  1. Re: How to open a door? Mental Illusions and/or Images: someone got locked in! When they pop the door, keep up the MI/I that the someone is out cold on the floor, and then use Invisibility (Sight and Touch Groups) to walk in, grab the goodies, and walk out. Invisibility to Touch, as there's likely to be a bunch of people milling around in the vault, "treating" the "unfortunate".
  2. Re: Answers & Questions Q: What is "an arm and a leg"? A: That's the other arm and the other leg.
  3. Re: Newly-found raptor
  4. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat He pardons Ted Turner for colorizing Mary Poppins. NT: It's in a box wrapped in bright & cheerful paper. It's got a bow on it. It's got a tag saying it's from a good friend. But you know it's bad news. --- How do you know?
  5. Re: A Game Of Questions Do they come in other colors?
  6. Re: "Neat" Pictures Orion and the dawn, over an interesting-looking ruin. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0812/nemrutorion_tezel_big.jpg NB: That's a really BIG picture. Here's a smaller one, with info: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap081216.html
  7. Re: "Neat" Pictures Fixed. Thanks for pointing it out.
  8. Re: Hudson City Blues Hudson City Blues is a 4th edition supplement. Hence the reference to other 4th ed. books. BTW, where did you get HCB?
  9. "Magnetic-Shield Cracks Found; Big Solar Storms Expected" Well, that's what National Geographic says. Seems the magnetosphere is acting funky. But if you want to make it much, much worse, and base a campaign setting off it, go right ahead.
  10. And a big one, too. In South America, where it was thought there weren't any that got bigger than about turkey sized. Another critter for your Lost World scenario(s).

    In the jungle...

Re: In the jungle... Oh hey, I missed the collection of photos. Yep, that's one PINK centipede! And it does what with cyanide?!? Go read, go look, go enjoy.

    Buncha dim-bulbs

Re: Buncha dim-bulbs Here's a couple of dumbbells to go with the dimbulbs.
  13. Possible lake effect clouds on Titan. Possible source of Enceladus's jets. More fun & interesting stuff for anyone thinking about a Solar HERO setting.

  15. Re: The Voynich Manuscript Thank you, Lawnmower Boy. For those claiming the Voynich Manuscript is oh, so sophisticated, too much so to be a fake---did you read the articles in my earlier post? Lawnmower Boy has, in essence, the gist of the matter. Never said it wasn't. I just want people to be clear on the "reality quotient" of neat stuff they're thinking about putting in their campaigns. If Z is completely bogus, there are ways to put it into a setting w/o "hung by the neck"-ism, and those way are different from how to put in something that's true. At least, IMO and IME. YMMV.
  16. Re: Water Tunnel That must be something reFred-beans added. I've got 5th edition, and I just re-read the section on Tunneling, and it says no such thing.
  17. Re: New pyramid discovered in Egypt - plot seed time! A worm-powered vehicle?!?

    Buncha dim-bulbs

Re: Buncha dim-bulbs Yes, they are. That's why they're so dim.
  20. Re: BODY into STUN OK, fine, that's it. Next time I ask for help on how to do something, I will NOT tell anyone why. Except for Amadan, Psylint, Hyper-Ma and especially Sean, everyone has gotten completely hung up on the why, not the how. I'm not really all that interested in who uses it where; I mentioned the potential for usefulness as an encouragement for people to think up how to do what I wanted. Briancraft, I don't know what got you so ticked off you lectured at me. Sorry if I pressed a button, though I'll be d****d if I can see what it was. To me, it came across as bullying. If that's not what you meant, good; but that is what it sounded like. Anyway, I've got Sean's build, which does what I was after, so I'm bailing out of this thread before it gets uglier.

  22. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Santa. I'm sure she'll..."enjoy"...having him around.
  23. Re: Answers & Questions Q: Hey, look at my new invention: an exploding abacus! A: Every seventh Thursday.
