  1. Re: What would your heroes do about this...? Adrenaline would use the media to highlight the issue at hand, same as he would in a foreign country. Rift, being a peace officer would take the perps down, same as any other criminal. Maybe even worse if it were another crime fighter or law enforcement agent. Hecabus would probably be behind the corruption, but he would have a good reason for it. Definately an "end justifies the means" kind of guy.
  2. Re: GMs, which character concepts did not make the cut in your game? My players tried to go with the following theme in an Exiles style campaign: 1. Mighty Mouse 2. Pinky 3. & the Brain (with Human Bot) 4. Speedy Gonzalez 5. Danger Mouse
  3. Re: Storn Art from idea to full picture Inertia/Accelerator Origin Kate Sanoma is a woman in her late 20's of Polynesian descent (Hawaiian actually). She was an accomplished FBI Liaso for an LA based super hero team. Kate is a master of combat and espionage with various contacts in law enforcement as well as criminal circles. She was on a mission to save her team from the clutches of Catalyst, a mutant gang leader whose main power is a bolt of pure bio-energy that supercharges the victim causing their body to burn out and self combust in a matter of seconds. While she was successful in freeing her team, she was shot by Catalyst which unlocked her latent abilities. Powers Inertia is the super hero version of this character. Her powers involve adding or subtracting inertia from objects or people. She can fly at great speeds (combat and non combat acceleration), mass level teleport (she stops her movement in relation to the planet), steal the power of one person's attacks and focus them on someone else, accelerate or deccelerate objects and people moving them or stopping them, usually in very damaging ways (say 0 to 60 mph straight into a wall). Inertia prefers to stay out of close combat to help reinforce her other identity. Accelerator is Kate in her undercover villain identity. In this quise, she usually uses her speed to run on the ground and use her ability to accelerate objects to increase her punching damage and her inertia stopping power (force field) to protect herself from damage. Kate uses this identity to feed her former team information on the mercenary and mutant gang organizations, while taking care of smaller plots as Inertia. Appearance: Undecided and up in the air (i.e. completely up to Storn if it gets picked).
  4. Re: Storn Art from idea to full picture Adrenaline - Large, well built man in his early 20's, wears a slightly padded battlesuit with jetboots and a tech helmet for his special senses. He is a low level brick, who can boost his adrenal production to sublement his strength, speed and toughness for short periods of time. Costume is constantly changing, but usually consists of Red and white body, black boots and a stylized "A" somewhere. Rift - Able to open rifts into other dimensions by literally ripping a hole in reality. He is a member of the Dallas STF (Super-powered Task Force) and wears an official dark blue STF uniform with inlayed Kevlar body armor. Hecabus - This one is a bit weird, Hecabus is an Ogre magi that was raised amongst elves and then turned into a vampire. He does not look like the stereotypical Ogre Magi, but what an Ogre Magi would look like if he had an elven astetic (i.e. Large sized, ripped body, smooth skin, monster features such as fangs and claws, but still very alluring with striking features). He has light green skin and blue hair and dresses in immaculate japanese influenced clothing, but no armour. Always has a katana, dagger and naganata near by. Just in case it is important, he has a gargantuan spider pet, an huge War bat familiar (wild magic transformed) and a bunch of sentient weasels and ferrets that worship him.
  5. Re: What?? Bruce Wayne isn't Batman???
  6. Re: Tornado Building Here are a few extra points to consider. 1. Storm Clouds/Dust Storm - There should be some kind of darkness to go with it. 2. Dust Cloud - Consider a dirt/flying debris based flash vs. sight, I may even add NND with the defense being covered eye protection. 3. Roaring Sound - Consider a sound based flash vs. hearing, maybe include flash vs. storm based senses, radar, sonar, etc.... 4. Force Transferrence - During a tornado a deck of cards or a piece of hay can become very deadly, definately all attacks should be RKA 5. High Winds - I would go with several stacked Change Enviroments to show how much more difficult it is to move the closer the tornado gets. 6. Swirling Winds - What about a HUGE flight Suppression 7. Super Strength - It is common for a tornado to pick something up and carry it/throw it several miles.
  7. Re: New Disadvantage: Control Override Codes Why not use Subject to Orders at the highest level? Maybe even add, Must Follow Orders, but that seems redundent and doesn't leave the character any room for role-playing the resistance to orders he doesn't want to do.
  8. Re: Dealing with Invisible Heroes Two questions..... Can he be filmed? If so, do robots see him? Also, what kind of attack power does he have? Can he attack while "faded"?
  9. Re: Pain Backlash Normally yes, but there is an adder to use that allows it to be used with physical attacks as well.

She had cyberkinesis and used a powersuit similar to Batman Beyond and was killed by Blockbuster for stealing all of his money and interferring with his plans. While dying she downloaded her conciousness into Bruce Wayne's Gauntlet mounted computer.
  11. Re: What?? Bruce Wayne isn't Batman??? Bruce Wayne is Agent 86??? I would love to see someone play a character like Get Smart.... It would be painful and fun at the same time. One of my players is playing a elseworld Bruce Wayne. The origin is the same up until Bruce Wayne saw his dad beat up a bunch of thugs that tried to rob his family after they left the opera. This world's Bruce Wayne grew up without the same bitterness and hatred, but did train in Martial Arts. At some point unknown the Bruce he gained the ability to compress his body (Shrinking and Density Increase) or expand his body (Invisibility and Desolidification), he thinks he is a mutant, but I may "change" that. While in college his parents were killed and he started focussing on justice at that point. I am toying with making Alfred Pennyworth the "original" Batman.
  12. Re: Concept using multiple characters The closest I have come in the Hero system is in my current Exiles Campaign where the first team is the "good" Exiles and their new team that they are starting tonight is the "dirty" Weapon X. I think this will be fun as only one of the players reads the comic (sworn to secrecy) so they don't understand the reason for two teams and it will be fun for them to realize that one team gets the "stop the bad guy help the world" missions and the other team gets the "kill the baby Hitler" missions.

    Immortality

Re: Immortality I like the basis Killer Shrike, but I don't necessarily understand or agree with the Flash (sight and hearing) defenses. Is this supposed to be an Elemental Control? I also wouldn't allow the 154 AP power.
  14. Re: Making It Tougher I like the idea of boosting people's durability and strength, but reducing their spd and movement abilities. Very cool character concept.
  15. Re: Tricks vs Attributes I wouldn't have a problem with the Knockback on a 40 STR it in the least, especially in cinematic games. Look at explosions in the movies, huge blast with an even bigger concussion wave that throws things around. Maybe the brick with a 40 Str is so strong and fast that each punch breaks the sound barrier propelling the poor victim backwards.
  16. Re: Ripping Telephone Poles From The Ground I will pretty much let my players get away with cinematic effects as long as the 1. Make sense and 2. Aren't over used. Keep in mind that telephone company will frown on this and may sue, the wanton destruction of property is illegal, the sudden lack of basic services (water, electricity, gas and telephone service) could cause the locals to riot and not all "telephone poles" have telephone wires. In one game a player pulled the "metal telephone pole" out of the ground, even after the other players warned him. Unfortunately, the brick in question had a vulnerabilty to electricty and was fighting a hydroblaster.....ugh, it was painful to watch.
  17. Re: I need a library What about some way of turning the amount of extra time you spend into a bonus to the skill roll. I am quite fond of the way research is shown in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. More than once they researched and came up with the answer only to not check the source, translate or read all of the text completely. One of my favorite examples, is the Halloween episode where a Lord of all fear demon was summoned. After a big build up and the near defeat of the Scooby Gang the fear demon showed up in his all inspiring 5" demon form. After some mocking, Buffy simply stomped him. Once back at Giles house he found out that the inscription underneath the illustration meant "actual size". It would be tough to Game Master fairly, but it would be fun to throw in there once in awhile, especially when the heroes are under a tremendous time crunch.
  18. Re: Player-Built Characters... I gave the players notice that they could build new characters and then discussed their concepts with them. They spent a few weeks building them and then gave them to me. I pretty much rebuilt the characters and gave them back. They seem pretty happy with the results. They are new players and are obviously inexperienced when it comes to construction.
  19. Re: Anyone got a writeup for Mallace of the Marauders? Glad to hear that it helped. I did use the USPD version as the basis, with a few changes to make it a bit more like the source material. Let me know how the character worked, I haven't had a chance to spring her on my group yet, but I will eventually!
  20. Re: Sneak vs Mental Awareness? Hmmmm, the ninja is thinking about being quiet.... =] I would say no, but then again, I would allow Mental Defenses to work against this sense as a concealment bonus.
  21. Re: What super hero concepts would you like to see more of? After the first Xmen movie, the comic books went to their "almost normal clothes" leather outfits. In the next month or so, they will start returning to their superhero outfits with the "reloading" of the comic books. Basically, some of the comics will be going away with new ones taking their place. The X teams will get divided up and some of their motivations and agendas will change.
  22. Re: Multiple Secret IDs As far as I can remember, the fusion of Ronnie and the good professor could happen at any distance. Did they have a mind-link while not in Firestorm Mode? It is interesting that you are speaking of Firestorm with his new look and comic book coming out in the next month or so. As I understand it, the character is neither Ronnie nor the professor. In fact, the new character needs another person to fuse with and it doesn't have to be the same character each time. This leads to Firestorm having different skills and personality traits each time he is formed. This is supposed to lead to problems and run ins with other superheroes and the law.
  23. Re: What Would Your Character Do? #66 Adrenaline appears to the public to be a very confindent man in his late 30's who is the strong silent type. The real Adrenaline is a shy, unconfident 19 year old (his costume includes a full battle helmet). He would probably be too shy to do anything with the alien. Rift would go for it. Alien or not, a chick is a chick (although he isn't a dummy, he would check the "equipment" before things went too far, those aliens can be tricky). Hecabus would play along with this alien, just to see what the plan was (as a vampire and with his ego he should easily be immune). Then he would try and recruit her for to either be one of his top leaders (if she is powerful enough) or one of his sanctified churchs (gambling dens, bars and brothels).
  24. Re: Killing Attacks vs. Energy Blasts My own theory on it is, when in doubt go with Energy Blast....
  25. Re: Name for a water guy... Gnarly Undertow (or Under Toad if you prefer) Nemofinder The Blonde Surfer Seaweed (ok....I think this one is funny.... =] ) Hydroponics Hydrofonics (does he make squealing noises when he talks with flipper) Flotsam or Jetsam (flotsam is wreckage, Jetsam is cargo thrown overboard) Oceanus O.P.
