If you have Hero Designer, you could always buy the Bestiary character pack. It's the same content sans pictures.

A new version has been uploaded to the online store. I have reset all of the download flags for all purchases of Shades of Black. You (and anyone else who has the errored version) can simply go back to your Order Status and download the ZIP file again. Any questions? Let me know.

Give the doll Mental Awareness, Targeting, Megascaled. With that the doll can target anyone, anywhere mentally and still do physical attacks.

You should also write up an END Reserve to represent the ritual that "charges" the doll. Give it Extra Time, Never Recovers and Must Have Personal Item of Victim modifiers. Once you used all the "magic" in the END Reserve, another ritual will need to be performed to make it work again. If you wanted to just throw the ritual out, give it 0 END and go nuts.

Ben, whend did you first download the PDF? Did you extract it from a ZIP file when you downloaded it?

The file would upload to the server but only be about 3.8MB instead of the 4.9MB it should have been. But when I downloaded the file from the server it seemed to have expanded it. So perhaps the problem people are having is with the decompression during the download. So, I have ZIPped up the file and uploaded it. THAT upload came across without descrepancy in the file size. So I am hopeful that when people download the ZIP file, they PDF inside will be intact. For those of you who still don't have a good download after purchase, please email me .

If you purchased Shades of Black before now, there is a new file for you to download. This will fix some of the art issues and it will hopefully provide a beter downloadfor hte users who were having problems opening it. Please email me and I will supply with access to the file.

I'm looking into this right now. Strangely, when I download the file from the server I get the same error, but the original of the file opens without any problems. When Tina downloaded the file she didn't get any error. I'm going to reupload the original and see if that fixes the problem. Once I have a solution I'll announce it here and then those who need to redownload should email me. Sorry about this.

Bob Greenwade sent a whole shipload of goodies for the STKO, and I've just uploaded a good stash of weapons and some sensors. Good stuff, Bob! There are more to put up, including some Medical and Nano technology, robots, vehicles and starships, but I wanted to get this stuff up onto the site now. I've also added an Update Log that lists all of the updates that have been made tot he Toolkit. Enjoy!

Amen to that. And here's something that made no sense to me. [rant] Kurse... whatever the hell he was (I didn't care enough about him to investigate) crossed over into my favorite book, Power Pack. He was storming down the streets of New York looking for Thor (cuz, after all, Thor lives in New York, right?) when he smashed Power Pack's mom through a storefront window. So the the Be-YAWN-er shows up and being the good samaritan that he is, takes Mr.s Power to the hospital. WTF?! Why not heal her on the spot? ARGH! Although having their mother critically injured did lead to a few good stories (a pretty good New Mutants crossover where Valkyrie fights off the spirit that showed up to take Mrs. Power away) they could have done it without Kurse or the Beyonder.
