correct.. theres some additional 5E material, but its mostly working notes and draft stuff that never saw publication in any form
I gave Marc everything we had that I know of, Don Mckinney and Andy Staples also did fixed a bunch of templates and fixed the blank references
to various packages from the Star Hero books. I wish I could be more specific, but I was left out of the loop on a lot of it. I submitted all the material I had complete or not, I
made sure Marc had all the Hero Designer files[hdp, hdc, hdt] wrote a new intro and dedication. and that was about it

I have already ordered the CD, but a question:

It looks like it contains the original 5e books, and it has a conversion document for 6e play -- is this correct?

I really doubt there will be printed copies, but you can always ask Marc Miller about it

How did you come up with your 'handle' (forum name)? Easy -- it's my given name.
What was the first tabletop RPG you played? I had looked at several RPGs owned by one of my cousins in the middle of the Eighties -- Runequest, Stormbringer, Elfquest -- but the first I actually played was Äventyrsspel's Drakar och demoner, the third edition (I think). I bought it some time around New Year's '87-'88. Drakar och demoner at that time was basically the Chaosium Basic Roleplaying system translated into Swedish. Much fun was had with it. I bought almost everything (slight hyperbole) that Target Games/Äventyrsspel published, like the Expert and Gigant and Magi expansion sets, the Ereb Altor campaign setting, adventure modules like Mörkrets hjärta  -- I still have most of it left, I think, in storage.
What was the first tabletop RPG you GMed? DoD. I was the designated GM. I had no handle on things, really -- one character, a Dwarf, got so strong (mis-)using Hero Points rules that he could easily wrestle dragons with one hand. I had a giant step on him between adventures and made the player roll up a new character. He was not pleased.
What are you currently playing/GMing? Nothing. I haven't played since I moved north from Umeå five years ago, but I hope to some day have a use for my campaign settings. Using Hero.

Nice thing about 5e is that a LOT of the books are still available. Most are also half off here on the Hero Store, which makes them really easy to collect.

One thing I do like abouit 6e. If I have a question about the rules, I can be 99% sure that what I am looking for is there and also with an example that illustrates how something works. 5e base is around the same size as 4e. 5er is much larger. YMMV
I love RPGs that have a TON of supplements. So that I can find anyting I need with game stats (ie I won't have to convert)

    YMMV

Man Of Steel was such an atrocious piece of crap it's hard to see any movie being worse, so I'm optimistic.

Wick is definitely more about handguns than autofire in the film, but there's not much evidence one way or the other about his autofire skills.  Rather like how Matthew Quigley didn't care for pistols.

I don't even know if that rule still stands in 6e to be honest.  I still kind of default to 4th.

One of the funny things about the movie was that Charlie (the cleaner) turned out to be played by David Patrick Kelly.  Didn't even recognize him.

Soar, that was a really long post simply to say "I just don't get it".

I don't think the argument is about trying  "to appease a group of people who can't be appeased". I've talked to some, you know, actual women, and their - almost universal - complaint is "Why are there so few characters actually designed with us in mind?" We're not talking about penis-chopping manhaters here, but ordinary gamers, who feel that they are being ignored at best, actively mocked at worst, by much of the gaming industry.

I think you make the point exquisitely when you put Batgirl and Robin in the box, because it really is a good comparison: neither of them are original stand-alone characters like Batman. Both of them are derivative, subsidary appendages of the actual character, and both are well-worn archetypes: female version and trusty sidekick, respectively. Batgirl, Female Thor, Supergirl, She-hulk ... etc are not characters designed with women or girls in mind. Like Linkle, they are simply a male hero with tits slapped on, or as you put it yourself, just a reskinning of the character.

So I'm not surprised that this approach didn't satisfy feminists (or indeed, women in general) because not only was it not what they were asking for, but it was in fact exactly one of the things they were criticizing.

You make this point very well in your post, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't the point you were hoping to make.

    cheers, Mark

Wow. The Basic Set that came with the module In Search of the Unknown, aka Quasquaton. The reason I tell people I have actually never been to the Keep on the Borderlands because I got into D&D too EARLY for that module.

Whereas, I got harassed in a PuG on voicechat once they realized the male pally healing their miserable keep standing in the bad stuff asses was a woman.

Hell, I remember when I rolled my lady gnome warlock -- and she kept getting harassed in the bloody starting zone.  This was a few years after WoW came out & was in between expansions.

I like my tauren female warrior. I originally went with the female tauren because I specifically wanted a holstein-patterned tauren and that coat wasn't available in male (not that you can see any of it now). Over time, the character design has grown on me and now I consider the tauren women to be quite attractive, and I enjoy seeing a depiction of an attractive woman who isn't a waif, and who dresses like her main fashion concerns are kicking ass and not getting hurt.

I'm a bit bored with Blizzard in general. =)

As to that last bit, I've had some awkward/creepy moments while playing my female WoW characters, especially my Night Elf warrior for some reason, especially when most of the higher level plate defaulted to bikini plate for females back in Vanilla/BC days.

I wouldn't say that the female character designs "kill it for me". (The reason I'm not getting the game is that I don't like that genre of shooter, not because of anything to do with the character designs.) My initial reaction to the female characters was to appreciate their sex appeal, even--especially the one showing some thigh, Symmetra. It's just that after having someone point it out, I can take a step back and agree that yeah, the designs ARE a bit sexist, when they didn't have to be.

I don't find any of the female character designs offensive individually, in much the same way that there's absolutely no problem with any individual game having a muscular 30-something white male with a crew cut for a protagonist. When you start seeing the same thing over and over and over again, though, then it looks lazy and unoriginal at best.

I missed a few posts while I was composing my last one.

That's a big part of it--I would argue that the cliches they're following have been informed by sexist attitudes.

Not gonna lie, part of the reason I like her design is seeing a different flavor of sexy. The only thing I don't find hot about her is my fear that a woman with a physique like that wouldn't be interested in a flabby nerd like me.

Not really, but when all the women have the same pinup girl body, it starts to look a bit odd.

Yeah, the fact that 4/5 of the original women are dressed in skin-tight, curve-hugging outfits that are designed more to show off their bodies than to look practical (and even Pharah's power armor leaves NO doubt about the sex of the person wearing it). This kind of costuming design makes it look like the designers think that a woman's first priority on the battlefield should be looking sexy for the men watching them.
