  4. *waves* Hello! I'm reasonably sure this thread isn't what you think it is. Yes, I'm a lifer. Yes, I'm less than thrilled so far. but... If you've seen my posts on CO here and on their boards I've been asking people what they run CO on because mine looks awful. Funny thing...Turns out my problem was having the lighting effects set to low. Toggled high last night and poof! I could suddenly see the difference between textures in character design! Now it runs like crud with this on. I've set to half resolution and several other response enhancers that make the game look bad but work almost perfectly. However, if I want I can make it look very pretteh. So the game will still be on hold but for some hours whittled away until I can make it run well AND look pretty. But now I can usually do one of the two and I'm a lot happier. ok back to playing.

  9. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread so this year I took part and finished NaNoWriMo. But my 50k were choppy, scenes I knew I wanted but hadn't really connected. The work is entirely personal and mostly derivative, shclocky romance fiction. However I've been working off and on on this stuff for the better part of a year with my big push in November building steam. Now I've passed 80k words and I'm actually writing 3 separate stories and couldn't be more pleased with myself.

  12. Re: building KISS ...I own the 1978 movie KISS meets the Phantom of the park. On vhs Read the comic series...at least 2 or three of them If I was going to stat them out: Gene (The DEMON): Brick to taste, he's the strong man but he also breaths fire, can fly (summons demon wings), and has an axe as a weapon (depending on how iron age you want them) Paul (The Starchild): good at everything, swordsman, his star eye was uses for telepathic powers, probably an energy blast too. But I'd stick with mentalist Peter/Eric SInger (Cat Man, or the Beast Man): Physical marvel, claws, senses. Somewhwere between Sabertooth and Timberwolf depending on your tastes Ace/Tommy Thayer (Space Man, also the "Celestial"): Teleportation, Life support, Cosmic energy control, space travel, computer brain Eric Carr (The Fox) similar to Cat man with more emphasis on stealth; one of the KISS series did a one shot of a ninja overcoming the Four and becoming the Fox; if anything that was a great tribute to Eric. Another series that I believe was short lived, coming after "Psych Circus" went the "four color heroes" route, and had character based on KISS songs as well. I remember a female speedster (I think) named Christine XVI
  13. Re: Physical might: Strongest characters in comics and other media, and benchmarks
  14. Re: Physical might: Strongest characters in comics and other media, and benchmarks yeah, or Captain Marvel. You can say that Supes had his roots in the Gladiator character. Captain Marvel may have flown first...which in some eyes seperates Supes from Gladiator, so the "Superstrong, invulnerable, fast guy who can fly" was actually the big red cheese and that everyone since has been riffing of him.
  15. Re: Physical might: Strongest characters in comics and other media, and benchmarks as much fun as these debates are... I'd say Sllverage Superman established the benchmark. That said, in my write ups the strongest tend to be The Hulk and Herakles.
