  1. The halving of the cost of variable advantage when the choices are limited is a limitation on the advantage not the power.
  2. Can someone with a PDF copy of 6e2 copy/paste the OCV and DCV checklists please? I only have smartphone access for the foreseeable future.
  3. Also I believe the text says 3-4 specific advantages instead of 4,
  4. I don't think the reduction for a limited group is applied as a separate limitation. Instead, the advantage is directly reduced. I could be wrong though,
  5. I've just reread the DCV checklist from 6e2 and it clearly states that halving is always the last step. For the same reason there is no way to purchase a 'positive' OCV when moving at noncombat velocity. For that reason it doesn't matter what the source of the DCV modifier is ( limited dcv, csl, dpsl or maneuver ) the halving will occur last.
  6. To add a little more detail to Lord Liaden's post... 5e was essentially a FAQ update to 4e. 5er was an official update incorporating all of Steve Long's 5e FAQ answers from the forum. Likewise, 6e was an attempt to adress all the complaints against 5e/5er including lack of color.
  7. I am at the limits of what I can do via smart phone access and no working PC at the moment so I will have to respond later.
  8. Turning an item off doesn't require Dispel. See the fight between Johnny Quick and Flash for an example of Transform by Flash. He could 'take apart' many villain's weapons in the same fashion via Dispel.
  9. Christopher please read the quoted rules above. Dispel CAN destroy Foci. They can be rebuilt but not usually just turned back on.
  10. If an offensive abort/interupt is the goal I would allow an appropriate Analyze skill* to act as a complimentary roll for the Fastdraw/DEX roll off. *combat, style etc.
  11. 6e1 p193 A character with Dispel can turn o another character’s power. Some examples of Dispel include spells designed to disrupt or “break” other spells, light-based powers that can Dispel Dark- ness elds, or the ability to destroy or ruin gadgets.
  12. THE “NUll ZONE” As the text indicates, a Held Action is lost at the beginning of the Segment on which the character’s next Phase occurs. us, there’s a “null zone” between the start of that Segment and the start of the character’s Phase (which begins on his DEX in that Segment). is may create some di culties if a character wants to Hold his Action in anticipation of something his foe will do when the foe has a higher DEX. In this situation, the GM should apply some common sense and dramatic sense. If a char- acter wants to Hold his Action in anticipation of a foe’s conduct, the GM could use the Held Action to, in essence, move the character “up” in the initiative order for the Phase, so he can “go rst” before his foe only for the purposes of starting another Held Action. But if players start abusing this privilege, or it causes problems, the GM should stop allowing this and revert to the strict letter of the rules.
  13. Re: held action vs a character with higher DEX See 6e2 page 20 The Null Zone
  14. Exactly. The biggest problems with the movie was the director not clearly knowing which GL they were using. Not ALL GL's create detailed objects with an artists precision. Hal was always known for SIMPLE. The performance and sfx were indicating Kyle. The other issue was about the crappiest choice of a first villain. The DCAU's approach of using Sinestro to begin with would have worked much better.
  15. The rules for HERO were never about what's NOT allowed in general. However, citing a lack of a specific case in an abridged edition as an argument to get around a ruing about the same specific case in the full rules is dubious at best. Especially since the same rule exists in 5e.
  16. I saw the movie last Wednesday and loved it. My only issue was Thor being affected by the star wars slave bolts when the sfx sure seemed taser / electrical.
  17. Is it possible that the amazons shown in the previews are from a much earlier era than shown in WW's movie?

  19. I imagine trying to move while still Prone would be similar to a vertical Leap that imposes a x1/4 penalty at a minimum. How fast could soldiers crawl under barbed wire during WWII boot camp?
  20. I recently added the following to my John Wick Chapter 2 build. 10 7) Defensive Attack (Custom Skill) [Notes: From APG1 page 38 - Defensive Attack A character with this optional new Combat Skill has a heightened ability to avoid attacks in combat. He only suffers a -2 DCV when making a Multiple Attack (6E2 73), rather than his DCV being halved. (This includes Multiple Attacks made with the Two-Weapon Fighting Skill.) No roll is required, and all other Multiple Attack penalties and rules apply. Defensive Attack costs 10 Character Points and applies to all forms of Multiple Attack. If a character only wants to be able to use it with Multiple Attacks only featuring HTH attacks, or only featuring Ranged attacks, he can apply a -1 Limitation, HTH Multiple Attacks Only or Ranged Multiple Attacks Only.] HM
  21. It was a last minute addition to the collection of JLA builds. Some are more complete than others.
  22. I built a 5er rookie 350pt version of DC's Zatanna that could also be used as a starting point. http://www.killershrike.com/MiscCharacters/Contributions/Hyper-Man/Supers/JLA/The Stage Magician.html HM
