  1. Re: Streetfighter Character Thread So, for those of us that don't have the original books, which picture is which?
  2. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central Hermit, I'd be aghast if you did change it. Merely an attempt at humor.
  3. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central Theres always 'Yankee Daring'...
  4. Re: Is 5er Still On Its First Printing? I bet your player is pretty peeved you sold him the copy-at-the-center-of-the-earth. Did you axe him out of the group right after you made the transaction?
  5. Re: another EC question Imma BigsTupid, I wanted to peg it @ a 5d6 Major Transform. That puts the active points @ 75. Heres how I did it: Subtract the base cost from the active point cost (75-20=55). Now apply the limitation Rapid Recovery (BOD every 6 hours) -1. That should make it 27 real points which is what the slot now costs, aye?
  6. I am building another 20 point EC based on ice powers. I want to be able to freeze people/things solid. I decided that a major transform was the best way to go. My question lies on how to pay the points in an EC. I will add a limitation of healing normal body every 6 hours which I believe to be a -1 Lim. How do I figure out the real points?
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Notable moments from the past weekend's Champions game: "I run slow enough that she can hear me." "What now he has pants on!? Dang it."
  8. Re: Art question They look like painted minis. If that were the art going into a book like say Fantasy Hero, I'd think the quality was subpar. If they were going into a min game book, the it would be much more acceptable.
  9. The classic 'brick smacks his hands together and creates a big boom'. In Fred, its described as a hearing group flash. I don't think this is all that useful and doesn't correctly model the effect of grabbing your ears and being unable to act because of the force of the blow and general discombobulation. I think entangle does this much better. My question is, following the based on ECV line, if I add explosion to the entangle (cone) and take no range, does this behave as does area of effect (cone) no range (where the effect begins in the hex away from the character thus avoiding the whole character takes full effect clause)?
  10. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? As an aside, I had pegged the invisibility to only work when the character put fort concerted effort (ie increased endurance). The character already has a disad of distinctive features: heat blur when powers activate.
  11. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? Steve: I had thought about making the invisibility into images. I don't like the no fringe thing, which is why I'd much rather pull it out of the EC or change the EC point total to accomodate the base, no adders, invisibility. I think we have the same idea here on how the SFX is going to apply in this instance. Thanks for the idea about change environment. I'll give that a go when I can look at the book again.
  12. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? An additional question. If you have an EC set up and other powers outside the EC construct (say the attack multipower or the invisibility outside the EC) can you activate both at the same time, or will one forgo the other like in a multipower?
  13. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? Yeah, thats what I was thinking needed to happen.
  14. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? Hmmm, so if I make it a 10 point EC, then it increases the overall cost to 130 but becomes a legal build in my original example?
  15. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? Falling in which instance? If Ileave it in the EC there is lots of flying while blasting, no?
  16. Re: Is this a legal Elemental Control? Flight would be the manipulation of heat currents in the air. Invisibility would (I believe) be similar to your thoughts here. I was entertaining the idea of doing images, would that work?
  17. I've never built an EC before but think it fits in this instance. The character has heat (but not fire) based powers. 20 Pt EC edit: Force Field 20pd/ed Flight 20" EB 12d6 Invisibility to sight group for a total cost of 120 points. Opinions welcome.
  18. The slingshot could be a power stunt that would use a skill roll (for one time uses only) or could just be pushing your flight. I don't think you can haymaker that otherwise I'd say haymaker it. Edit: Perhaps not the flight but pushing the leaping.
  19. Re: Spiderman style aerial mobility Seems to me that its just special effects. You really only have to model things that are to be used in a combat environment. That effect is handled by his insane DEX and combat luck.
  20. Re: Double The Hero Excitement! GoO? Guardians of the Order? What have they to do w/ M&M?
  21. Re: "Sorry m'am, you'll have to check your hand grenades." If its something that they know of in advance, then perhaps the OAF player can leave a few days earlier in order to prepare themselves or obtain new equpiment on site. If that is not the case, now there is a side quest where they must go find someone who can teleport or make sure their stuff gets to the right place at the right time. Especially if you take the teleporting avenue and its a big experimental set up (as in not yet thoroughly tested) then you have all kinds of story possibilities open up when they get across the country/world and find one of their arrows missing...
  22. Re: Plex's Campaign You can still do Titans Background as a disad, you just write out mystery disad (only known by GM) and point it out accordingly. It all depends on the players.
  23. Re: Knockback on a speedster If you take clinging, you're back to the normal KB defense, right?
  24. Re: What to do about long, mysterious absences? She is not aware of his secret ID. It also didn't help that his team mates have never met his sister nor do they know where she lives. So she has had no contact with anyone who would know anything through the whole time. I intend for the sister to be the host of one of the baddies in a future story arc for two reasons. The first is that the present story arc mainly uses background elements from the other members of the party. I'd like to get this character some DNPC limelight. The second reason has to do with her paralysis. Her injury is the reason our comatose hero is a hero. He never wanted anything like that to happen to anyone else. In past game sessions, this sister has lamented the fact that now everything is different in their lives and she wishes life was more like before her accident. I want to play out the story of someone who had use of their legs, lost it and then was granted it again in warped sort of way. She will like being the avatar of this being because it allows her to do things again.
  25. In my campaign, one of the characters was injured enough that he went into a coma and needed hospitalization. This character has a secret ID. He also has a DNPC sister with whom he lives and cares. (She's wheelchair bound as well.) In total, the character has been gone for at least two weeks. Now I need to figure out what has gone on with the sister. It fits my GMmy purposes to have her abducted by VIPER or some wierd cult to use as a host for a visiting extraplanar entity but I don't quite think that its dramatically correct timing to do it now as the current plotline has still not been resolved. What do others suggest or how have you seen it handled well?
