  1. It will obviously be the woman. At the end of the third book there is a silhoutte that looks amazingly like Brian Braddock in his Captain Britain costume, looking down at the mother saying that her job isn't done. Even if they don't call her Union Jack, I hope they put her in that uniform. In my opinion the black with the red and white stripes looks better than the current Captain Britian uniform. They could also put her in a costume with the actual flag of the UK on it.
  2. I have decided to build a character based around the rapid acceleration abilities on flight. I like the idea of a character that can go from complete stop to complete acceleration in a heartbeat. The flight is easy and the vast majority of his powers are easy (Multipower with objects of opportunity that he can accelerate and slam into targets via UNTIL Powers). The one power I haven't figured out how to do is the acceleration of opponents. 1. Flight, Useable on Others, Useable as an attack, Straight Line Only? What disadvantage would you give if the flight were only in a straight line? 2. TK, Affects Whole Object. Would you give it Only to Push? I want to be able to push in any direction and I have only seen this disadvantage to show wind blowing someone straight away from the user. On the second build, lets say I buy 40 Str TK, Grab a normal weight person and throw him. A running throw with +30 Str would be 24". Would the throw do 8d6? 8d6 +V/5=12d6 Damage? What would happen if the victim travelled 3" and hit a wall? I liked up the throwing rules and it didn't seem to cover these issues. One last question in this long post, how would you handle grabbing victim #1 and slamming him into victim #2?

One thing that scared a group I used to run was a mini-brick with minor mental powers and absorbtion on Mental powers. You could even limit it a bit for a cost break as mental powers are all that common in most campaigns. Make the suit absorb ambient mental energy and put that power into an Endurance Battery. Better yet 2 Endurance Batteries with the second that cannot refill itself so that when it is full it triggers the aforementioned ego blast explosion. Carrying this a bit further, maybe it has a slight ego drain in an area effect going at all times.
  5. Foxbat I thinking the yellow and brown are there to finish the look. Foxbat's costume to me has always been a cross between Batman's and Wolverine's costumes. Look in the side bar as his picture occasionally appears there in all it's colored glory. I will be using Foxbat as one of the villians in my Exiles campaign. It should drive the Batman fan INSANE!!!
  6. Hmmm, the box thing I believe the reasoning for the box was to prove a point between on player and another. Not a normal thing, but then again it was a really dumb idea so I allowed it.
  7. Mr. Immortal Mr. Immortal was one of the characters that a guy brought to a new game. His character was destined to be immortal, he just hadn't gotten there yet. He was a normal with NO powers. But if he got killed he would be reincarnated into a new body, with no memories of who he or she was, but with a new invulnerability. Everyone pretty much hounded him and made fun of him ("how are you going to be a part of the this team if everytime you die you dissapear, come back as someone who doesn't remember that we don't know and still be part of a team?") Nevertheless, he demanded to play his character but decided he would be resurrected in the same spot he died as the same guy. He was promptly locked in an airtight box by the ubiquitious Wolverine character. He soon suffocated, then resurrected, then died of dehydration, then resurrected, then died of hunger, then resurrected, then died of self-inflicted wounds, then resurrected, then died of boredom, then resurrected. You know, now that I think about it, 10 years later he is still in the box....
  8. It didn't happen By my players wanted to play an all mouse team in my Exiles Campaign. The players wanted to play Mighty Mouse (Flying Brick), Danger Mouse (Spy), Pinky and the Brain (this included a vehicle Man bot) and some other mouse that I am forgetting.

    Building Computers

Wormhole has it I am looking for the write up of a general computer. I think the computer will have a very large impact on the game. In the last night's Exile game, the mission was for the characters to find and stop Magneto and his Magnetic Men (yes from the Amalgam universe) from changing the magnetic poles of the earth. The character in question is the grandson of Magneto and knew that on his world Magneto's base of operation was in the Savage Land. After running down there (he clocks out at Mach1) he discovered that the base was empty. He then ran to Argentina and broke into a house to steal jewelery to pawn so he could afford an internet cafe. Someone noted that he should just buy a computer. Now with his Computer Hacking abilites (augmented with 3 speed trick power - Telepathy, Mind Control and a Major Transform all for hacking) he can do a lot of things with a computer, possibly beyond the simple lead gathering and I want to make sure that this ability is fairly portrayed both for his character and in power points.
  10. One of the players in my Exiles campaign is the son of Quicksilver and Meltdown. As he is just starting out, he really doesn't have that many combat speed tricks, relying on his ability to throw bombs and his speed. The speed tricks he does have are superspeed computer hacking and programming (according to his background, computers are the only thing that could keep up with him). Now the player has a few experience points and a computer would be very helpful for figuring out details of upcoming adventures (basic internet and some games and movie programs). How do you build a laptop or palmtop computer with wireless access to the internet. It almost seems like it would be a perk. I looked through the rules and they didn't really seem to have much detail in them. Thanks for the help!
  11. Bengal, it is close to growth. The one thing is, if you hit the giant's hand or head, it doesn't hurt him. To hurt the character you would have to shoot through the giant and have it hurt him. Would you model that as defensive combat levels to counter the growth and some force wall/force field effect? It's obvious that there is a guy in the energy shell "driving" the creature.
  12. My Thoughts First off, I think Buffy the Vampire Slayer would be a very good basis for a teen super hero campaign and should probably be covered. The first three seasons all took place in high school, the fourth took place in college and the focus of season 7 was at high school again. I would consider amending the experience issue, not by giving them double experience, but maybe giving normal amounts of experience and then the GM keeping a side pool of "radiation accident" only experience points. That way the characters can continue to grow and become more skilled and you still have an avenue for unexpected/uncontrolled advancement of their powers.
  13. Lightray, do you have that character you could easily post? I don't want you to have to retype it, but if you could cut and paste it would help me immensely.
  14. T.A.R.G.E.T. These Are Really the Guys Everyone Thinks Don't let them know that they have a name or what it stands for, just give them red shirts or uniforms with red and white concentric circles on it.

    Power Help:Bounce

For some reason, I think leaping would work better as you are considered to land after every movement. Plus it already has a mechanism for a small amount of randomization when it comes to the landing. What about Leaping with No Concious Control Only when hit and Body done in inches of movement?
  16. SFX It all seems to be based on SFX and cinematic story telling. You can do 20 body and kill a normal or you can grab him by his throat and rip his back out where his throat should be.....which by the way does 20 body and kills a normal.
  17. The Blob Originally, the Blob was a strong man circus entertainer. In all likely hood, as a strong man, he would travel around to different cities, show off his strength and there would be a price for anyone who could pick him up or beat him in a fight. The wrestling is very fitting with his concept. It has been a while since I have seen him use the "tuck in the fat ability", but it is fun.
  18. My Exiles Campaign In my campaign, I am going to go with "stylistic exaggeration", in other words, my characters don't know that much about the Hero Games system so I can fudge here and there to make the battles fun. They know some of the basics and are learning the different maneuvers, but haven't really started to fight as a team or even come to consider that option. It was funny when they complained that Comet (a villainous Cannonball) exceeded the campaign maximum while doing a move through (14d6 at full speed) and that one of the villains had DCV levels bought with Endurance as a superpower that made her difficult to hurt. All I had to do was point out that each one of their characters has one area that they break the campaign "suggested" limits and that all such breaks have to be signed off by me (for instance, Thunderstorm has a 100 point multipower, well over the 60 point normally allowed, but this lets the character call down lightning strikes and such).
  19. Cool Concept I love the concept of the massive damage and then the explosion of Ravens, not sure about the werewolf, but cool nonetheless. Make sure that you post a copy of the final character.
  20. I want to create a villian on 350 points that can create a humanoid shell around himself. The original character was a very old stretching martial artist. He was later updated to not actually stretch his arms but create telekinetic pods or arms to use while fighting at a distance. Now I want to bring him into 5th edition and use the extra points to power him up a bit. What I envision is a character that can create a large (say 50-100') telekinetic giant with him at the middle of it. If you have seen the heroclix Sinestro figure I think you would know what I am talking about. I have thought of a few ways to do this but I wanted to see if there was a better way: 1. Build him exactly as he was, a stretching martial artist with a telekinetic force field, enough flight to walk around in the middle of a giant. 2. Build as above, but with telekinesis instead of stretching. 3. Build as a character with Growth, a Force Field, and DCV combat levels only to negate the Negative Growth Modifiers. Thanks for the help! Should a 100' Giant exert weight?
  21. Hamsters 2 Comments: 1. Back in the 80's there was a comic book named Adolescent Black Belt Hamsters (I think), about four mutated hamsters. You could use them.....or.... 2. One of my friends game involved a huge space ship with a library filled with faeries. They had to chase a group of werewolves down and save the faeries, unfortunately they didn't really suceed. Apparently the curse of the werewolves kills faeries, but being faeries they couldn't handle it and would animate/resurrect any of their friends that died. Years later and a new campaign, the group came back to find the library filled with undead werewolf faeries. The fight lasted weeks and was one of the most memorable events in the campaign. Even funnier was in the next campaign, we found a crash landed starship and the old players didn't want to go it. They were terrified.
  22. ... What about Hexadecimal? As for the goat, I assume you have never really been around one. They are nasty mean creatures that are extrememly aggresive and territorial (yeah I know, it just sounds wrong). I would go with a Taurus type build (bipedal animal creature) and maybe focus in on its elemental sign (water or whatever it is). What powers are you planning for each zodiac creature?
  23. What the Hex? 27 forms???? Ok, I want to see that character!!! Why on earth would you or could you need that many?
  24. Wow <<>> As a door guy and box office employee at several concert venues in Dallas, I would like to point out that it would take longer than that if it worked. Your initial request would be scoffed at......
  25. Also You would have to design 13 costumes.... Or you could do the chinese zodiac so you only have to change once a year..... And you get to be a monkey for the next 11 months or so!!!!
