusion, casts a spell to look into the past and find out what happened. Also casts a spell to heal his hand, and depending on what he sees in the past, turns himself back into a human. Proteus: Reattaches his limb. Does some heavy investigation to figure out when and how such a transformation could have taken place.
  11. Warp: "My lawyer advises me to register, because if I don't and my identity is somehow revealed it would cause problems for me. Thankfully, with my connections and the political sensitivity of one of the richest men in the world being a mutant, my identity will recieve the highest classification possible and then some. No one but the DOSPA Director himself will be able to access it." Spectrum: "I gained my powers on a Shuttle Mission, and I'm an Air Force Officer. I was registered as part of my debriefing." Mr. Mystic: "Register? That's for metahumans. I'm as human as the next person. I've merely learned skills that few have had a chance to, but could be theoretically developed by anybody willing to study who had acess to the right library." Proteus: "One of my identities is registered."
  12. Warp (Spatial Manipulator and Billionaire Playboy): Telport, Usable As Attack, on the kitten. Now it's safely forty meters away. Proceed to knock out and capture villain. Spectrum (EM Spectrum Energy Manipulator and Air Force Officer): An Indirect NND (Defense is Safe Environment: High Radiation) hits him from behind, stunning him before he can do any harm. Mystic (Potential Archmage and Fantasy Author): The villain is now holding a super strong, super durable, and regenerating dire kitten. Proteus (Biomorphic Shapeshifter): Is the kitten. And has just gave himself armor, regeneration, and claws.
  13. This is why you should by a cell phone with a voice-activated dialing option.
  14. Thanks to my Spatial Awareness, 360 Degree, Discriminatory, I'll perceive my "teammates" about to attack me, so they might not get the x2 STUN Surprise Bonus. With the assumption I'm not stunned or unconscious, my next action would be to telport away. Then, if I somehow learned that my "teammates" were robots, I'd then go get my EMP Gun (2d6 Energy Blast, NND-Defense is a Forcefield vs Energy, Does Body, Only vs Technology, OAF, 16 Charges) and go ambush my other teammates to see if they're robots or not. If I'm still in the dark about my "teammates" true nature after teleported to a safe place I'd try to contact my other teammates and inform them of the situation without putting myself in a position to be attacked by them should they be somehow compromised as well.
  15. Warp: Teleport to one of my storerooms to pick-up my N-ray Vision Goggles, and then go around using my Teleport 20', Usuable as an Attack, to port the conventional explosives used to trigger the nuclear reaction away.
  16. I don't think anyone in this thread has said that 4C games are realistic. In fact, I think just the opposite has been asserted, that realism is a risky thing to inject into a 4C game, as shown below. You seem to be saying here that since powers are unrealistic everything basicially has to be unrealistic, which is not necessarily the case. Just because people are walking around with abilities which should be impossible doesn't mean that its invalid to treat how people and society would react to such a world in a realistic manner. You don't have to, but it's not wrong if you do.
  17. Warp, the character I'm currently playing, probably would execute a supervillain who was on Death Row if no one else could. Due to his mother being killed in the Battle of Detroit he has a real hatred of murderous supervillains, and while he wouldn't try take the law into his own hands (unless they set off his 8-/11- Enraged by killing an innocent in front of him) he'd gladly help execute such a monster if asked to by the authorities.
  18. Of course, he doesn't have to stay "normal." There is the always classic radioactive animal bite origin. Or considering Steve's habits, the opportunity for several radiocative animal bites in the course of his career.
  19. Darn it! I already spent all my money buying ARGENT!
