  1. Blackface (Black History Month) Moe Cornelius didn't set out to create the what many to be the most offensive villain ever, he merely wanted to pay tribute to Black History Month. Unfortunately, he's a very white young man who thinks the greatest names in Black History include Clubber Lang, Shaft, and Mr. Bojangles. He wears blackface makeup and speaks in exaggerated modes of speech that alternate between Amos and Andy and the jive talkers from Airplane! He turned to crime because his passion was misunderstood, which he actually takes great pride in now claiming he understands the black man's burden. Also to be cool.
  2. Distilled down to the truest basics... Primary types: Brains, Brawn, Speed. Supplementary types: Range, Defense, Stealth.
  3. My two current characters are on both ends of the spectrum. The Silver Bullet is a speedster capable of moving thousands of mph (forget actual number) out of combat. The Foreman, however, has no movement powers at all, and relies on a team transport or a motorcycle (normal; bought with cash, not points).
  4. Nix the martial arts. Pure gadgeteer, ala Brainiac 5, Kang and numerous others. I always dislike anything but basic self-defense in a gadgeteer.
  5. Red caps have been known to kill victims by rolling boulders over them. Not really something that one carries in a pocket or pouch, but perhaps a mini version, like a field of marbles? I'll keep thinking.
  6. If a behind the scenes supplier/consultant like the Tinker or Q is an option, I vote for that.
  7. Heck, this is what X-Men and New Mutants was (is?) all about. Nearly every one of them had some sort of traumatizing story about their powers manifesting. I can still recall Rogue's pretty vividly.
  8. But it has been shown that Plas's wrapping ability only has limited effectiveness against the superstrong, and they don't come much stronger than Thor. He would still be able to move, and definitely wouldn't succumb to suffocation... unless it's evil badass Plas that actually stretches into his lungs and attacks from there.
  9. This would be an entertaining battle, but I give it to Thor who gets so frustrated that he calls down a lightning strike and flashfries Plas.
  10. Does a battlesuit (or other pure focus) character count as a off-switch type?
  11. I would just play up his natural abilities; amplify the intelligence a bit, planning skills, chemistry based gadgetry. If you want to get supernatural, make him an alchemist. But then I'm a sucker for the mad scientist routine, so I think there's plenty there already. And luck. 6d6 of luck.
  12. I've been binging on Breaking Bad for the past two weeks, and I'm more excited for the finale tonight than I can remember ever being for a TV show.
  13. This seems like it should be pretty easy to answer, but so many of my favorites have been altered, rebooted, or otherwise transmogrified that I lost interest. These days I'm just not sure. I'll give it a shot though. To try and focus things, I'm going to stick to active characters. Favorite superhero: Jamie Madrox, The Multiple Man. No matter what, I look forward to reading about him. Favorite superhero team*: X-Factor for now. They're about to go away, though, so I don't know after that. Favorite Villain: Until further notice, it's The Riddler. We haven't seen enough of him in the Nu52 to confirm nor deny this current incarnation's spot. Favorite Villain Team: The Wrecking Crew. I'm always a sucker for a good theme team, and they're always just fun. *This is the hardest category, believe it or not. X-Factor wins by default, really, with no Doom Patrol or Metal Men or JLI in contention.
  14. Running the Books: The Adventures of an Accidental Prison Librarian by Avi Steinberg Good inside look at prison from a rarely seen perspective. Pimps make the best librarians...who knew?
  15. I have several thoughts. Thinking out loud here... 1) Superman. All-Star style Superman, that was my favorite depiction, and really highlighted the Fortress of Solitude and the incredible resources at his calling. Pros: Superman. Duh. Cons: Overwhelming responsibility, an enormous array of massively powerful beings trying to kill me. 2) Jamie Madrox, the Multiple Man. His powers absolutely fascinate me, I think I would love that setup, and no real arch enemies to speak of. Pros: The ability to try everything, to learn everything. To never truly be alone. Cons: Psychologically, it would probably be devastating to acquire now without growing up learning how to handle it. Also, that whole mutant crap thing. 3) Ambush Bug. Seriously. He's not insane, he just sees things ... differently. Pros: Global teleporter. No real enemies. Sees beyond the fourth wall. Very funny. Cons: Ok, yeah, he's insane. Suddenly seeing through the fourth wall would probably do that to me, too. 4) G'nort. Again, seriously. He's got a Green Lantern ring, and almost none of the responsibility. What's not to love? Pros: Great friends in the JLI. His arch enemy is the Scarlet Skier. And did I mention the power ring? Cons: He's a dog. Nobody takes him seriously, always cast aside. Tough choice. Hmm, Hercules seems pretty happy...
  16. Worst group? Alpha Flight. I mean, seriously!? Canadians? Pfft. Yeah, that'll work.
  17. Somebody (more ambitious than myself) needs to build this in Sim City (a good edition, not the latest fiasco release).

  19. Re: The Non Sequitor Thread A research retreat! Sweet!
  20. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I don't eat tuna anyway, but now I'm actually relieved about it.
