  1. Re: Happy Birthday Shem Whistler Thanks Doc, but keep those type of comments up and I'll have to stab you lightly in the arm. Thanks Man Shem
  2. Re: Package deal - no deal? You're in a very good position then, but I would imagine that some players find it hard to get a handle on all the options that are available to them. I would imagine that this especially true to new to HERO players, as well as new to non-level system players. I think that if it is a tool to give new players an idea of what skills, perks, talents etc that can be selected to help form the basis of a well rounded character hen they are a good thing. I also think that as you get more experinence in the system, as you obviously are, then he milage that you get from them will drop off. I would imagine that they are more useful as a concept for heroic level games rather than superheroic. I think that anything that helps introduce the game to new players and reduce the learning curve has to be worth it. And as my mate Doc always says, if you don't like it , don't use it, that's the beauty of the toolkit. Heh, I'm almost merging this into the levelling thread that it is going on at the moment. Just my 2 units of currency. Shem
  3. Re: Package deal - no deal? Also it is a term that I have seen in some D20 products, namely B5, and this might help breed some cross product 'ability'. I so couldn't finish that sentance right Shem
  4. Re: Stargate Hero I'm very keen on a combination of Doc's concept and my constructs, have had a lengthy chat off the board with him and have decided to play with the numbers he has proposed to see how quickly a Replicator infection will take to become deadly. I'll post the results as soon as they're done. Shem

  6. Replicators Here is my first draft of the Replicators. It is not quite complete as I still need to build the Queen, but you can see the route that I'm taking. I've started off with a single block that creates more blocks and then Multiforms to a Worker. This worker then creates more blocks, then Duplicates and ultimately can Multiform upto a Soldier. It also possesses skills to start to take over tech systems it encounters. The Soldier can then Multiform to a Queen. I was going to handwave the kill the first block and everything else dies mechanic of Duplication, on the grounds that you would never be able to find that initial one, plus the hive mind mentality of the Replicators means that you would need to wipe them all out to stop them in their tracks. In the next post I will put the builds of the Block, Worker and Soldier. Please let me know what you think. I apologise in advance for any glaring errors as it is very late and I'm feeling wooly headed. Cheers Shem
  7. 8. Hi, This first question I have I'm sure I know the answer to but I'm hoping that you might say something different Is it possible to use a major transform to create a seperate pointed entity with their own powers and stats? Secondly, with summon if I have a maximum total of 20 summoned creatures is it correct that if all 20 are summoned, then one is dipelled, killed etc, then you could summon another one bringing you to your total of 20 again? Thanks in advance. Shem
  9. Re: Help with a gun build please. Thanks, this is a lot clearer in my head now. I will do a rebuild and then post it here for comment. Thanks to all for their comments. Shem
  10. Re: Help with a gun build please. Sorry for being slow, but would you eccept the possible extra points for the 'detachable' feature? Or does the 'detachable' effect have to be built differently? I am also not sure how you 'add' 2 powers together. Is it possible to build modular powers? For example if I created a template build for a sight and another for a silencer. Could I then just add these modules onto a gun build? I think this would be done with a compound power, but I'm not sure how well that adds together with a multipower. Any thoughts anyone? Cheers Shem
  11. Re: Help with a gun build please. Thanks both of you I have seen the example and see what you're getting at. I'll leave the extra time where it is. Cheers Shem
  12. Re: Help with a gun build please. Ooops, when I was making this in HD I din't know how much it would be, so I set it at 40 and then didn't recuce it down again when I had finished. Thanks for that. Can you have a compound power with a simple CSL with OAF coupled with a multipower? Cheers Shem
  13. Re: Help with a gun build please. Thanks for the feedback
  14. Hi all, I know that the Dark Champions forum doesn't get as much traffic so I'm cross posting here. I was hoping for some feedback on this build, either from the resident gun bunnies, or from anyone else willing to offer an opinion. http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27913 Cheers Shem
  15. Re: Nautilus looking for new crew I'm familiar with the concept of PBEM, but not familiar with the mechanic. How exactly do they work? Just a curious party Shem

  19. Re: Stargate Hero Tim, Thanks for the input, I've got DC and was going to use that a base. I was going to see if all the modifiers fitted the SG feel, for instance I need to have a look to see if Real Weapon fits the style. DC also has some fairly large gaps, for instance C4 and claymores, that will need to be filled. Thanks again. Matt
  20. Re: Stargate Hero Hi, I am starting to get a bit more free real life time, and the next thing I was looking to do was create some equipment write ups. Primarily this will be write up of weapons and combat equipment. Would peoples preference be for the all of this in one HD file using lists to group and sort the items? Or would people prefer a seperate fiel for each 'faction' or 'type' of equipment. Examples; A) One file. SGC Pistols 9mm Machine Gun FN P90 Assault Rifle Goa'uld Hand Weapons Zat Assault Weapons Staff Weapon Heavy Weapons Seperate Files by 'Faction' Goa'uld Hand Weapons Zat Assault Weapons Staff Weapon Heavy Weapons C) Seperate Files by 'Type' Hand Weapons/Pistols Goa'uld Zat SGC 9mm Assault Weapons Goa'uld Staff Weapon SGC It would be great if people could give feedback on which they'd prefer, then I can start to organise the files. Not to influence the ooutcome, but I think I prefer Cheers Shem
  21. Re: Stargate Hero Ooops, good point, I put it on the site but never here, will add it now. Also, I know that I've been quiet on this lately but have had a very busy real life month, should hopefully get back to this soon. Cheers Shem
  22. Re: Stargate Hero Is this not what happened to teal'c's father? I might be making that up as it isn't exactly an uncommon plot idea in fiction, but I have in my head that Teal'c's father was essentially sent to his death by a system lord on a fool's errand. And in revenge Teal'c trained to be the prime of that system lords rival, Apohisis. Can anyone verify my sanity? Shem
